Situation

Miki Fujino is found strangled at the park. Takagi then finds a stamp card on the ground next to the victim's body and realises it doesn't belong to the victim as she has one in her purse. They then decide to do a stakeout the next day.

However, while buying food at convenience store, Chiba is spotted by Detective Boys, so he has no choice but to bring them along to the stakeout. The stakeout this time also includes Kayo Mayuzumi, a woman who happened to discover the body and see the culprit but couldn’t give an exact description of that person’s face.

While looking at the Café Wheat and Beans, they notice a man wearing sunglasses and a mask that looks very suspicious, so the boys quickly go there much to the surprise of the others. However, it turns out that he just wants to confirm if his wife is cheating, only to find out that she has just been meeting with one female friend. Later at sunset, it is also revealed that Mayuzumi is farsighted while Conan and Takagi notice a person whose dressing is almost identical like the previous person and he happens to not have a stamp card, but in reality he just wants to shop at that store in peace because he is a celebrity named Ryo Naruoka. So they end up going home to have rest before tomorrow's stakeout. However, Conan remembers that Mayuzumi is actually farsighted, which means that she was shocked to see someone else that could actually be the real culprit.

Since Mayuzumi is farsighted, the reason she was terrified wasn’t because of Naruoka’s face, it was because of the face of the true culprit, Kazuya Ando. And the reason why she didn’t tell Takagi or Chiba was because she wanted to be credited with catching the culprit with the Detective Boys as they also wanted like that, only to be taken by Takagi and Chiba, whom Conan called for.

However, there is no effective clue as according to Ando, being a receptionist means you will always touch your customer’s stamp card, and Mayuzumi saw the culprit at night when she was walking along the street; which was not enough to prove it was him, and the recent act of attacking Genta and the woman could even be considered as a self-defense if he is not the culprit. Conan immediately counters that as:

• How can Ando know that the only evidence was a stamp card when it was only shared for the police, the only witness, the boys, and the owner of the coffee who guarantees that he hasn’t shared it for anyone else.
• How he knew that the woman was walking along the path where she met the culprit.
