=== Situation ===
==== Part 1 ====
+
A man running away from a police officer stumbles into the Detective Boys, grabs Ayumi as a hostage. But he suddenly collapses, with a big wound at the back of his head.
Kogoro Mouri heads home carrying a ton of prizes from playing pachinko, only to pick up a note from Ran stating that Eri Kisaki is undergoing surgery in Haido Central Hospital. Kogoro charges towards the hospital but sees that Eri had just woken up from her surgery. She kicks him out of her room, and Conan, who had been watching Eri with Ran, follows him.

Upon getting kicked out, Kogoro coincidentally meets up with Tooru Amuro, who is in the hospital to re-investigate the truth behind Shuichi Akai's death. Tooru asks Conan if he knew someone named Rikumichi Kusuda, a deceased Black Organization member; unfortunately, Conan makes up a bad lie, so Tooru finds out that Conan does know Rikumichi.

Meanwhile, Reina Suto, Katsuki Beppu, Tokie Happo, and Juri Kosaka (a hospital patient) are having a tea party, and a case happens.

The police interrogates each on the suspects one by one which reveals their possible motive; Tokie's former boyfriend was stolen by Reina and became her current husband, Katsuki lost large amount of money because of the stock that Reina recommended, and Juri's son failed an exam because he caught a cold from Reina's son. The three of them denies wanting to kill the victim, since it is not possible to switch a teacup with different colors to poison her.

He has no identifying papers on him, and in Beika Hospital, his situation is pronounced critical. Conan and the Detective Boys track the man back, realizing he had been injured for quite a while, and finally find themselves at the backside of Beika Hospital.

<spoiler>The culprit who poisoned Reina Suto is '''Juri Kosaka'''. Prior to event, Juri invited Reina over and suggested that they should have a tea party among friends. After Reina chose the Hibiscus Tea, Juri switched the tea with Butterfly Pea Tea and put a lemon on it, turning it slightly pinkish-red in order to trick Reina in to thinking that the tea was Hibiscus Tea the one she was drinking.
+
<spoiler>The culprit is '''Tatsuhiko Kido'''.
 +

 +
The proof is the smell of the paint stuck to the culprit and the victim. The two of them fought near a freshly painted bench, and the wet paint stuck to them. As the fleeing culprit tried to shake off the victim from his car, the victim's button tore off. The man was thrown to the ground and hit his head on the bench. Then, the man descended the stairs to the vacant lot below to get a taxi to chase after him. As further evidence, the victim's fingerprints match to the fingerprints found on the culprit's car window.

During the time that the three friends were looking at Reina's cellphone, Juri switched her own Butterfly Pea Tea disguised as Hibiscus Tea with a lemon that she applied poison on the rim in advance with Reina's cup. Afterward, she removes the lemon from the cup and adds baking soda inside to complete the trick. The evidence is a stain of lipstick on her finger, and that her tea contains high amounts of baking soda.
+
Kogoro, via Conan, revealed that the motive is the magazine clipping, on the back of which was an ad for a medical book that Dr. Kido wrote. One month ago, the man was on a train when his daughter fell ill, and had asked if there were any doctors available to help his daughter. At the time, Dr. Kido pretended not to be a doctor, or rather was stopped by the woman who was with him. He had a wife and child, and he didn't want to draw attention to his relationship with the woman travelling with him.

Juri's motive however, is not only because her son failed an exam due to the fact that he caught a cold from Reina's son (who Reina forced to come study at the Kosaka House to spread his cold to reduce his opponents in the exam), but because she was pregnant at the time. Juri had a miscarriage due to the cold and after hearing the confession from Tsuneo, decided to take revenge for Reina's selfishness.
+
However, the man later found out that Dr. Kido lied, and went to confront him with a knife. His daughter had died from a chronic illness that took a turn for the worse. It didn't matter if the doctor could have saved her back then; the only thing the man couldn't forgive him was the doctor for lying. Dr. Kido agreed, truly remorseful about what happened, and was sincere about wanting to save the man's life.

As Conan, Ran, Kogoro, Tooru Amuro, and Detective Takagi leave the hospital, Takagi states that Haido Central Hospital is cursed; previously, Rena Mizunashi was a patient of that hospital, an injured man forced his way into the hospital, and there was a bombing threat in that hospital. Fearing that information regarding Rikumichi Kusuda would be leaked to Tooru, Conan tries to send Takagi away from the others by reminding him that he should head back to the Tokyo police headquarters, since it was getting late. Unfortunately, Tooru was able to ask Takagi about Rikumichi at the last second, and Takagi says that in Rikumichi's car, there were bloodstains less than 1 mm across. Tooru deduced that Rikumichi was shot by a gun.</spoiler>
+
But, the doctor had a jacket with paint on it from the earlier fight. It was missing from the trunk of his car. Conan realizes that the man was in danger, and runs off to save him.

'''Natsumi Morita''' was the woman who was travelling with the doctor on the train. She had earlier offered to dispose of the paint covered jacket, but Dr. Kido refused. She was afraid that the doctor would turn himself in if he had successfully saved the man. She feared that everyone would find out that she was Dr. Kido's mistress.

The man wakes up and apologizes to the Detective Boys for getting them involved. Conan realizes that he forgot Kogoro on the wet bench outside, causing to glue to the bench due to the paint drying.</spoiler>
