Case

Situation

Mitsuhiko has a new radio transceiver that intercepts other peoples conversations, but when it intercepts a kidnap case, Conan must figure out the hidden location before a young daughter loses her life.

Junko's father worked as the tenant of the building he lived in with his family. Some time ago a little girl died when she fell off a rooftop of a building that was in the middle of being constructed, which was caused by his negligence by disregarding the repair of the rooftop door's broken lock which had been left broken and unsupervised for an entire week before the unfortunate accident took place. That child was Tomidokoro's toddler daughter, and he blamed the tenant for it. Since Junko's father was acquitted, he couldn't stand it and decided to take revenge.

Tomidokoro kidnapped and tied up little Junko, brought her to a nearby building's terrace, and then forced Junko's dad to do his bidding via giving him instructions through a walkie-talkie, before saying that he wanted the other man to stab himself to death, or Junko would die. This was foiled by Conan and the Detective Boys: Conan kicked the walkie-talkie right to Tomidokoro's face and knocked him out, then he released Junko and used the w-t to tell this to her dad which successfully stopped him from killing himself.

Later, Conan remembers that he had promised Ran to go cheer for her in her latest karate tournament and that he let that pass to rescue Junko! He hurries to the stadium and finds Ran, trying to make up a quick lie by saying he was impressed by how she won with a back-kick. However, Ran only won her semi-final match with a back-kick, whereas only won the tournament via disqualification from her opponent being injured previously. As such, Ran got very angry with Conan for lying to her.
