Southpaw Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 this goes back to the timeline issue, I think... even though not much story-time has passed during all of this real-world-time, Aoyama-sensei has been quoted saying that he draws whatever season is outside his window... I'm fairly certain this extends to technology as well, so even if her cell phone plan didn't say it was time for an update, Aoyama-sensei would have given her better technology anyway (hence why Conan's bento box/ fax machine only showed up once in the entire series) 1

If Detective Conan continues through 2050, and it likely will, then we'll have Kogoro's cheap rental cars replaced by awesome-looking hovercars without anyone giving it a second thought.
