Situation

In Ayumi's illustrated diary, the events that took place were recorded as follows:

• On May 29, the Detective Boys, Conan, and Haibara played cops and robbers in the cloudy weather.
• On May 30, the professor took the Detective Boys to visit the aquarium in the cloudy weather.
• On May 31, Ayumi and her mother went to the flower shop to buy flowers to decorate the living room in the clear weather.

On the way to school, Ayumi meets Conan, Haibara, Mitsuhiko, and Genta again, and she expresses her boredom over the past few days to everyone. And so the journey to find a new case for the group of 5 people begins, as an increase in patrol for this week.

However, while on patrol, Ayumi notices that someone is following her, which often happens when she is with the others. Nonetheless, they arrive at the Mouri Detective Agency to look for a case, but they find Kogoro sleeping on the chair. It seems that the agency has not taken any cases today. They then go to the Beika Police Station to see if there are any reports of incidents, but it seems that the others didn't want Ayumi to take on these types of cases very much… Maybe they mean that they want to look for cases themselves rather than have someone else ask them like Kogoro?

And so, following Mitsuhiko's suggestion, everyone goes to a recently rumored cursed mansion. And when Ayumi knocks on the door, there is a woman disguised as a witch, from which Conan, Haibara and the Detective Boys learn that it was just a hoax. Then, following Genta’s suggestion, they pass by the Happy Valley Chinese Cuisine restaurant, famous for selling delicious food but is often unpleasant to customers, at an acceptable level. Next, Haibara suggests that everyone go to Kaneko's jewelry store, where some of the previous cases had occurred, but they are stopped by a man who is in charge of Ward 4 when they are about to take a shortcut because according to him, there are some bad guys in the way they are about to go who could be dangerous to the kids.

Everyone takes turns guarding the jewelry store and accidentally discovers a man who seemed suspicious but is just a luxurious customer. Then they meet a man carrying a bag that looks like a robber but is actually just a regular customer at the restaurant next door, (what was he carrying anyway?). Finally, they meet a man who Conan thinks is suspicious because his clothes would help keep his eyes and hairstyle, but then finds out that he was just someone who comes to clean the ring.

However, while Conan goes away to buy some food for everyone, Mitsuhiko disappears while he is going to the restroom, and his Detective Boys badge is also found nearby, making the investigation more difficult. At that time, Conan begins to review the events that have happened around him, and the time when he realizes that someone has been following her since May 29. Haibara suggests that Conan use Ayumi's illustrated diary to find more clues about the kidnapping, and when Conan notices the car near the Chinese restaurant, he finally knows about the identity of the kidnapper and manages to save him.
