  1. After the announcement, people had started worriedly whispering amongst themselves "Does it mean that we'll die if all seven points are lost???!" "Noooo I don't wanna die!!! Not like Eiji! Not like that!!!" "What should we do!?" "No... I'm gettin outta here. Let's work together to get out of here..." A guy suggested as he borrowed someone's baseball bats. Some horrified girls nearby nodded and gathered around him. "On the count of three, we break the windows and jump out alright?" They nodded. What idiots. This will only end badly. "One...two...THREE!" The guy jumped up with his bat and smashed the corridor windows with the bat, causing lots of window pieces flying everywhere. "Now!" The frantic girls dove for the broken window in a frenzy, trying to get out. Suddenly, the sound of rapid fire filled the air, followed by screams. Misaki quickly threw her desk over on its side before hiding behind it. She was not about to get killed for someone else's idiotic mess. "Oh gosh...!" While she couldn't see the full scene, she watched as people not even involved fell to their bloody demise. Screams and tears and panic and anger was filling the room fast. "No! Kari-chan no... Im going to KILL YOU YOU MURDERER!!! f***ING A*****E!" Her boyfriend yelled angrily before grabbing a dead body and running out of her line of sight. Somewhat smart move, though rude to the dead. However, she heard the sound of an exploding body and then he was no more. Her eyes scanned the room (at least, what she could see of it), wondering if there anything she could do to help people. After all, helping is a great way to get favors and seeing how this game is going, she'll need them. "Argh!!!!" She heard Miyu cry as she crumbled to the floor. "Miyu!" Mao yelled as she crawled towards her, avoiding the random fire. "You alright?" The girl winced in pain as she held onto her leg. Perfect. Misaki immediately crawled over (thank god they sat by each other) , leaned over and whispered to the two, "Don't move." Out of nowhere, the voice boomed, "For those of you here right now, I still have not graded all the answers yet. However, Miyu has committed yet another rule infraction, and will receive another 1 point penalty." The voice paused. "I wonder if you'll survive by the end of the third day..." Again with the point infraction? What rule did she break? "Let me see that.." Misaki said as she tried to pull up the wounded girl's skirt to see the wound, though had her hand pushed away. "It's okay, thanks Misaki-chan," Miyu replied, teeth clenched. "The bullet shot through my leg. So it's okay. It will heal." "Rather than this, I'm more worried about the situation." she muttered. Sometime during the commotion, Hakuyan had joined them and after a while, it stopped. Misaki let out a shaky breath, one she hadn't realized she was holding. Finally, it was safe. Or rather, as safe as it could be. As she stood up, she took a look at the carnage. Multiple dead bodies, all riddled with gun shot wounds. Taking a glance at Miyu, she could see the girl going pale, likely from the loss of blood. So she went over to nearest dead body, saying quietly, "I apologize for ripping your clothes, but it's necessary. Thank you for your contribution." before ripping part of the skirt off. She then got the first aid kit from the closet making her way to the small girl and said to Hakuyan, "Hold her arms, would you? She won't get any medical help otherwise." With a nod, he did as requested. "H-Hey!" Miyu yelled. "I said-" "It'll get infected if you don't," she interrupted, getting annoyed at this girl. It was for her wellbeing, so she should except it graciously. Especially since it was her who was giving the medical attention! "If you don't get killed by everything else, you'll die from that. Now please stop complaining and let me do this." Without another word, she got out the disinfection liquid from the first aid kit, pushed up the girl's skirt (just high enough so that she could get to the wound without her pervert of a boyfriend seeing anything) and with no warning, poured it onto the wound. The girl yelped in pain, jumping in her seat a bit. Afterwards, she took the piece of skirt she had ripped off and wrapped it around her leg. Misaki tightly knotted it before saying, "There. All done."
  2. "It seems this puzzle is a little too easy. Hmmm. But I don't mind." The voice commented, sounding amused. "Miyu, Hiragi, Hakuyan, and Rose. You have lost 1 point due to breaking a rule. Trust me, you do not want to lose 7 points. You have 6 points left." Misaki could see the surprised looks on the named faces and to be honest, she was a little surprised too. As far as she could tell, they had done nothing wrong. Yet again, she was unaware of the rules so there was no way for sure for her to know if they had done anything wrong. Well, at least I didn't do anything wrong. I should keep it up...
  3. "A-a-alright, everyone. Lets...um...lets...." Misaki watched as the class rep desperately tried to restore order throughout the classroom. After a few minutes, Hakuyan jumped up on the nearest desk and shouted above the clamor, "Hey everybody! SHUT UP!" The classroom fell silent with the exception of a few whimpers. "Now class rep, what were you trying to say?" he asked. "Er...I just, um, thought, m-maybe we should use the b-b-buddy...system?" "Alright, you guys heard her! Buddy system, now! The one we use for emergencies!" "What the hell, man?! Nobody cares about some buddy system, we're all gonna die! We're all gonna end up like Eiji over there!" Hakuyan winced but countered. "We need to think rationally about this! Now grab your partner! It's better than sitting down and waiting to die! After you have your partner, write down your answers on a piece of paper and place it on the desk, like Miyu did! Got it?!" He jumped down as people started shuffling around before heading over to her. He was her partner after all and she wasn't going to come to him. "Hey," he said. Misaki gave a smile. "Hi." "Let's do this, shall we?" He ripped out some notebook paper and wrote down his answer before placing it in the teacher's desk. Their teacher had gone to the staff lounge soon after the announcements about the research challenge was made, leaving them alone. While he was gone, she listened to what others were saying. "H-hey, what do you think it is?" "Uh, 3, I guess?" "Yeah, 5 subtract 2 is 3, right?" "So," Hakuyan said, apparently back from setting his paper on the teacher's desk, "What answer did you give?" Without a word, she flashed her answer before folding it back up and placing it back on her desk. "What about you?" she asked.
  4. "Well well! We are glad to announce that for this year's research challenge, one of the teams in our class took the first place! I know everyone knows who they are! Come on up Misaki and team!" Misaki graced the class with one of her photo-worthy smiles as she made her way up to the front of the classroom, teammates close behind. She had known they would win. It was obvious. With her as team leader, it was only inevitable. Though she knew all eyes were on her (after all, why wouldn't they?), she could feel Hakuyan leering. It was nothing new, but still it annoyed her. My face is up here jackass. She sent him a discreet but pointed glare his way. "Miyu-chan, don't just sit there, come on up and receive your certificate!" the teacher added as she received her certificate. The small girl paused for a second before going up. She could see the disapproving looks on several of her female classmates' face as Miyu shuffled her way up to the front of the class. People can be so petty. Being annoyed with someone when it's out of their power. ~~~~~ "... And then I was all like, 'screw off!'" The group erupted in laughter at the funny story, Misaki included even though she didn't quite see the humor in it. Suddenly, the doors slam shut, the sound of locks clicking following afterwards, while all the windows close. Everyone was looking around in confusion while a few of them try to open the doors and the windows. They didn't open. She could see the panic rise in everyone, though she stayed calm. Panic will not make you smarter. It'll likely make you dumber. So keep calm Misaki. Keep calm. “Hello, everyone. No, escape is useless,” a deep voice boomed as a few students attempted to break the windows or tear down the doors. “You cannot escape from this classroom, which will now become your prison. Unless, you win my game.” Nervous chatter filled the room. One student proclaimed, “F**k you, man!” Without warning, he exploded. His remains flung all over the place, a few drops of blood flying onto her face, frozen in shock. Keep calm keep calm keep calm. As she wiped the red liquid off her face, the voice said, “The game has already begun." “Fine, we’ll play your game. What are your rules?” someone asked. The voice chuckled as it replied, “There are rules...but I cannot tell them to you. Good luck to all of you.” With that, the screen scrolled down and from the projector, the series of words appeared. "1) If there are five apples and you take away 2, how many do you have?" Misaki studied the words, thinking it through. Riddles were never her strong suit, though it looks like they'll have to become one. After a few minutes of mulling it over, she wrote down her answer and waited.
  5. (So sorry guys, totally spaced on posting MVRP (I blame finals)! So, without further ado, Round 9's MVRP is....
  6. Signing up for your round! :D

  7. (That will be decided by Sunday at the latest.)
  8. (Well, I'll call this finished since everyone seems to be more or less done, though if you need to you can add one more post to really wrap things up. And if you could tell me how I did and where I could improve as a mod, that would be great <3 But thank you to everyone who participated in this round!)
  9. (Get everything wrapped up people! This ends on June 7th, no extra time given.) The two had just gotten into the car when the call came. "Riess," Marie answered. "Your job is done." "Bu-" "You are done. Our initial assessment of the targets was found to have fault and as a result, has been changed. So you are done. Get back to HQ ASAP, understand?" "I understand Sir." "Good. I will see you then." And with that, she hung up. Andrew asked, "So what did the big man tell you?" "We're done here." "But we haven't gotten the experiments yet." "He said we're done. The experiments were not as much of a threat as first assessed." "Huh. So you call Moretti, I get the tickets?" "Of course." ~~~~~ Ziva laid in the cot, her eyes following the busy figure of one Grace Webb. She never did get why the woman was now helping them. Granted, she had been far more humane with them than any of the other scientists, but she still had been one of them. "Do you need something?" Grace asked, turning around and coming closer to the girl to make sure everything was ok. "Why?" "Why what?" "Why are you helping us?" The redhead paused for a moment before taking a seat by Ziva. She gave herself a few moments to think about the answer before saying, "Because it's the right thing to do." The barbary lion shot up from her lying position and yelled, anger from so many years coming to surface, "And yet experimenting on us was ok?!" The two kept on their eyes on the other, silence consuming them until Grace broke it. "I never said what I did was right." "Then why did you do it?" Once again, the redhead took a few moments to think over her answer. She then replied, "I suppose because at the time, I thought it was right. I was young, eager to make something of myself. I jumped at the first opportunity, though I grew to regret it later on." "So why did you stay?" "Because no one was allowed to leave the Habitat," she said. "Not you, not me. not anybody." Ziva let out a sound, one the woman couldn't quite define, before saying, "Water." A surprised look appeared on her face before giving a smile and answering, "Got it."
  10. As Moretti nursed his pained body, one of the back up members pointed to a hut and asked, "Um, sir, why didn't we go in there?" "Because!" he replied. "The GPS said so! See!" He held up the screen towards the speaker. After peering at it for a second, they said, "There's nothing there." "Wha- But- UGH. DAMNIT." He threw it towards the rock, smashing the screen into little bits. As if by magic, his cell then rang. By the ringtone he knew who it was. "Moretti..." "I'm sorry Boss! I didn't mean to break the GPS, I swear!" "Coming out of your paycheck. Now, any luck?" "No Boss... I think it's broken." "Well considering it was you who did it..." "No, I mean it wasn't working before I broke it." "I see... Well, we can revisit the problem later. For now, go to the station and oversee the police force there. We need that experiment back." "Yes Boss!" As she hung up, her partner said, an amused tone in his voice, "I see your trouble radar is still in peak condition." "What can I say," she replied as they pulled up in front of the hotel. "I'm just that good." "So this is it?" he asked, pointing at the luxurious building. "Yep. Now let's get going."
  11. He never did like the woods. Always full of things like ticks and poison ivy. As Moretti hiked at the front of the group, constantly looking at the GPS to see where they should be going. Finally, they reached the location, which was... A bush. They stared at it for a few moments before Moretti said quietly, "Ready everyone? On my count." With a nod from backup, he put up his fingers one at a time till he had three up before diving into the bush. Oh god don't let me die. (BTW, for those still writing, this ends on June 7th. On that day, if you're not done then I will kill you all either by shooting you, bombing you or whatever way I feel like killing you all on that day.)
  12. After the terrified man had run far enough from the experiments, he slowed to a stop and quickly dialed his phone. "Hello?" "It's... It's me Boss." "I can tell Moretti. Caller ID. So how did Mission Habitat going? Did you do your job?" "Um.... Well you see, I think I killed one, but I didn't get them all..." "....." "I-I'm sorry, I-" "I don't want excuses. Since you were unable to do it, get backup to do your job." "Y-Yes Boss!" Before she could hear any more excuses, she hung up. From the back of the car, she glanced at the GPS screen before showing it to the driver and asking, "How long will it take you to get us here Andrew?" The young man driving glanced at the screen before answering, "Around twenty minutes?" She opened her mouth to say something, but was interrupted by Andrew. "I know, make it fifteen." A small smile graced her features as she replied, "I was going to say ten." He let out a little laugh. "Then hold on to your hat Marie, because we're going to go at light speed!"
  13. "THIS IS THE POLICE! WE HAVE YOU SURROUNDED!" The first group of police officers kicked the door down before going inside, looking for others like the girl who had gotten them. Splitting up, each tinier group cleared rooms one by one. In the distance, sounds could be heard. A few brave police officers went to investigate, not knowing it would be the last thing they did. From outside, the captain in charge was holed up in the command truck, sending out orders to his men when suddenly the truck was filled with screaming. He jumped, quickly grabbing the radio where the sounds were coming from and yelled into it. "Hello?! Hello?! Do you copy? Answer!" When no response came, he was about to grab a different radio, starting with, "Team B, go-" when the truck's door flew open. As a woman stepped in, she ordered, "Stop what you're doing right now." An annoyed glare was shot at her as the captain responded, "Who the hell are you and what do you think gives you the right to tell me what to do?" She flashed her badge at him. "Marie Riess. Interpol. And unless you want your men to die, I would suggest listening to what I have to say." ~~~~~ As the Director roamed the halls, his phone rang. Quickly, he answered. "Yes?" "Sir! The police has found us!" ".... I see." "What should we do?" "Release the security measures and destroy everything." Without really wanting to hear the caller's voice anymore, they hung up. "What a shame to lose such nice experiments... Well, I best get everything ready...."

  16. The attack raged on as the scent of blood floated into the air. From an observatory room, the Director sat, watching the battle unfold. The assistant standing nearby could hear him muttering, though couldn't tell what he was saying. After a while, he announced, "As much as I have enjoyed seeing this development, it's best to end it now. Release the gas." "Yes sir," the assistant said as they pushed the button on the wall. Slowly, the pale white gas wafted into the area. In all the confusion, Xero still noticed the gas and yelled out, "Don't breath it in! It's sleeping gas!" But the warning fell onto deaf ears as one by one scientists and experiments alike fell to the ground and quickly losing consciousness. It wasn't long before even Xero was on the ground, asleep. ~~~~ As the experiments awoke, the first thing they saw were bars. Each and every one were in a separate cage, big enough to stand in and walk a few steps, but not much more. The cages were several feet apart, obviously done so to keep the experiments from helping each other out. The room itself wasn't where they normally stayed, filled with forests and other environments. Instead, it was a plain room, similar to the ones that they were tested in. Right away it could be told that not everyone was in the room. There were only five cages in the room. So, with nothing better to do, they sat. ~~~~ As they walked, Webb said, "I must say, that was surprising. I didn't think the experiments would be able to learn how to do that on their own!" "Well, there's only so much we can make them do," the Director responded. Hunt asked, "What shall we do now?" "Keep working on the serum. For now, we keep the experiments in the cages. It's not a good idea to let them scheme like that. WeI would rather avoid having another incident like that." "Understood. What should we do about 100?" "Keep doing as we've been doing." "Yes sir." With a nod, they veered off into a branching hallway as the Director kept going straight. Eventually, he came to a door, protected by a electronic lock. With a swipe of a card and a few punches into the number pad, he entered. The fennec fox looked around, wondering where he was. The cage was roomy, though the chain around his leg wasn't pleasant. As he closed the door, the Director asked, "Enjoying yourself?" "Would if I wasn't in this cage."
  17. The Director watched the fight with small smile on his face. As the emergency lights flooded the arena, they said, "This is good. Very good. We're off to a good start." Hunt smiled as he replied, "I agree Director. I think that, using the serum given to 99, we can make other experiments like her." "Do you have more?" Webb answered, "We are working on making more. What we gave 99 was just a prototype, so..." "That is now your priority. You two and whoever you need to make it with you will be dismissed from rounds until you make more. Once you do, report to me." In unison, they said, "Yes sir." With quick nods, the scientists left, leaving only the Director. "Very good indeed...." ~~~~~~~~ Xero, along with others, rushed up to Vivi as she made her way back from wherever they had taken her. "Are you ok?!" "You aren't hurt, are you?" "Come on, let's take care of your wounds." Chatter flew around as people surrounded the small child(?). Meanwhile, the fennec didn't join the group and instead headed towards the dark skinned girl standing behind a tree. "You don't do a very good job hiding Ziva." The barbary lion slinked out, saying, "Never said I was hiding." He glanced over to the group before replying, "You know Hunt is probably behind this, right?" She growled softly at the mention of the name. Xero continued, "Of course you do." "So what do you want?" she asked, golden eyes staring into dark brown. "After all, you've learned by now that talking to me without reason isn't something I like." "Merely wanted to know if you wanted to be of help to us." "Are you still wanting to escape?" "Of course! Don't you?" "Those who have tried before us have failed miserably and even if we do get out, we have nowhere to go. So why try?" "Because trying is better than excepting a fate we never chose and being used." As Ziva leaned against the tree she was standing by, she said, "Is that all? Because I'd like to eat now." "No, that is not all." "Then get to the point." "Look, I think we can initiate Operation Jailbreak." "And what does this have to do with me?" "I want your help." "And why should I?" "Because it would help your thirst for revenge against Hunt." "... I'll think about it." And with that, Ziva slinked back into the forest, leaving Xero alone.

  20. PLOT: Medicorps. Starting out as a small drug making company, it has grown into an internationally well-known corporation. They have made many advances in the scientific field and still continue to work towards revolutionizing the world. Anyone with a love of science wants to work there, be a part of the company. With Medicorps, if you have an idea, they will make it happen. To the world, they are known as an amazing company, with thousands thanking them for their work. Without their scientific advances, so much could have not happened. To the world, Medicorps is a miracle worker. But there’s more to the company that meets the eye. Hidden deep within several of their research facilities, are labs. Secret labs. These labs test things not for the sake of helping humans, but for the sake of experimenting on them, to see how much man can play God. To the limited amount of scientists allowed to roam these labs, it is called The Habitat. A place for the experiments to live, to grow, to be used for learning. In the Habitat, plenty of experiments happen. But the biggest one is genetic mutation. The small group in charge has managed to successfully mix the DNA of an animal with a human. They have had many successful experiments. To them, all is well. But not everything is well, for a storm is brewing in The Habitat. One that will break everything this small world has ever known. ROLES: Experiments: You’ve been in the Habitat almost all your life. You don’t exactly remember when exactly, but you know it’s been a long time. While you all treat each other equally (since you would almost never get such treatment from the people in the lab coats) some of the experiments here look a lot like the lab coat people, though their senses and abilities are far beyond what the lab coat people could ever achieve. Others have features that can only be described as animalistic. On some, a tail or some scales. On others, a set of wings or a pair of fangs. You’ve even heard there’s someone with gills. Everyone is a different animal apparently. At least, that’s the rumor that goes around. So far, it holds true. While there’s been plenty of the same type of animal, the specific species has been different. You see some people each day. All in white coats, they check on you. They mostly don’t talk to you though. They just talk to each other. They run tests on you, probing and yelling and so much more. You don’t like it. You want to leave. But can you? Can you leave the only world you’ve known for a new one? Max: 5 Scientists: People think you work for Medicorps, and you do. But there’s more to the company that meets the eye. But you know. You know the truth. You know what truly lies beyond the walls of the well-known company. You know of the experiments that are meant to mutate people, not help them. Of the children kept in the small rooms, where they never know of a parent’s love. Not that anyone here truly cares (at least, no one seems to care). No one talks much to each other. Not unless it’s about work. Everyone has their own agenda, following it as they please. So what is yours? Max: 3 NPCs: HOW TO SIGN UP: To sign up, please PM me your application that consists of the following: ~Name ~Age ~Species (Experiments only; be specific!) ~Appearance ~Personality ~Background ~Number, 2-100 (Experiments only) I will start taking applications right away, though you have until Tuesday, May 7th, midnight CST. The round will officially start at Wednesday, May 8th, midnight CST. QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE THAT I WILL ANSWER NOW: Q: How will inactivity be enforced? A: If you're inactive three days, you get a warning. Five days, you get kicked. If something comes up or happens that results in you not posting for five or more days, tell me. I'll try and help the best to my abilities. (By inactive, I mean you don't post/post one or two sentences every few days.) Q: Can we make NPCs? A: You may, though try and only make one. If you do make one, I would like a bio for them to post in case someone needs to reference it. And be warned, everyone has control over the NPCs made, myself included. Also, keep it so that it isn't OPed or benefits just you since I can and will rid of them as I see fit. Q: What if there are too many applications for one side (EX. 6 people applying to be an experiment when five is the max)? A: If that ends up being the case, I will choose someone(s) by using a random generator and ask them if they would mind switching to the other side. Q: What if I have a question you didn't cover? A: Then feel free to ask it either by PMing me or commenting on my profile! I'll give you the best answer to it that I can.
  21. When Misaki entered, the first thing she heard was gunshots. She quickly held up her Glock, still in her hand, as she looked around, making sure no one else with a gun was nearby. After silence, her body began to relax when she heard another shot. This time, she followed it to the source. As she peered from the corner, she saw one of the prey, dead. Blood crept from her body, two separate pools slowly merging into one. Gunshot wounds were present, one in her head and three to the stomach. For someone who had gotten shot, she looked... Peaceful. Standing by her was the idiot, gun in hand. She quietly followed, watching as the scene unfolded. "She is now dead," he said. "We have to use her." He pointed his gun at the Marker as he continued, "And I'll not kill you as cleanly as I killed her. Now you go to stand there as Raulen uses the thing." "Alright. Looks like we only got you left my dear..." Laurence smiled. He shoved her inside a standing capsule with red light, a squeak escaping from the Marker's mouth. Afterwards, he pressed a switch. The red glow grew stronger, temporarily blinding her. She closed her eyes to block out the light, and when she opened them, it appeared she was gone. A closer look and she realized that the Marker was still there, just obscured by the light. "Distort signal maximum. Synchronization rate maximum. Good. Now we can tune in to the next step." He stepped over to a larger container which the capsule is linked to. Above it labelled 'TRANSCENDER'. "Preparing transfer..." He keyed in a few buttons. The ground shook, causing her to brace herself so she wouldn't fall. Out of nowhere, a portal-like beam emerges from the centre ring in the container, gleaming with blue light. "Success," he smiled. "Now for the Finale." Laurence stepped over to a small door before turning the knob. From it stepped a woman, her brunette hair gently bouncing as she exited. "My lady. Everything went according to plan," he bowed. "All thanks to you Laurence," she replied as she smiled back. A look of ranging confusion covered the members of the room. "Both of you must be awfully confused now. So I shall explain." Laurence shrugged. "This was our plan all along! To eliminate all the prey to create the maximum distortion. And making use of our marker to create the highest synchronization rate! Keeping you guys alive was so that we can pull an act with Romeo since he found out about the plan! Well... Too bad for you~ Our ultimate plan is only to send my lady back to where she came from! If you didn't know, our lady was the first ever person to reach this world through a freak experiment accident. Won't explain how she got to this position but it wasn't easy. Finally we got here." "Now that you know why we require you, we don't owe you anything now. As such, we're leaving you now~ thank you so much for your help my dear~ you can keep the earrings. They look perfect on you," Juliet said as she smiled one last time before stepping into the portal, vanishing from sight. "Shouldn't keep my lady waiting," Laurence said as he shrugged. "Looks like my fate with this world has ended... I wonder how my lady's world looks like?" He let out a soft laugh before turning to the Marker. "Well then~ I'll give you a little advice. Once you leave the capsule, the distortion will start to go unstable and the hole in the worlds will increase. The synchronization rate will start to decrease. However, you still can pass through the portal within ten minutes. Any later, there will be no guarantee where you will end up in. You might even get stuck within the distortion void space forever. That's all the advice I can give. My lady's waiting for me~ see ya back in your world~!" With a wave and a grin, he disappeared from sight. Everyone stood in silence. By now, she had stepped out from her hiding spot, silently rejoining the group. Misaki watched as the Marker began to get ready to leave this world, saying goodbye to everyone (save the idiot). After a few minutes, she stepped into the portal and was gone. Once she was gone, only she, TJ and Tony were left, since the idiot had left them. After a few seconds of silence, TJ asked, "So... What now?" "We leave," she stated. "No point staying." They began to exit when Tony muttered, most likely meant to be a thought but didn't realize it was being said. Sadness and anger could be heard in his voice. "I can't believe she's dead..." "I didn't realize that you became found of her so quickly," she replied without missing a beat, knowing who he was talking about. Her cousin colored at the realization that he had been heard. TJ added, "At least she doesn't have to live being hunted. She's in a better place." "A better place than her home?!" Gently, she placed a hand on his shoulder and gave it a squeeze. "Calm down Tony. There's no point being angry about what has already happened." "Well you know what," he exclaimed as he tore himself from her grip and shoved her away. She stumbled back, for once being caught off guard as TJ caught her. "I am! Because unlike you, I feel human emotions! I'm not a cyborg like you!" Misaki froze, her mask falling just a bit as shock covered her face. He had never said anything like that to her before. Quite the opposite actually. As they grew up, she would constantly hear praise from the mouth of her cousin. The hand TJ had on her hand tightened just a bit as she saw the realization and regret overwhelm his face. He attempted to get the right words to apologize, stuttering, "O-oh... God, Cuz, you know that- Damnit, I'm so sorry..." "Don't apologize," she said as her mask slipped back into place, replacing the shock with an impassive look as she began to step out of TJ's hold. He loosened his grip on her, obviously not realizing he had tightened it in the first place. "You merely spoke your opinion." "But-" "Not one more word." She looked at him, tacitly telling him not to. He got the cue and stopped talking. "Let's go. We need to get Sakila's body before we leave." Shock painted across the others' faces as one of them asked, "But why?" "To bury her. Since you've seem to have become fond of her, it only seems to be the right thing to do." Truth be told, she didn't care what happened to the body. To her, it didn't really mean anything. But it meant something to Tony, and that's what mattered. It would give him closure and it would help him let go faster. Her cousin seemed to light up at the idea, as if he was a lightbulb turning on. "Great idea Cuz!" TJ nodded in agreement, also seeming pleased with the suggestion. "One of the best you've had girl." She smiled at them, though it was one that could have easily been missed for how slight it was. But they noticed. They always seemed to notice the small things that most would miss. But not them. Never them. They beamed grins back to her as they made their way the long hallway, the heels of their shoes the only sound heard. At the end stood a door, one she hadn't studied closely before but now could. The design was similar to the one she had gone through only days before, when she had been called for the Hunt. Funny how time seems to fly when so much happens. And with a creak, she pushed the door open, revealing the rising sun and the fresh, cool air. ~~~~~ (Woo, go unnecessary additions that don't add little to nothing to the plot! Probably the last post adding to the round. Thank you all so much for such an enjoyable round! It was a pleasure RPing with you all. KKLT, I think you did great with modding. You were very active and made sure to add twists at every turn. I hope you do another round~)
  22. "Alright then... Since I have promised someone that I wouldn't kill the survivors who made it to me... Even though they arrived not by themselves... they still arrived. But we will only try this with only one prey. The rest will be used for other experiments. Do you know how it works?" "I've gotten enough info from Juliet. I had made it such that she totally trusts in me. She tells me everything. Oh and we need everyone here to go. We will need to test each one of them for the most suitable candidate." "Alright. Now go Raullen. You too Alex. You go help too." And so, the group headed to the actual laboratory. Well, everyone but Misaki. She stayed behind, leaving her alone with the shadow man (who, by now, she assumed was Romeo). "Why are you still here?" he asked. "Because. I wish to know whether TJ and Tony will be used as experiments or not." "Of course not my dear!" he laughed, though there was something about it that didn't settle well with her. "Well just know this: While I do do whatever it takes to keep myself safe, I do the same for the few people I care for." "Funny, I thought you were supposed to be like a sociopath, and last I checked they don't care for anyone but themselves." Though she kept her mask up, behind it was pure shock for a few seconds before logic kicked in. How did he know?! ... Wait, of course he knows. It would make sense the organizer know everything they can about the hunters. "Well people change. And remember, I am like a highly functioning sociopath. There's a difference," she said as she departed, making her way to the lab.
  23. "But... She's a human! I'm sure she wants to live! Imagine her dying away from all the people she knows... As prey, Id rather die anywhere but here!" the prey who wasn't the Marker or Sakila shouted. She glared at her, obviously considering killing her for what she did. But she knew that she did the right thing. Fools are blinded by their emotions. Misaki, however, looks at everything without feelings unnecessarily blurring an otherwise very clear picture. "Well well, we need to keep going." The group turned around, revealing the idiot with a gun aimed at them. Figures he would follow us. "And thank you Misaki for executing her," he continued as he stepped closer. "She was in great pain." "Now shall we move on. I won't kill you. If you don't try to kill me." "Oho. The hunter stalking you misaki. I was talking about him earlier. Your friend?" Laurence asked. She responded tacitly, giving a look that suggested he was anything but a friend. Quite the opposite actually. A quick glance over to TJ and Tony and she could see them angrily glaring at the idiot. "Well you're Alex aren't you?" Laurence asked. "What great timing." So his name is Alex. Meh, the idiot is a far better name. More accurate too. He slid out from beside the group and moved beside the guy, pointing his gun at Misaki as well. Immediately, she had her Glock pointing at him, ready to shoot at any moment. "I'm an experienced hunter and I know many things just by looking at the situation. Even if I look goofy, I know many things, for example ... the person who injured the girl..." He looked at her, a knowing glint in his eye. She didn't respond, though she could pick up the slight confusion from the others behind her. He continued, "And this situation calls for extreme measures. Hey Alex, lets work together shall we?" The guy nodded in response. "Let's move people~ if you don't want me shooting down Misaki's head~" Like hell you will. "Wait... Why are you doing this? Aren't you with us? Aren't you on our side?" the girl responded, a shiver present in her tone. "Huh!?" Laurence chuckled a little. "I have never been on your side for ever a second my dear. I will only carry out my mission~ and if you disrupt my mission, I will not hesitate to get rid of you~ Now move." The group complied, Misaki because it would be troublesome to not to and everyone else because they were afraid for her life. Though she didn't see why, seeing how she had proven herself more than capable of killing someone efficiently and well, especially with her life on the line. It had only taken them 15 minutes to reach the roof of the building. There, a room at the other side and a small airship parked besides it was present. Right above them is the gigantic airship where Romeo, the organizer, could possibly be. Laurence forced them towards the room. The sign board above the room read "TRANSCENDER LAB". "Come on," he ordered as he made them enter. "Get in." In the room, there was two different pods, one glowing a pale, blue light while the other glowed a light orange. He pointed to the one glowing blue with his gun and said, "Enter that one. Now." One by one, they entered until Misaki and Laurence were left. She stated, "I assume this pod leads us to the organizer of this event." "Correct." "I would like to know his name before I enter so I know what to address him when I get there." "... Romeo. His name is Romeo." Responding with a nod, she entered the pod, followed by the other hunter. The blue light overwhelmed her senses, and by the time everything was back to normal, she was on the ship. The others were huddled together as the idiot kept a gun on them to keep them from misbehaving. Likewise to the room where they had met the woman, a large screen was present. As she stepped towards the others, it flickered on before revealing a man-shaped shadow. "Welcome to my airship. I see there are still prey standing. Did I not order you three to kill them all?" It was obvious who he was referring to. Misaki said, "I felt no need to kill them beyond the one I did kill because there are other hunters to do the job and I don't wish to waste ammunition on people who could be killed by others." Tony bursted out, "You killed Sakila?! Why?!" "I did as I saw fit." "But...!" "If I didn't kill someone, then I too would become prey. This way, it's less likely. I need to look out for myself." "Very wise words," the shadow man said, approval apparent in his voice. "And so? What about you two? What are your excuses?"
  24. "This is bad." Laurence stared down at Sakila, the pool of blood growing larger underneath her. "She's not gonna live much longer with that injury, especially in this situation. I suggest we relief her of her misery and move on. We don't have much time." The Marker hugged the girl tighter and yelled out, refusing to budge. "My my..." he said as he scratched his head. "What shall we do with this...?" He pressed a button on his watch. "My lady. An issue. Seems like one of the marker's friend got attacked and our marker is refusing to budge." "... I see. Any way to heal the friend?" "Unfortunately, with the time we have... Even if we do, there is still a chance she may not survive, with the game still ongoing..." Laurence reported. Misaki could hear a lack of pity in his voice. "Well, if she doesn't want to move, we won't force her. But if we miss this chance, we will never have it again. Let them make the choice." "...Right." Laurence sighed before turning to the rest. "There you have it. So what now? You want to give up the chance of returning to your world to save her? You all won't necessarily live after that you know? And one thing you have to know before you decide... Even if I am on your side, I AM a hunter and are under orders to kill you or face the wrath of the hunter society. I am, currently risking both my honor and my life for the success of this mission. I will therefore choose to kill her. BUT by orders of our kind-hearted master, I am giving you a choice. Now choose." Before anyone else could put in their opinion, Misaki whipped out her gun and implanted a bullet in between Sakila's eyes. She had had more than enough time to have final thoughts, so now was the time to end it. Silence fell upon the group for a second before the wails of the Marker resonated once more as Tony and TJ stared at her. "Why...?" one of them asked, obviously shocked by her actions. "She isn't going to live. She never had a chance. So there's no point trying to save a dead man walking when her death benefits more people."
  25. Once the others had turned the corner, Sakila slipped her wrist away from her hold and asked, "What about?" "Do you remember our conversation from when we first made an agreement?" The girl paused before nodding, "Yes. And?" Misaki continued, "I do as I see fit. And I think it's fitting that our agreement be terminated seeing as how you've fulfilled your usefulness." "Fine. Then terminate it." She said as she tried to move around her. Quickly, she grabbed a knife from her belt and stabbed it into the girl's arm. She winced in pain before instinctively raising her hand, finding the knife in her arm. As she ripped the blade out of her limb, the other girl gritted her teeth in pain. "I don't think you understand," she explained. "Terminating our contract means that we revert back to our original roles. I'm a hunter and you're the prey. I kill. You die." "Heh," Sakila laughed as she sank to the floor. "Not a shred of humanity in you, I see." "I wonder," she said as she plunged the knife down into her heart. Misaki wasn't a cruel person. She had always made sure her prey ended quickly. But for the girl, she believed that she shouldn't come to an end right away. No, she should be able to live for a minute or two and be able to have some last thoughts. She deserved that. Sakila let a out a soft, pathetic cry. As she walked away, she said, "I'd say it was nice working with you, but it really wasn't. I usually don't get shot at that much." Leaving the knife where she put it, she made her way back to the rest of the group when she heard footsteps coming towards her. "Who's there?" Misaki asked, looking around the area. She could still hear the breathing of the person around, but chances was that it was no one important. Likely one of the girls Sakila was with. So she made her way back towards the group, moving as quickly and quietly as she could. It only took her a few minutes to make it back unnoticed. A quick look at the group and she knew that her guess on the person who she noticed back at the kill scene was from the group. The Marker (who's name she didn't know nor cared to learn) was missing. The group stopped on their tracks when Laurence asked, "Say, where is Kai and Sakila? They're not here." Everyone looked around, though no one responded. In the distance, they could hear the Marker yell out, "Kuro-chan!? .... "Kuro-chan?!!"" The others' worried faces were apparent as they began to run to where the girl's voice was coming from. Misaki followed behind, walking casually. There was no need to hurry to a dead body after all. It would still bet there no matter the pace they went. The loud cries came closer as they kept running, though they also got farther as they kept running (a sign that the others had no clue where to go). "Kuro-chan? Kuro-chan? Kuro-chan!! Sakila...!!!" Eventually, they managed to get to the girl, bending over the limp form of the other, both covered in blood. And as the others stared, the cries and wails of the Marker echoed throughout until they could be heard no more.
