  1. It's not a clue, it's a given. Well, it seems to prove that Subaru is indeed Akai, but why does Aoyama chose to reveal it ? He could have used that card for the big resolution. There is also the possibility that Aoyama is trying to mislead the reader by showing similarities between two characters and heavily suggesting that they are one and the same (he did the same thing during Vermouth's arc with the "A secret makes a woman woman"). Well, honestly I don't know. Maybe he DID reveal it, but then there should be a reason.
  2. I don't like the end of Adventure 02 too, but that's not because of the romance. The ending is just childish, a world all goody-goody where the ends of Adventure, Tamers, Savers and Xros Wars 1 were much more mature. Also, I didn't like the way Vamdemon was reintroduced. I wonder how fans will react to the idea of Taichi becoming
  3. I like Digimon Adventure ! It's one of my favorite season of the franchise after Tamers and Savers, the characters are interesting and the Vamdemon/Myotismon arc was absolutely great. I didn't like so much Adventure 02. The characters and the storyline weren't as interesting than before.
  4. It surely happened but I wonder who is troubled enough to do that kind of thing here (no, I don't want to know !). I didn't imagine it could happen here though. Surely, it would be pretty naive to think that a person who talks about sex is looking for romance. They just can't be trusted.
  5. To be honest, I don't remember the boss being adressed as "he", but I read the french version and there are some mistakes in the translation. Not that I know. But it could be for Kobayashi because she was transfered to Teitan from another school. That would clearly not be the boss as I imagine him to be. But I am almost sure that the boss has a affinity for the children song Nanatsu No Ko, according to his phone number and the fact his agents are dressed like crows. Whatever the reason, it's already weird that the boss of a criminal organization has an affinity for a children song. That, I can't say. But I know Aoyama has said that, during the Vermouth's arc, he established the whole main plot and that, from this paper, the identity of the boss could be guessed. Kobayashi was already introduced by then, though she was still a minor character.
  6. Shiho Miyano: Unfortunately, we mostly see her in her child form (but I love her attitude though). But as an adult, she has a nice body. Miwako Sato: Who wouldn't fall for Miwako ? Vermouth (in her Chris Vineyard appearance): THE femme fatale ! Ran is also cute though, but I don't find her to be that attractive. She's too much the stereotype of the girlfriend, too pure and almost a little stupid. Well, at least this girlfriend character doesn't say "Kurosaki-kun" everytime she opens her mouth. lol !
  7. The new opening is "The Everlasting Guilty Crown" by EGOIST (the fictive band from the series) so it's possible it was the song Inori was talking about. The new ending is "Kokuhaku" (Confession) by Ryo of Supercell. Source: Animenewsnetwork I can't believe The last episode was an absolute blast ! I wasn't expecting everything that happened in it, and I can't imagine what will happen next. There are so much mysteries. And the main action sequence of the episode was just awesome ! A blast ! Guilty Crown - Departures
  8. There are a lot of parallels with Code Geass and Evangelion. But I don't remember that the two series have the same director but the same scriptwriter (Ichiro Ookouchi). And I love the OST ! I just learned that it will be on sales on January 25th in Japan. I think I'll buy it. The last couples of episodes were a masterpiece ! So unexpected ! I can't wait to see what happens next ! I just hope Ayase will be part of the survivors, I absolutely love her character ! Aside from that, the series must have a new opening and a new ending soon, meaning we will enter in the second part of the first season. It's been revealed Guilty Crown is conceived to last two seasons.
  9. It is maybe the worst idea I've ever had, and I would be disgusted if this person is the boss (because I like that character), but some elements seem to be in adequation with what detectiveshinichi said a year ago and with the Anokata wiki page. Nanatsu no Ko, the melody behind the boss phone number, is a children song telling the story of seven baby crows. While it could be a coincidence, according to Akemi Miyano, Black Organization members are dressed in black like crows. So there is a huge possibility that the Nanatsu No Ko number is indeed deliberate and that the boss has some kind of affinity with that song. While at the same time, it seems unlikely that the boss of a criminal organization would have some liking for children songs. Children songs are more adapted for a elementary school teacher like Kobayashi whose love for children is well-known. Weel, except for Agasa, Kobayashi is also well known for her love for detective stories. But, unlike the professor whose quizzes are lame, Kobayashi was shown to be able to create good mystery games from the names of the children, showing she has some ability. Seriously, who could imagine Kobayashi being the boss ? Even now, I find it hard to believe. Kobayashi was introduced in file 154, some time before Haibara's first appearance (to which she was present), but she became a more recurring and important character from chapter 505 onward, during a plot set just between the showdown between the FBI and the Black Organization at Mouri's agency and Eisuke Hondo's first appearance. In Zeta Gundam, Hayato Kobayashi is the leader of the Karaba group Amuro Ray is part of (if the speculation about Tooru being a BO member are true, which I still doubt to be honest). So there is indeed some connection between the name Kobayashi and the leader of an organization in a work Aoyama has acknowledged. But it's not a decisive evidence, far from it ! Gin often calls the boss "that person" which doesn't allow gender's identification. But maybe there's more. Maybe he says "that person" because he doesn't want to be more explicit. Maybe he doesn't really like the boss, while still obeying its orders. And I could understand why he wouldn't like someone like Kobayashi. The french version confused me on that one. "L'homme avec qui vous avez - paraît-il - une aventure est-il présent aux funérailles ?". Meaning she has a male lover. I thought it was either an allusion to the boss or to Gin. I was wrong for Gin. Vermouth and he haven't made a "martini" for quite some time when they met again in the jazz restaurant. But the french version was in fact assuming that Vermouth's lover was a man. In fact, in the english translation, the gender is unclear. They just say her "lover". So the lover could be a woman. To be honest, it's hard for me to imagine the kind and child-like Kobayashi being the boss, but that's also why I haven't thought of her until now. Even if she is indeed the boss, I don't think she's faking her care for children (her vocation wouldn't have anything to do with Conan and Ai, but she would nonetheless be in good position). She loves them as she has some kind of childish nature herself. But maybe she doesn't love everyone as much as she loves children. There are also some strange comments by times like "I'm worried about the ones that sneaks behind our backs without showing themselves, like Vermouth." (during the case which marked Kobayashi's return in the series as a more recurring character) and "Believing women will never change is just the wishful thinking of men. They will change, giving men a taste of their own medecine, Angels can also change into demons. The heart of a woman is like the weather in Autumn !" (which sounded like a warning to Shiratori. It was during this case that the love story between Shiratori and Kobayashi began). Now, the three main reasons I have difficulties with Kobayashi being the boss: -She really doesn't seem like a bad person at all and it would be hard to imaginate her as the boss of an important criminal organization while she has difficulties with a class of elementary students. -She is 26 years old. And it's not faked by fountain of youth or whatever because she met Shiratori as a young girl. The boss is surely an older person. -Haibara doesn't feel anything near her. Meaning a lot of time. But maybe that could add to her "surprise". But I also admit those are preconceived ideas with no elements corroborating them. We just don't know much about the boss, but from what we know Kobayashi could fit the pattern. But that wouldn't be at all the boss as I imagined him/her to be. Or else, as I said at the beginning, maybe that's the most stupid idea I've ever had. And I hope so because I would be shocked. I like her character and she is close to the detective boys (especially lately). She just seems to be a kind and honest person, like Ran.

Although the first three episodes were quite basic, the series slowly proves to have a strong storyline and very elaborated characters. The OST is a masterpiece, one of the best anime OST ever ! 11. Digimon Xros Wars is the current installement of the Digimon franchise since 2010. It is composed of two seasons which are the sixth and seventh of the whole Digimon franchise. 13. Well done Aoyama ! I haven't thought the story could continue in that direction. The real question is "why ?". Aoyama could have ended the suspense. But I was wrong. Subaru is clean (Haibara trusts him) and there seems to be no reason to still consider him a suspect. I also think it's highly unlikely that Amuro could be Bourbon because he is now the prime suspect (the trick being that Scar Akai may not be Bourbon). That would mean... Masumi ?
  14. Glass Heart

    Bourbon

For the poll, too bad we can't double-vote. I selected that Subaru Okiya is Bourbon because that's the main question, but I also think that Tooru Amuro is indeed Scar Akai (to me, the whole thing is that Scar Akai isn't in fact Bourbon despite what we are naturally led to believe). My line of reasoning is the following: Tooru Amuro and Subaru Okiya both knew Shuichi Akai. Subaru is Bourbon. Tooru Amuro is Scar Akai but, for some reason, his disguise is meant in such a way that it would be obvious for someone with detective abilities and who knew Shuichi Akai that he isn't the real deal (right-handed, burnt on the wrong side for those who saw the murder...). Seeing Shuichi Akai appearing, Subaru comes to investigate. To see him closely allows him to deduce Scar Akai's true identity (Tooru Amuro). Spotting the BO agents on the streets, he contacts the boss and Vermouth to tell Gin (with whom he doesn't get along) to let Scar Akai leave for some reason. Gin wouldn't like Bourbon's methods and he would be pissed off, but he would obey an order coming directly from the boss. As for Conan, I think Scar Akai has left him some kind of message with the text message to Kogoro. "Flag signaling is used when it's difficult to convey verbal messages." "The above are my deductions. Hurry and complete your investigation so that we may be released." I wonder if this message was really only meant for Kogoro or if Scar Akai tried to make contact with Conan without revealing himself directly. Of course, he would know him somehow, given the fact that he also saved his life by the past. As for Masumi Sera, I think that she is indeed searching for her missing brother and that she thinks Tooru has some informations on his whereabouts.
  15. A topic for the newest adaptation of the manga favorite Berserk. It will take the shape of a movie saga which begins with a trilogy adapting the Golden Age arc. The first movie, Berserk - The Golden Age Part I: The Egg of the King, is set to hit the japanese theaters nxt february. Berserk is a dark fantasy story. Guts, a brutal mercenary with a traumatic past, joins the Band of the Hawk after losing a bet with its leader, the charismatic Griffith. Through his life as Griffith's subordinate, Griffith evolves as a more respectable warrior and shows signs of care of those around him. Becoming Griffith's trusted right-hand man, he develops a harsh rivalry with Casca, a proud woman soldier who devots her entire life for Griffith. But even she would eventually softened to Guts. But the day comes when Griffith finally attains his dream of his own kingdom. That's the day when Guts decides to leave and to follow his own path, abandonning his companions. But Griffith could never accept to lose his most trusted soldier... For those who don't know the original manga, Berserk is known for its brillant story, one of the best dark fantasy story ever, but also for its strong violence and for some controversial sex scenes (which are a little too explicit), including love scenes (especially one scene between two major characters, brillantly conceived and brillantly drawn) and rape scenes (most notably the infamously known rape scene of a main character: the scene itself which is almost unbearable but also the consequences which deeply affect the characters and the story from that point). So, it's some kind of mature reading. Not really a title that anyone can read. But honestly I don't think we can expect much sex scenes in the animated movies. lol !

    .

I am thrilled and eager to see the result. There are four Meitantei Conan games on the DS and I was so desperate to play them that I was ready to try to learn japanese. It's fantastic that one of them finally got to be translated. I also hope that Aoki Houseki no Rinbu Rondo will be translated one day and the other. I've seen the beginning of all four games and Conan VS Kindaichi and this one seem to be the more interesting games of the four.

    Code Geass AMV

Since it's a topic for AMV, it's not mine, but I've seen this awesome fan-trailer. It's an excellent work, just awesome ! Unfortunately, it spoils some major twists so don't watch it if you haven't seen this series yet. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xh5oho_fan-trailer-code-geass-lelouch-of-the-rebellion_creation#rel-page-1

    Code Geass

The story is set in 2017 on the european war front. It's likely that characters from Lelouch of the Rebellion will appear, but the main characters are new. Only three characters have been revealed so far: Akito Hyuga (the main character, described as a Suzaku-type character. He's japanese soldier on mission in Europe), Layla Malkal (an european soldier, rumored to be french) and, on those pictures, a new unnamed female character.

  23. I just came back from the theater. I've seen The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn. The movie is by far superior to what I was expecting. This is easily one of the best movies of the year. The Spielberg that directed Tintin is exactly the same Spielberg who directed the masterpiece Raiders of the Lost Ark so many years ago. It's both a blockbuster and a movie extremely faithful to the original comics by Hergé. The story is mainly based from Secret of the Unicorn and The Crab With the Golden Claws and the result is awesome. It's like Hergé has come back to deliver the perfect adaptation of his own work. The story is mainly about the quest for three parchments leading to the hidden treasure of the Unicorn, but it's also the story of the redemption of Haddock, a drunken sailor who has to restore the pride of his fallen lineage. This is epic and, at the same time, incredibly funny, Spielberg introducing thousands of ideas every single minute of the movie. I loved it ! I really loved the movie ! It's clearly one of the best comics adaptation I've ever seen ! Now I can't wait for Peter Jackson's Prisoners of the Sun ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=op3w_ICK4us
