Situation

Ayumi happens to see the face of a person after he blows his nose looking similar to the one that has been on the run for 5 years, so she calls for Conan, Haibara, Genta, and Mitsuhiko. While discussing the reward, the way they should tackle the issue, a man named Koji Tanaka passes by and gets caught in this as soon as he and Conan get to see the face of the suspected person.

Culprit: Ken Kito

To this day, Kito is still on the run. The reward for catching him is 3 million yen.

However, Tanaka insists on chasing the person alone while having the kids call the police instead. But the suspected person slipped onto the river, forcing Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys to save him with the Elasticity Suspender.

Accident or attempted murder?

Location: An alley near the river of Beika Street

Victim: Taro Yamada

The Detective Boys manage to save him, but for some reason, Tanaka fled from the scene.

However, the suspected person is actually Taro Yamada, who has been struggling in life as his face looks just like Ken Kito. The boys then help the police to sketch the appearance of Koji Tanaka so they can investigate further.

Attempted murder

Victim: Ayumi Yoshida, Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya, Genta Kojima

Age: 6-7 years old

Culprit: Koji Tanaka

The Detective Boys happen to discover the apartment where Tanaka lives, and is about to be silenced by him when the police Conan calls arrive in time.

As it turns out, Ken Kito had facelift surgery five years ago and became Koji Tanaka since then. Tanaka intends to kill Taro Yamada by pushing him into the river so as to make the corpse impossible to find. Just as when Tanaka is trying to silence the Detective Boys, the police Conan calls for arrive just in time and subdue the man. Obviously, the Detective Boys get scolded by Megure for that reckless action, and they would never learn from that.

Trivia

• In the TV broadcast, a special Next Conan Hint and End Card are shown. The hint is TWILIGHT!!! (with King Gnu's logo now fully shown), and the end card shows members of King Gnu, Conan, and Kogoro. It promotes the band performing One-eyed Flashback theme song on Yomiuri TV's Best Hits Kayosai 2025, which featured an anime version performance with Gosho Aoyama supervising the character design.
