"My, that girl has the imagination. Although, I can't blame her, given her mental condition." Mark stood up. "Some of you may have came through the airport and noticed a disturbing scene involving a girl kicking a boy. There was much blood. I would like to inform all of you of this: this girl is the perpetuator." He looked around, and satisfied at the attention he was getting, continued. "If any of you doubt her involvement in these actions, I have video proof, though I will refrain from showing it at this time."
"Do not believe anything she says. She is unstable, and cannot be trusted." Mark's expression was serious. "I have been entrusted with legal guardianship over the girl, and I will make sure she does not commit any further actions of violence." Same lies he told Ash. However, the people seemed to believe it.
"Of course, I did not do anything she claimed I did. I did not threaten her. I did not claim that I can kill her 1,917 times. I do not know anything about this plan she mentioned. Once again, she cannot be trusted."
The effect on the room was subtle, yet Mark was pleased. He managed to cover up everything, and there didn't seem to be a single shred of doubt. He marked this 'Sakila' as unstable, making sure her arguments would be ignored. As for the legal guardianship papers? Yes, he didn't have any, and he couldn't fake them. He could claim he left them in America. The Australian authorities have no power to force the American government to reveal the non-existent papers, anyway.
A plan was coming into Mark's head, and Mark admired its completeness.
(My character is a real jerk, isn't he?)
