Case

Situation

The teacher of the Detective Boys decides to give the class a mental test. Conan is called by the teacher so the class must solve it without him. They solve it with the help of two silent out-casted students. It turns out it was a plan to include the new students so they feel more involved.

Numbers were assigned to members of the class: Mitsuhiko got the 1, Ayumi the 2, Conan the 3, Maria Higashio the 4, Genta the 5, Takuma Sakamoto the 6. Genta's number was the only one to be red. The students then found a paper with dice numbers, in the order 3-1-6-2-4-5, the 1 being the only red. Actually, the students' names were supposed to be aligned as in a shiritori game (where the last syllable of a word is the syllable that starts the following word). Genta's number was red; as a result, he was the first in the game. The game led the names to be aligned in this order: Genta (1) - Takuma (2) - Maria (3) - Ayumi (4) - Mitsuhiko (5) - Conan (6). Those last numbers order were assosciated with the dice numbers and the assigned numbers.

The students then counted the syllables in their names, and picked the one corresponding to the assigned numbers, before aligning them in the previous order. The solution of the code was "Ongakushitsu" (music room).

Trivia

• Conan gets wrong about stroke order of the kanji for "woman".
• In this episode, Conan doesn't explain the code resolution, but only the "culprit"'s motive.
