The culprit is '''Eita Nakamura'''. On the first part of the video, Nakamura accidentally showed himself when recording the footage, so Kurauchi arrived at the mountain to ask him something. Fearing that the secret might be revealed, Nakamura silenced the victim. It is also revealed that Kogoro Mouri was hired by the family members of '''Soichiru Kikumura''', the one behind the Stone Age man story, to convince the man to go home.

It is revealed that ever since the Stone Age man incident, Kogoro has been receiving calls to find their missing family members, all of which Kogoro replies they should call a rescue team instead of him.

Conan, Ran and Kogoro went to visit Hiebata City, which is using people from Stone Age as a way to revitalize the region. While in the mountains, the three discover a figure that resembles a person from Stone Age running away, along with a man's body.
