It's preferable to know your kanas before starting that, but that's done relatively quickly (I learned them in 4 days in a very academic fashion : writing them over and over again).

Last time Shinichi appeared in a movie (the seventh one), it was a disaster. As for the episodes, let me remind you that he didn't appear (I don't count flashbacks) between episode 193 and episode 521...We're still far from that, besides, . Also, Shinichi's appearances are supposed to put people in danger. We can't have him appearing too much because of that (flashbacks excepted).

To those who would like to study japanese (and particularly kanji), I suggest using James Heisig's "Remembering the Kanji". I've been using the french translatd version (since it's my first language) for about 2 months now and I know how to write a little less than 1 000 kanji. I use this site to train and make sure I remember them properly on a long term basis. The issue with that book is that it doesn't teach you how to pronounce or use them in a sentence, but I think that mastering hundreds of kanji is already a big step, though only a small one in fully mastering the language, obviously.

I don't think it's a mistake. The episodes where new important characters are introduced better have these characters in the corresponding opening. However, since they change the openings when new songs are available, they don't always exactly fit with the given episode.

It's mostly the old soundtrack that I listen to (the new one isn't out yet and it sucks anyways).

It can work for 2 or 3 part AOs, usually there's one or 2 a year, luckily there's one which is currently airing. I think it's the blond guy (the cameraman) because he was the last one to arrive to te scene, I'm waiting for 604 to be subbed to confirm or change my opinion.

THe Vermouth Arc, from 176 to 345, with both ends (176-178 and 345) being my favorite BO episodes.

I hope he's not because it's a different universe. Kid being part of the main plot would probably be nothing else but fan-service.

I have what's available in my country : 63 volumes, 5 movies and 30 episodes. I wish they'd release more episodes on DVD since they dubbed up to 214...
