1. And Watson would be the type to relay deductions, not come up with them, himself... like relaying a hint in order to complete a deduction after hearing it from an earpiece. If Shinichi Wada is this character's real name, then I'd say it's more likely that he was relaying that hint to Shinichi/Conan, Heiji and Rei/Toru from someone else (and that it's also more likely that he is to Hina what Shuichi is to Masumi). If Shinichi Wada is a false name that he came up with, then I'd say it's more likely that he did deduce the case himself, and (at least in this particular situation), is smarter than even Shinichi/Conan, Heiji and Rei/Toru.
2. At least it was actually corrected—at least it was considered a mistake that needed to be corrected.
3. I get where you're coming from—quite frankly, it's on my list of probabilities, not just my list of possibilities. The 982 spoiler pics and file summary came out alongside Episode "One," a remake of DC's first case, which introduced our main character, Shinichi, and had Hina Wada in it, and, at the end, premiered the first trailer for Movie 21, which has Momiji, a Hyakunin Isshu champion, in it, and Hyakunin Isshu is apparently going to play a big role in it—quite the timing, if you ask me. Even so, I'm expecting Shinichi Wada to be a plot character.
4. That's called stretching/reaching for explanations. As in, it requires leaps to explain. Which means it's unlikely—incredibly unlikely. And really, the only purpose of Kogoro being the Boss would be just for the sake of having a twist—there'd be no point to it, beyond the twist.
5. There's nothing about Elena and Mary. https://www.facebook.com/DCTheRedThread/photos/a.1276136195771664.1073741920.508258949226063/1276134822438468/?type=3&theater
6. One already exists: http://forums.dctp.ws/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13186&sid=dc82875d5e326153a3251cafe5f9fea9
7. Probably so they could release it alongside Movie 21, which is about romance (Heiji and Kazuha's will take center stage, of course, but there'll be Shinichi/Ran moments, too—thus, April 2017 will be replete with Heiji/Kazuha and Shinichi/Ran).
8. That's Gosho's signature, nowadays—it's a Kid signature... with Gosho's face, instead.
9. By that, Serinox meant that it's all but confirmed. After all, in the recent Singapore interview, Gosho confirmed that... So, at this point, it's just a matter of waiting—it's going to be confirmed, but we just don't know when.
10. Meaning we can expect 983 spoilers on the 23rd. Given that the issue 983 will come out is also a double issue, we can also expect 984 spoilers on January 6th (unless Gosho decides to take a "gathering info" break, on top of the double issue break, in which case we can expect 984 spoilers on January 13th). So: File 983 spoilers: 12/23 File 984 spoilers: 1/6 or 1/13 On a side note... I apologize for the incorrect spelling of the title of this thread—it should be spelled "Butsumetsu," not "Bukumestu." And I would've named it "Killing Time at Café Poirot," but 981's title hadn't yet been translated, when I made the thread.
11. They haven't been. All Gosho has said is that two characters who are mothers will eventually be revealed as sisters. Any time he's been asked, "Are Elena and Mary sisters?", he's given a non-answer answer.
12. Thanks for the clarification. EDIT: 981 text spoilers, translated by Spimer from DCTP: No break next week (12/12–12/16)—so expect 982 spoiler pics on 12/9—but there will be a break the week after that (12/19–12/23).
13. RULES 1. Please use spoiler boxes until a full English translation is available. 2. NO DIRECT LINK to any Japanese scans (RAWs) or English scans (Japanese spoiler images are allowed as long as the amount and quality of which are very far away from a full scan). HOW TO USE A SPOILER BOX? Just simply type the following:
Text you want to write
981 spoiler pics: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4884486812?pn=1 (Black Demon did this for the last case thread, so I'm following suit—please let me know if it's only alright when a mod like Black Demon does it so I can remove this link) Summary by Spimer from DCTP:
14. http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Postcards#2016 RUMは1人だよん(笑) Rum is one person (laugh) Please note—Gosho ended 33 of the 46 postcards from 2016 with (笑)/(laugh). So it's not a sign he's "just messing around" (just a point of notice for those unfamiliar with the postcards or the AC hints). We're currently (as of File 980), 82 Files into the Rum arc (I consider File 899, not File 898, as the beginning of the Rum arc, by the way). At this point in the Bourbon arc (82 Files in), the Red Shirts case (File 79–File 83 of the Bourbon arc) was underway. As for the other arcs (excluding the short Sherry/Haibara and Cell Phone arcs), in terms of 80-90 files into them: Intro/Conan arc: Heiji intro case (File 92–File 96) — Heiji's next appearance (File 117–File 121) would come right after the case with Tequila (File 114–File 116) Vermouth arc: James Black intro case (File 88–File 90) – I consider this the beginning of the build-up to the Golden Apple flashback case (File 113–File 117) Kir arc: Ethan Hondo face reveal (File 83–File 85) – 5 of the 7 cases that followed this one were the ones that comprised Clash of Red and Black So, to sum up—80–120 Files into an arc, one can expect things to happen in DC. So we're definitely in that range, right now, where things happen.
15. Meaning Rum is Rumi? EDIT: 980 text spoiler translation by Spimer from DCTP: No break next week!
16. Implying they're going to play a big role in Episode One? Considering the focus on everything else, I can't see them playing a bigger role than they did in Episode 1 of the anime.
17. This screams trolling by Gosho. Seriously, "the second-in-command of the boss appears?" That's a sledgehammer to the face of even those who are unversed in DC mysteries. Between Kanenori and Hyoue, the red herring levels are off the charts. Your first impression is more likely to be correct—Gosho typically finds a purpose for his red herring characters, so it's doubtful that Kanenori's just a wandering chef, and nothing else. He's, in all probability, not Rum, either (if he is, then we're retreading the Bourbon arc... people definitely won't be happy 'bout that). Thus, he's probably a BO member who has a relationship with Rum similar to Chianti's relationship with Vermouth.
18. Probably a similar extent to Shiho/Ai, but the reason these decisions become prominent are due to his obvious motive—otherwise, he'd just be slightly more aggressive/cold-hearted than than your average NOC.
19. Even so, the BO probably wanted him to infiltrate the police. As for a possible British connection or not—I'm fine, either way. You mean his vendetta against Shuichi over Scotch's death? Practically everything he did during his arc was related to Shuichi, and his grudge against him. That grudge is literally the only reason he walked in a crowd of civilians while being targeted by a sniper and (possibly/potentially) planned to run a civilian down. Without that grudge, there'd be no Bank Heist Case (File 677–File 679/Episode 563–Episode 564), no Silent Clash (File 700–File 704/Episode 578–Episode 581), no Scarlet Prologue (File 891–File 893/Episode 779–Episode 780), and no Scarlet Showdown (File 894–File 898/Episode 781–Episode 783). The Bourbon arc would pretty much become about Mystery Train and the Akai Family—even to the point that Rei/Toru/Bourbon wouldn't really be the focus and driver of the arc.
