Where my family comes from, there are a lot of homeless people on the streets who waste their money on alcohol and drugs. They do a lot of robbing and harassing people who pass by, and the police don't really do anything. They even get bribed.

Where my family is from, the neighborhoods are so safe you could walk around the city at night and be fine. I think that's just because night markets are part of the culture though.

Walking around is really dangerous where my family's from. People can actually just buy a sticker that says "Taxi" and be allowed to drive around picking and dropping people off for money. It's really dangerous, so unless you lived there your whole life, it's hard to tell what's safe and what's not.

I can't imagine being away from my mom for a long time lol anyway, I wish I would miss him but truth is, I'm used to a life with only him visiting us every christmas. (It's not a negative thing for me)
