Sparrow laughed, nervousness tinging the edges. "Uh, no re'son... I'm fine."
She smiled in Jackson's general direction as she added, "Jus' curious, Jacks."
The girl squirmed a little in her chair, acting uncharacteristically. "Uh... well... Misaki's 'ere, ain't she...?" she asked as a sigh fell from her lips.
"Soooo.... It's funny, really. On my way, I kinda, sorta... fought- 'im... an' 'e cheated. An' I can't see any of ya... haha, ain't that funny?" Again she laughed, her chuckles filling the otherwise silent room. "Just sayin', I didn' do anythin' reckless."
"It's not good to lie, Spar."
Misaki jumped just a tad at the sound of William's voice. I swear, he's a ninja... While the man did come to their meetings, he always had a way to blend in, hence making her jump whenever he spoke. As he put one hand on Sparrow's shoulder, he informed, "Jackson, sir, the weapon shipment got delayed by the recent Armed Forces attack. The attack scared off the trucks, so we'll be low on arms for a bit. I recently got word that Spar here chased off the entire attack nearly singlehandedly, but got hit by Blind Eye."
Her gaze fell upon the girl, feeling a bit jealous despite the temporary blindness that plagued her. What?! Sparrow got to fight?! Lucky~ Wish I had been there.
"We'll be without one of our best fighters, and low on arms," Jackson said, a frown falling onto his face. The mood in the room soured considerably from the news, including her. Damnit! Now of all times?
"It looks like we'll have to fall back on our regular operations, sadly. Unless we get Brent to lend a hand..."
Misaki could hear the shifting of weight, the slight discomfort of the mention of the 8th Battalion leader apparent. Brent was well known, and public opinion of him varied among the Rebellion. Personally, her opinion of the man was decent from being under his leadership for a year even though she ended up leaving due to lack of action.
"For now, we will hold off on our operations, and get Brent's assistance along with his entire battalion. Misaki, I'd like you to get in touch with him. Bring a team."
She straightened up at the mention of her name as she said, "Yes sir! I'll be back as soon as I can!"
And with that, she ran out of the room, grateful to finally be able to do more than listen to plans. She entered the streets, her speed the same as when she had left the room. She wasn't lying when she said she'd be back ASAP. But after a while, she could feel herself slow down, tiredness catching up to her. As she slowed to a walk, she contemplated whether it'd be better to rest and run or just walk when she heard a loud honk. Misaki turned towards the noise before letting out a small grin.
"Hey there Misaki! Long time, no see! Need a lift?"
