Jiro Kanai (金井 次朗 Kanai Jirō?), also known as Bell Sherwood (神木 鈴 / ベルシャーウッド Shiboku Rin / Beru Shāuddo?) is a Japanese organizer, storyboard artist and animation director. He takes part in the production of Detective Conan anime and movies.

Biography

Jiro Kanai has been working for the Detective Conan series since 2002, when he first did key animation for Movie 6: The Phantom of Baker Street; however, after finishing the animation correction work for Movie 11: Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure in 2007, he temporarily left the production team.

In 2016, he was back and started to serve as a regular storyboard artist (also storyboard cooperation) for the movies. He also began to work for the anime after that, having his first participation being the storyboard work of Episode 880: The Detective Boys and the Ghost Mansion. In 2018, he was involved in the production of openings and endings as well. When he worked on the Detective Conan movies, he usually partnered with Iwao Teraoka when drawing storyboards. In addition, he also took part in the production of Detective Conan spin-off story Zero's Tea Time in 2022.
