I read that book back in middle school. I don't remember a smidgen of it. I didn't even remember I read that book until you mentioned it. This may not be very good news, because I remember only the really good books from my younger years.

This thread is too damn active. Almost didn't see this post directed at me since it was buried under 5 or so pages. Animal Planet used to be worse than Discovery and NatGeo years ago, but it was still pretty good. It's gotten slightly worse but not to the extent that Discovery and NatGeo have. It's funny how it's surpassed its rivals while getting worse at the same time. The "Surprisingly Human" phrase is relatively new because I don't remember seeing it when I started following that channel back when I was a wee lad.

I've never played mahjong.

I've seen all of these, and Akame ga Kill is the only one of the three I would not recommend. I could go into details as to why, but this post may turn into a rant.

In our school, NHS tutors do their tutoring in the library and there are no food or drinks allowed in there. So, more evidence we aren't going to the same school, I guess? Shigatsu started off great but has run stale unfortunately. I used to like it a lot, but now the only thing I can appreciate about it is the art and animation, and occasionally the music. The characters are unbelievable for being middle schoolers, the plot develops far too slowly, and the metaphors and symbolism falls flat and feels pretentious. It's a real shame, because music has been a huge part of my life and I thought Shigatsu would be the anime for me. However, it doesn't portray recitals accurately at all. That being said, it's still one of the better than this season, but definitely behind Parasyte and leagues behind Fate/stay night: UBW.

To my knowledge it already aired in Japanese theaters. Most people thought the CGI parasites were done rather well but that the series felt watered down compared to the manga, as is expected. I think it's only going to be just this one single movie, not a series of movies, though someone is going to need to fact check this. I want to avoid accidentally spoiling myself. Either that or I'm feeling really lazy.

11 episodes are out and there will be a total of 24. This will be enough, from what I've heard, to adapt the entire manga so you're guaranteed not to have a cliffhanger or wait for a second season. I really like it, and the episode that just came out today was pretty awesome. Watch a few episodes and see if it's your style. I was actually losing a bit of faith in the series the past few weeks, but episode 11 nailed home exactly what drew me into the series in the first place. Glad my rather long post was not for naught.

To say something a bit more on topic, just played a bit of Mario Kart DS since I'm not really allowed to play MK8 right now and am using MKDS as practice. I'm a bit of a scrub at Mario Kart, because I can't snake for my life and I almost never use that small drifting boost thing. I'm working on getting gold trophies in the mirror 150cc Grand Prixes, but Rainbow Road is giving me one hell of a time. Already unlocked all the characters, and once I can conquer Special Cup I'll move on to the missions. It was a pretty fun little game and worth the bit of effort I've put into it thus far. Don't know why I haven't given Mario Kart a chance until as old as I am now, though I guess most of my friends have been more Smash players.

Wooow, I feel dumb, and OoT was one of my favorite games, too. Don't know why I didn't get the reference sooner.

You scared me for a second. I haven't learned any of that stuff yet, and probably never will considering my teacher seems to stick rather closely to what we need to know for the AP exam.

Oh man, I've heard some awesome things about that movie. Can't believe I have such a huge backlog of movies to watch. Still haven't gotten around to watching Snowpiercer yet.
