Situation

Part 1

The Tokyo Bell Tree Tower of the Suzuki Conglomerate is attracting public attention once again due to its latest expansion, the exhibition room in the sky; along with Kaitou Kid’s newest target, the Azure Throne.

At night, inside the building, Jirokichi quotes from his newest collaborator that the reason Kid often strikes when the skies are clear is because of his outfit being susceptible to humidity, which leads him to have Kichida Manufacturing build this new exhibition room. He then shows both Conan and Nakamori the security installed outside the room:

  • The wall facing toward the camera has its three horizontal color lines changed randomly, but their color patterns are always synchronized with one from the security room monitor frame.
  • The corridor before entering the exhibition room has some very powerful humidifiers installed on.

Then, the exhibition room is going to have its final check before Jirokichi’s next encounter with Kid. However, just as when they finish their testing, the power is suddenly cut. Conan notices an abnormality in the camera footage, and rushes to the exhibition room. This scares off Satsuki Kichida as she is looking for a police to help address the strange message from her husband, who is also the president of Kichida Manufacturing, Yotaro. Strangely enough, Yotaro’s secretary Kyuuya Kamiji also receives a strange message from him, both say: “I will protect the jewel with my life”.

However, when Conan enters the room, he sees the terrified Kaitou Kid looking at Yotaro’s body with a gunshot wound on his head.

At that moment, Hakuba Saguru orders the exhibition room to close to make sure no one leaves when he, Nakamori, and Jirokichi march toward the room with several Riot Police officers. Kid is still panicked about the murder scene, and asks Conan to prove his innocence. Conan agrees under one condition: Kaitou Kid will have to disguise as Shinichi and act following what Conan said to, which includes not letting Ran figure out that he was the fake one.

  • There is something stuck to both sides of the body’s toe.
  • The blood splatter on the curtains to the right of the body.

Part 2

People

  • Resolution

    Manga to anime changes

    • Several dialogues are not adapted:
    • Ran mentioning the Mount Washio case as one of the topic she talked with Shinichi the other day
    • Nakamori praising Jirokichi after he explained the idea to capture Kid
    • Nakamori asking the final check team to withdraw quickly from the exhibition room.
    • Conan sniffing Kid's clothes to check if there is gunpowder smell, suspecting that he might have changed clothes, which Kid deny and that he would have ran away if he had time for that.
    • Nakamori refering Hakuba as "cosplaying detective boy" when he appeared.
    • Hakuba thinking that he have no other choice but to abandon the plan to submerge the exhibition room in a pool because Conan is inside.
    • "Shinichi" explaining the same trick that was used in Bell Tree Express murder case, and that Hakuba should have read the news as Kaitou Kid was scheduled to steal the jewel exhibited on that train.
    • Nakamori mentioned that the security room was crowded by the media as one reason they are doing the questioning in the staff room.
    • "Shinichi" explaining how did he enter the exhibition room to Hakuba.
    • "Shinichi" reminding Megure that his involvement should be a secret
    • Takagi mentioning that president Kichida's phone was found in the hallway.
    • Jirokichi asking Conan to come with him into the exhibition room is anime addition.
    • After Conan said "Hey, Shinichi-niichan.", "Shinichi" replied "What is it, Conan-kun?". The later line is anime addition.

    Trivia

    • Because of that, this case, which supposed to be aired as Episode 1192-1193, is delayed. The episode number was confirmed via an image of Movie 29 guest voice actors who were watching the recording session of this case.[1]
    • This case was promoted in conjunction with Episode "ZERO" The Shinichi Kudo Aquarium Case (via their posters).
    • The suspects' names are related to "planets"[2]:
      • Yotaro Kichida (吉田 陽太郎) comes from "sun" (太陽 taiyō?) ;
      • Masuo Kase (加勢 増男) comes from "mars" (火星 / マーズ kasei / māzu?) ;
      • Satsuki Kichida (吉田 さつき) comes from "moon" ( tsuki?) ;
      • Kyuya Kamiji (上地 九哉) comes from "earth" (地球 chikyū?).
    • Riot policeman Funamoto (舟本) comes from real-life Shonen Sunday editor Riaru Funamoto (舟本 りある)[2].
    • While the characters "吉田" that make up Yotaro and Satsuki Kichida's last name are common, they are usually read Yoshida, which is the 11th most common surname in Japan, found notably in Ayumi Yoshida. Other readings include Yoshita and Kitta, and the "Kichida" reading is very rare.
