Without trust, you get nowhere though. Trust is the fundamentals in any relationship. It's like the mortar between the bricks -- without it, the entire house falls.

^

I hear the Incas didn't use mortar but got along just fine. :V

I can't just go around trusting people. They gotta do something to earn my trust.

Sometimes trust is an investment. You have to take a risk, trust someone, and hope they'll return the favor and the relationship will ripen to friendship.

Judging by your life, I wouldn't be surprised. But sometimes you have to go out on a limb. There will never be any situation where you have enough proof to 100%, without a doubt trust a person unless you've known them for a long time (and even then, there's always a chance that they've changed).

This is a quote that I found yesterday:

“To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure, but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.”

I know a bit about ancient history. I prefer it to modern history.

I find 'modern history' hilarious. It makes no sense.

“It's a strange world of language in which skating on thin ice can get you into hot water.”

Ok, fine, it does, but I still find the phrasing hilarious. :V

DDDDDDDDDDD:

Point proven.

It's corrupt, and falling apart at the seams. Censorship, wars, disasters, and riots everywhere. This world has failed the One Above.

True. Everything nowadays is fading fast. Not to mention, the States has been established for around 300 years now. Most civilizations only last around 300 years...

Heh, we Humans will be our own doom.

The US is collapsing. It began when trusts began to form, and it never stopped from there.

Agreed.

*sighs* Civilizations...it starts when people start pulling away from the original thought "for the country" to "for ourselves".

...Wait, why are we talking about this?

then stay

But if my parents see me on................................ =/

Conflicting emotions FTW! :D

:P

Anyway, I love this quote, yet I hate it (cuz it's true):

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

@Jean: Yep. :(
