Planned Murder

Location: Saruwatari's home

Victim: Kanzo Saruwatari

Culprit: Akira Kanieda (with the help of Eiichi Usui)

It turns out Akira Kanieda, with the help of Eiichi Usui to make an alibi, planned to kill Dr. Saruwatari to avenge Kanieda's mother who suffocated while sleeping because the dentures the dentist made for her were trapped in her throat. The plan failed when Kanieda was struck by a car, so Usui finally apologizes to the police and he receives a phone call from Kanieda saying that he didn't wanted to have revenge now because he thought that his accident was a "divine punishment". Incredibly, the culprit of Hachiya's attack was Sueko Kakimoto, who took advantage of the argument Usui had with the victim.

Afterwards

The Detective Boys ask Usui what happened to the old lady, and he answers that she faked her fall and that she was the troublemaker grandma everyone was talking about. Finally, the Detective Boys are happy because they solved three cases in a day.
