I could not listen to the opening for more than three seconds without pausing it. This has never happened before. That opening synth was PAINFUL to listen to. The use of synth by the Breakerz is just god awful. I mean... really... it sounds unnatural and awkward the way they use it. Then we get to the chorus (before that, if you take out the synth, it is dreadfully average), which I cannot discern from any number of DC Opening choruses. It is generic of the worst sort. If I paused it, and unpaused it with the screen off, I'm sure I could not tell you that it was from this song as opposed to another DC opening that uses a similar chorus. Ok, so the song was not good (It is borderline awful imo). The video... I don't know what to say... I don't get it... If "mystery" wasn't being repeated in the song, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't know that the show had anything to do with mystery. DBoys and wire cutters and a bomb? That won't end well. Walls of text reminiscent of Summer Wars? Throwing badges like Pokemon? WHAT THE HELL! Are they even trying anymore?

She's what you call a protagonist.

Different strokes for different folks and all that, but the song is awful (and I'm someone who has defended BREAKERZ before, but seriously, this is lousy) and the video is all kinds of bad in mostly hilarious ways. I'm all for the goofiness they go for sometimes, but this was just... I think "trying too hard" are the words I'm looking for here. They're simply trying a little too hard to make a OMGCRAZY opening sequence that they're not looking at the finished product and going "is this what we want people to see?" Even the bit with Haibara looked cheesy as hell.

I honestly never take openings and endings too seriously, but in my opinion, this particular one had no cohesion at all! It begins with Ran and Conan running together holding hands (with weird expression on their faces), then separating after the floor crumbles below them. Afterwards, Conan glances at the collage of Rans on the wall (stalkerish much?) and is trapped among protruding Japanese words flying around (which I believe are previous cases Conan was involved in). So the next part really threw me out of the loop when miss damsel in distress (Ran) stood atop of a pillar, and of course, Conan is trying to save her. But wait, there are "obstacles" that he must face before rescuing his princess! E.g. a wall of familiar words in which Heiji knocks down, a time bomb in which Pokemon Genta, Mitsuhiko, and Ayumi must defuse, a random cameo appearance by gothic lolita Haibara, several more cameos by recurring characters with Conan skateboarding passed them, and finally Ran helplessly freefalling off the pillar in which Conan catches her with his big soccer ball (not sure if that sounds right). So the whole point of me basically summarizing the events in the video is to point out how random and unnecessary some of the clips were. If the creators of this video wanted to feature a gothic Haibara, then make the video have a "gothic" tone to it or at least have Haibara doing something productive for the video. If they wanted to have characters helping him along his "journey", then make the whole video centered around family and friends helping Conan through his obstacles. I don't know. I think some of the ideas they had in mind were good, but it's how they portrayed them together that made the video as a whole terrible. As for the song, no comment. I mean when has a song in the past had relevance to the mystery aspect of DC? Almost never. So I'm not too bothered by it even though it sounds mediocre. But overall, I give the video a 3 out of 10.

I totally disagree. That isn't haibara's personality... She never was a killer, she just made a lethal drug. I think she is more inclined to torture him, which she has already technically done in canon at the hot springs.

I think she did have a choice. She could have helped Conan solve the case without revealing she knew about him or Ran and then decided to hang around because she enrolled in the same school as Ran and is interested in meeting famous detective Kogoro because she aspires to be a great detective too. The way I see it, Okiya and Sera are both good and thus don't care what the other party (Haibara / Conan) thinks of them as long as they do/learn what they need to do/learn. Tohru is slightly less obvious because he did do a better job of throwing his first case and coming up with an excuse to hang around. Also remember Bourbon seems to have an ego problem. Just like how Shinichi and most other detectives in the series can't contain themselves, Amuro may have problems with holding back his full intelligence on cases as well. I think a bluff like that is too risky and complicated, especially since she has drawn attention and suspicion to herself. Because Shuuichi had Haibara's picture (the one I showed you before), so Sera suspects Haibara could be connected with Akai's disappearance. Nothing is hard to believe about her backstory. It's just that if Sera is Bourbon she is making it a lot for dangerous for herself without a good reason when other backstory options are available to her. It doesn't make sense to make things harder on herself if she is Bourbon because she has options. On the other hand, if she is Akai's good little sister come to find out what happened to him, staying in a hotel makes sense because she lacks Black Org resources and doesn't think someone might go after her (which the Black Org is always wary of security wise). A hotel is less safe than an apartment, there is no getting around that. Sera may not think Akai is dead, or she doesn't know what to think, or she holds out hopes. I don't know which and it doesn't matter so much because the end result of the plot will be the same. You are mistaken about Jodie. She chased after him too. My point is that you can't narrow down who Vermouth called without making assumptions about the identities of the characters. No info was given for who might be on the the other end of the line for the other two (which would help eliminate one or two of the three Bourbon suspects), so you can't use the phone call as proof Sera is Bourbon. I think Vermouth called Amuro, but I don't claim that scene is proof of that. Absolutely. The FBI botched by ...Getting caught sneaking into Vermouth's office while she was disguised as Araide. Failing to notice Vermouth had followed them and collected their addresses Were tricked when Vermouth disguised as Jodie to call off the arrangement to capture Vermouth Confronted Rikumichi poorly which alerted the Black Org to Rena's position, Rikumichi would have also successfully called the Org had Conan not disabled his phone - the FBI overlooked that. Panicked at a digitally altered broadcast when the Black Org sent bombs to the hospital and gave away Rena's room location.

There was recently a Q&A event with Gosho called 青山剛昌先生と話そうDAY (Let's talk with Aoyama Gosho-sensei day) on January 3rd, 2012 at Tottori. You can see a brief video here, and some pictures can be found on this blog. According to this blog, these are some of the answers Gosho gave - also, she says that she left out some answers that she thinks Conan fans should already know. She also apologizes for possibly forgetting some answers. So far, this is the only blog I can find that reported on what Gosho said in the Q&A, so here they are! The emphasis is mine. This is more of what I think would be cool rather than what I think will happen. Gin I think would go down trying to kill someone, likely Shiho and maybe Shinichi because Gin's a jealous vengeful jerk. I'm thinking fiery explosive death. I marked it as "other" rather than suicide Gin's so hell bent on making someone dead that he doesn't care if he dies. Vermouth's death or not death would be awesome if she stole a permanent antidote from Shiho and takes it so she can revert to her normal age where she becomes decrepit and dies right away happy, or she escapes and continues living at the age she should be. I am not against a sacrificial death to save the protagonists though.

I believe that Shinichi will end up with Ran.But I also support Ai & Conan,They look so adorable together! However,I would LOVE to see Shiho end up with Akai! For me I think they're perfect for eachother,I know alot of people will disagree me but anyways I'm actully working on a site for Ai Haibara & Akai and I'll talk there with some details about the reasons why i love them and those kinds of stuff! :mrgreen: so yeah my favorite couple will deffenitly be Shiho & Akai!
