Link to the Wiki Article Oversights in Detective Conan I have a test article set up where I hope to catalogue oversights in Detective Conan, that is errors, plotholes, omissions, etc. It is a new type of article in that it is going to be full of opinions a bit like how tvtropes works. I am hoping it will work out considering how well speculation sections are doing across the board. If you want to add something or a rebuttal, please follow the guidelines. If you have anything to add, or suggestions on how to improve the layout, I am open to advice.

Quit creating new topics to push your female culprit agenda. You have made at least three topics with similar themes, two of which went mostly unused out of disinterest. File 925 Right now my line of thought is that Rum probably has/will appear close to Shuukichi or the unknown child in order to tie them into the plot at large. Rum's reason for movement must be 1) something pretty important and/or 2) something only he can do owing to his particular public position. Even Sherry hunting was tasked to the lower-level codenamed agents. Maybe they found out someone is alive who shouldn't be. (e.g. Maybe the BO thought they killed Akai's mom, now the unknown child, but the BO intercepted a communication that seems to imply she lived despite being dosed with APTX. The BO don't know she has shrunken, so they are still searching for an adult woman. Masumi keeps moving her unwell mom between hotels to evade suspicion/recognition because Momma Akai is pretty-distinctive looking. Masumi wants to dump Momma Akai off at a safer location, like someone's house, but Momma doesn't trust anyone enough yet. Masumi is trying to convince Mom that Conan is trustworthy.)

While voting will continue, the take away so far is that it is really important to differentiate antidote cases vs flashbacks. Whichever solution is implemented in the end needs to keep this in mind.

It's a rare man who is impenetrable to sexual attraction, especially when it's someone like Vermouth who is asking for it. Somehow I think using a woman like her until he has no more interest and then not caring even a speck about her life after that makes him a colder villain than someone who has no interest what-so-ever, if that makes any sense.

That vinegar cups case is pretty interesting to think about as a foreshadowing case. The "fake eye is fake info" theory is a one take on the data. I actually came to sort of an opposite hypothesis. I forget where I posted this, probably the spoiler cbox, but it strikes me as particularly odd why all the Black Organization members disagree about obvious appearance facts that you would typically notice first about a person like whether Rum is feminine, manly, or old, yet all of them agree on him having a fake eye, especially when fake eyes are usually pretty subtle. One reason why everyone could be hung up on Rum's prosthetic eye is because it is so obvious and striking that everyone's attention is drawn to it to the exclusion of the rest of his features. Think about what would happen if Rum's prosthetic eye is obviously electronic and kind of creepy, while he dresses otherwise nondescriptly like in hat and bulky trenchcoat that covers him up pretty well? You would be too busy staring at his face instead of the rest of him. If asked what the rest of him looked like, you might not be able to recall clearly. A cyborg-like eye wouldn't be out of character for DC as long as there is a reason for it. We have plenty of eye related gadgets already, like Conan's glasses and Kaitou Kid's monocle. What's to say the Organization couldn't doctor up a fake eye gadget for their number two? And maybe to add the confusion he can pop it out in favor of a subtle glass eye when going out in public. That would be quite the cheat. Rum has a Mad-Eye Moody eye theory...

Anyway, on topic, I personally get annoyed with Shiho for the same reason I am annoyed with Shinichi - she keeps secrets she shouldn't because she fails to trust others and in doing so causes unnecessary danger to those around her by not offering up information in a timely manner. While I understand that she may have psychological damage from being in the Organization and good reason to think Shinichi might run off and get himself killed if she tells him too much, it would behoove her to explain all the capabilities of Organization members to Conan immediately and not hide her suspicions if she fears she is being investigated. For instance, the moment she sensed Vermouth she should have explained to Conan that they might be dealing with a master of disguise. Conan would have been more careful around Araide (and everyone else in general) from the start and avoided a great deal of trouble.

Yeah, I will have to flip the names and wikilink them and the episodes/chapters up and stuff. No worries there. The ?? notation can probably stay as is. A similar format was used in the Akai family timeline. James is shaping up to be pretty competent. I wish he actually did some stuff. I feel like he is the FBI's Yuusaku, but with more secrets. There has got to be some backstory between him and Jodie's dead parents.
