I finished In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex by Nathaniel Philbrick maybe 2 weeks ago and I really, really enjoyed. It's written in a way that's really easy to read, and with how dry nonfiction can be, I think that's really impressive. It's not for the faint of heart though, so I don't readily recommend it, but if you take a glance at the Essex's wikipedia page and think you could handle reading more in depth about what happened to the survivors of the shipwreck before they were rescued, consider giving it a go!

I'm here to keep my promise from my most recent OMM post and complain about my previous job because I haven't had any other avenue to complain and it's killing me lmao: i mean haha silly gif time

Thanks for the congrats on the job guys! It was an absolute mess though lmaoo (which is why I didn't want to quote anyone and subject them to this haha) It only lasted a month, but it made the whole month of April absolutely miserable for me, and to make matters worse, midway through the month I sprained my ankle really badly. And it was a nasty enough sprain that I'm still sore 5 1/2 weeks later :''') I'll not complain too much ..here at least, I'll complain in another thread, but by the end of the first week of the job, I knew I didn't want to be there long term and realized they only paid so well because they had high turnover. However, I was able to find a new job pretty quickly, and I have a better feeling about it than the previous one. With the other one, while I was excited, I did have some persistent uneasiness about it that I couldn't shake in during the days between the offer and my starting date. With this upcoming one though, even though I am nervous about it, it pays nearly the same as the other place, but it isn't customer facing (nor is it the same type of work), so that alone makes me much more optimistic about it. Fingers crossed it'll go well! OMM: in my hello kitty and reading shipwreck nonfiction era rn and i will not be made to feel bad about it

i got the job lmao but really though I'm very grateful and excited it's going to work out. I'm going from part time to full time (from 20hrs/wk to 40hrs/wk) and will be working at an hourly rate nearly double my current retail job ;u;

@Akazora and I are working our way through LOGH currently. We started it back in December back when we had covid :'^) and we're still not done lmao We're on episode 37 and it's been pretty ok so far? It's good and enjoyable but I don't yet understand why so many people say LOGH is the best anime of all time

I'm slowly slowly slowly working through The Fixer by Bernard Malamud. It's not a long book by any means, I just only ever read before bed and I've been super tired lately so I haven't been reading much lmao

Been watching Parks and Rec a lot lately because it'll be leaving Netflix like October 1st iirc and for the longest time it was my go-to background noise show. I wanted to legitimately watch it a bit before it left but... I'm not sure if I genuinely like the show all that much c':

Think the last one I watched was Weathering With You back in February with Akazora :') ..neither of us particularly liked it and we drove through a snowstorm in an unfamiliar area to go see it 4/10 wouldn't recommend, but if you go in without any expectations you might enjoy it idk

My last post here was a half decade ago; I'll come back in 5yrs but I've been trying to gain some artistic skill lately so I hope 10yrs from now I'll have stuck with it and have some semblance of a competent artist
