3/15/13: Episode 32. On the premiere episode of 2013, special guest Melkior fills-in kinda last minute for Chekhov and does a fantastic job for being a first-time guest. Everyone explains what they did during the Winter, and Southpaw reads her resume on the air. We call Gosho Aoyama out on various issues, including how inexcusably long the Bourbon arc was, as well as how much of a poor romance writer he is. But the entire thing isn't anti-Gosho!! We swear!! Melkior talks about her fandom history, as well as running an Ask Gin and Vodka RP blog on Tumblr, and we all get into an interesting discussion about Gin and Sherry's relationship (and even a discussion about the APTX). Also, Southpaw has Tokumei Sentai GoBusters feels and Skyechan discusses the latest with her rewatch. She's in the 500's, so... yeah, feel sorry for her. We also talk *a lot* about pairings, so if you're a shipping fan, this podcast is the one for you!! Manga spoilers from 4:32-5:43. Length: 1 hour and 26 minutes

Cool! I think this is a pretty good idea.You spoke pretty clearly, not to quiet and not too loud.

The only problem is that I took a while to get used to your accent but don't worry about it 'cause I'm from Australia.:P

Sp : people asking her when they can watch @ d watch section or why they cannot watch there.

in all honesty, I didn't think the dead air was that big of a deal, since it'll hopefully go away when there are more people available to talk

also, when I join in, I hope to include more news stuff (which carpetcrawler did a little in his short intro) like that thing about Rina Aiuchi I posted a couple weeks ago , and maybe feature another story (anime or otherwise)... ie, pick a specific DC topic to delve into, and then near the end mention the other one in a more general sense

oh, and for those of you who weren't expecting his accent... I should warn you that I'm American too... and I generally speak clearly, but I'll try extra hard to overcome my Pittsburghese

p.s. You aren't too loud and yah, you shocked me with your voice. I firstly thought that you were someone 'bit old and talks slowly with a deep tone of voice...

Yeah, I have a pretty obvious New York accent, some of my fellow American listeners noticed how I said things, so you're not alone. :P


Another opinion from me after hearing your podcast again and again, I noticed that you sometimes do a long pause(5 sec) in between 2 sentences or so...


The fact that it took a few listens for you to notice any dead air at all is a good sign, IMO. I was by myself for the podcast, going in pretty much completely un-briefed in what was literally the first take I did of the podcast, so hence, there's going to be dead air. It's going to happen. It won't happen as badly when other folks participate (including Southpaw and skyechan), but for an episode that technically doesn't count as an episode (Note that it's called episode 0) and with no briefings, I really don't think the dead air is all that noticeable.

Yay, an opinion on the chat room!! Thank you! And yes, I tend to think it'll be a surprise when you hear the voice of some folks. :P I've been told my voice sounded older on the podcast. I have a pretty deep voice, though it doesn't sound like it on the podcast.

Yeah, the news will typically be longer, my apologies. ^^' I think what I was trying to do was do all of the more recent news, and like a month ago there was a ton of news when it comes to DC. However new DC news recently has been small and not that notable.

I don't watch other anime all that much, so I probably won't participate in that bit about other anime. That'll be your floor. :P

I like the podcast so far. I read 745 while listening, and I hope you continue.
A little feedback: There were a few "um"s and coughs, but it isn't gonna kill anyone.
Another thing is that I don't hear an accent. You speak pretty clearly, and that's good.
Also, now that i've heard the podcast, the IRC seems more interesting. I think the problem was that a few people hadn't ever heard of it, and people tend to not like what they don't know.
And about movie 14, no, I"m not going to ask "when's it gonna come out?", but I'm not the most excited about it. I mean, I got worked up about movie 13, but then was a little disappointed, for it lacked something.
I'm going off topic, but to wrap it up, I enjoy listening to the podcast, and I hope you continue in the near future!

On SouthPaw's issue, I'm also one of those who are also annoyed. I still don't know why there are still people asking about it. And let me correct you, Maurice is a HE, not a SHE.

With the funny thing being that IRC is probably the most famous chat client in the world... everywhere but on this forum. :P

I am also one of those who don't understand why people keep asking. We can't post the videos yet. It shouldn't take much to figure out why we can't post videos, upload videos, link to videos, anything like that, for the time being.

IRC is a good idea and I'm definitely open to suggestions as usual. :)
The only challenge would be to find a nice IRC web-based client that we could put in the "Chat" section of the site and which could connect to our IRC channel. I know that computer savvy users will be using an IRC client instead, like mIRC, but we want to make the chatting process as accessible as possible to everyone, hence the Chat section at the top. Fortunately, most popular IRC servers nowadays provide an IRC web-based interface. So, we'll see what can be done there.

And yes, I'm a HE...

Your voice was clear & smooth. I enjoyed listening, I'm looking forward to the next. It's a different feel when discussions goes actual voices, that's because my college years contains a very few DC discussions. I miss highshool where I have a lot of friends talk about DC.

Just listened to your podcast few days ago. As far as my sense of hearing is concerned, it seems that you're nervous and I also noticed that you did without using a script. But still, it's great. About the Movie 14, I'm not looking forward for it yet since I still have a very, very, very (raised to infinity :P) long way to go to catch up with the episodes since I don't have time to watch and I am still studying, but, fortunately, I can still find time to download them. And, I am planning to watch everything chronologically. About the IRC, I think it's a great idea, though I haven't encountered one before. About on whoever wants to participate in the podcast, I'm hesitant yet, but I hope that I can participate in one in the future.

I'm looking forward to the next one. By the way, where did you record your voice? Your voice sounds very clear.

those of us involved are having trouble making our paths cross.... and I specifically asked CarpetCrawler if we could wait until after the holidays (of which the big two are over... there's another one that starts at the end of this week, that I tend to be less concerned about)

^-^ I liked it, of course the random stuff people mentioned.. but I think it was good. And personally I don't detect a major accent >.> I suppose that would just be me.... I know some people with MAJOR accents, where the "a" sound becomes "er" and they're from New York if I'm not mistaken. Anywho, I like the idea, and it's kind of fascinating hearing something like a talk radio over Detective Conan. But it's not on radio so I can't call in and randomly say stuff >.> DARN oh well don't mind my rambling...
