Situation

The Detective Boys are invited onto the yacht of a wealthy businessman in Shinta City. The owner's wife invites the group to eat on the boat with them. During lunch, the woman shows the kids two videos: one in which her husband is learning how to swim with the help of a kickboard and one in which the man has finally learned to swim. After a few hours, while playing the kids see the entrepreneur jump into the sea and drown.

This case is a murder. The culprit is Nao Takiguchi. It turns out Nao tricked her husband into believing he could swim by putting a floating agent into their pool, allowing him to float easily. Nao used bath salt at first, which is why Koro's collar was strangely rusted. But the president noticed the change in water density once Nao increased the amount of bath salt in the pool.

After that, Nao used a water-soluble polymer, which most likely rose the water density above 1.3, which is dense enough to easily float a person while they're reading. After jumping into the ocean, he realized that he couldn't keep himself afloat properly and drowned as a result. Nao as shown in the video delayed the rescue attempt on purpose to ensure that he stayed in water enough for him to die.

The motive was that the president was a cruel man who would stop at nothing to grow his company, including using underhanded methods. The president didn't know how many people suffered because of it. Nao killed her husband to give him a taste of his own medicine. She couldn't bear to live under the same roof with a man who abandoned his sense and elegance. Agasa, via Conan, tells Nao while it might be true that her husband had no sense or elegance since his goal was money, Nao has abandoned something more: her humanity.
