It was always in her nature, and where Ran got her incredible temper and resilience. I don't think she would of left Shinichi home alone to his own devices, and might not of been too keen on his wish to be a detective. She might of felt his potential could of been used instead as a lawyer. She might, if still having married Kogoro at one point, resent detectives and refuse Shinichi the chance to be one. Shinichi might of grown up leading a very strict, reigned in life. As for Ran, with Yukiko as a mother, I can easily see her having grown up a more softer, even tempered lady. Most likely taking karate only as an outlet to help tone her body in preparation for the theatre. I think she might have a much better understanding of her feelings and how to express them. @OTTD Player: How exciting! I certainly look forward to reading it once you put it up! Now combining DC with GTA IV...Lol, my first thought was Shinichi kicking a guy out of a porsche, and jumping in with Ran in a glittering black dress, cut up to the thigh. I think it'd be about the Black Organization taking over, and Shinichi is that one man that can stop them, with his woman clasped to his arm of course. There would certainly be a lot of guns, and Shinichi sadly would be treated as a traitor by the cops, because the B.O. has heavy influence over the police.

I'll begin by saying that this is a Mitsuhiko/Ai story. Just to let you all know. How deep it gets depends on what inspiration has to say. Other pairings may come about in later chapters, especially Shinichi-Conan/Ran. The first chapter here is the setup to the rest of the story. I apologize if it's a tad small. @TML: That is a very good thought, and something I wondered as well. There was so much dangerous potential, so many what ifs that could of happened then. I mean what if he did know Conan was Shinichi? What if he hadn't been killed? Gosh, everything could of changed right then and there if he had lived for but a few more minutes... @OTTD Player: *Chuckles* Like the mafia even. An all out gang/turf war perhaps? I honestly have no idea what would happen, but I am certain it would contain a lot of action and be very exciting.

I thought, as I hadn't seen a thread depicting this yet, ((Though I have found some depicting certain concepts, just not a general discussion thread about them all)), that there should be an interesting place to discuss various alternative concepts or ideas that could of possibly happened in Detective Conan...To put it simply, a place to discuss all WHAT IF'S. Feel free to think about anything that has always tugged at the back of your mind, made you wonder what could of happened or speak about some alternative plot that you might of thought of. For instance, some thoughts that I've always wondered were... What if Ran had been given the APTX 4869 instead? What if a permanent antidote is never found for Conan/Shinichi? What if Shinichi and Ran were opposite genders? Thoughts like that. I look forward to seeing what people have to say^^

I find I agree with that, considering when one is truly a fan of pairings, especially canon pairings and OTP and whatnot, it leaves you feeling so wonderful inside that all there is, is peace. *Steps in with a broom and begins to sweep* This thread needs to be cleaned up... It's so heart breaking to go through all the pages of this thread and find so much arguing over what was titled as an Ai x Mitsuhiko thread. I can completely understand someone's distaste for this pairing, in fact it's all about everyone's individual tastes in liking and disliking characters, as well as pairings, that make fanbases all the more unique and interesting. But what might have appeared to have begun as a thread meant for talking about the potential and encouragement of this pairing was left to gather the dirt of seriously uneeded arguing. I mean no ill towards each person, but perhaps a thread meant for supporting this pairing should be created and maintained, instead of the back and forth defense of what each person likes as a pairing for Haibara. If a new thread is in need of creation, I'd be very delighted to see or make one. As for now, I'm not for arguing anything with anyone about potential other pairings for Haibara in this Mitsuhiko/Ai thread, and I will go on to speak about the support of this pairing, as is needed here. *Takes a breath* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For starters, I find that the innocent nature in which Mitsuhiko develops his crush on Ai is very sweet, in a soft and young manner. It plays along with the young relationship behavior Gosho enjoys establishing for many of his characters, and pairings. In each pairing, someone falls for the other before it becomes mutual. In Shinichi's case, he was first to develop feelings for Ran. It does appear to be the boy most often. That's how it generally begins, with the spark of a crush, and then the time that comes along to kindle it. Mitsuhiko is in no hurry to move forward, and Haibara is in no hurry to be moved. Whether she develops anything for him in return is up to Gosho, and the series itself, but I find it has great potential, and there is more than enough already to support these two. I will continue on my personal feelings for this pairing at another time, considering I'm already writing a wall of text... On a slightly diverted note regarding this pairing...I'm currently working on a fanfic surrounding Mitsuhiko and Haibara, and I am looking forward to sharing it everyone. Please look out for the first chapter soon^^ Forget that previous information, chapter one is completed! You can read it either on Fanfiction.Net, or on this forum. Please let me know how you feel about it, if you would like to^^ I would like to say that I found it particularly amusing that in OVA 9, Shinichi would dream of Mitsuhiko's ((as it would appear)) ongoing crush on Haibara. I must also admit, Mitsuhiko is absolutely HANDSOME when he's older...

Pardon, but what color are Mitsuhiko's eyes? I feel like they're black, or brown, or...Well most of the time they're so small on his face I can't tell... Silly boy. If anyone could find me a decent image, or can confirm what color his eyes are, I'd greatly appreciate it^^ Also, where might I find a gif/animation/etc of Conan changing into Shinichi, or vice versa? Honestly sometimes dong research for this series is a bit difficult, just to make sure you get all your facts right...

Lol, every time I think of Fairy Tail, I'm reminded of ~Sigh...It's rather hard to get back into fanfiction after being away from it. I really have this urge to write a Mitsuhiko/Ai fic, I even have an idea, but I just can't get the words out. *Flails arms* Why is writing so difficult and yet so addicting at the same time!? The last song I listened to is in fact the one I'm obsessed with hearing over and over again. "No Light, No Light" by Florence & The Machine To me, this is such a beautiful, haunting song. I also personally find it to be perfect for Shinichi/Conan x Ran.

I apologize before hand if I'm speaking out of turn, but I would like to point out that the Mitsuhiko/Ai section has many fragmented and difficult to decipher sentences in its descriptions. I'm not even sure how to edit them myself, and I don't want to muck up someone else's writing impolitely. I will give some examples if it's preferable, of sentences that appear to be difficult to understand the meaning of. From Case of the Missing Policeman's Notebook (Episode 276) "If Genta or Ayumi want to clear up a case, and, besides, give partly big nonsense of himself, is substantially less friendly Ai." From Mitsuhiko's Mystifying Forest (Episode 289-290) "During the search for Mitsuhiko Ayumi supposes that he meets another girl on the beach. Ai this doubts; at that time knows or she presumably already anticipates that Mitsuhiko is in love in them. Nevertheless, it is easily put out of tune to Ayumis supposition. It could be maybe jealous Ai?" From Meiji Restoration Mystery Tour (Episode 518-519) "A young woman should be kidnapped together with Mitsuhiko. Ai jumps in the car and tries to pull the ignition key to prevent Mitsuhikos kidnapping. Besides, it itself is also kidnapped." These are just some examples. Again, I hope I'm not being abrasive in pointing this out.

Hi there other Detective Conan fanatics! I'm Yoyo, sailing on the canon ship! *Chuckles* Well, I'm just putting in my introduction now, seeing as I recently just joined and felt I needed to eventually establish some sort of intro at one point. Good thing there is a place to at least say hello. I've been a fan of Detective Conan for well over ten years now, and I'm quite glad to have come across such a wonderful place as this site~ Not being very good at introductions, or anything really when it comes to talking about myself, I'll leave off pretty early. I suppose I should say that my three favorite characters are Shinichi, Ran, and Mitsuhiko. Though there isn't a single character I particularly hate. My favorite pairing is ((Of course)) Shinichi/Conan x Ran. I also like pretty much all the canon ships that are so wonderfully in the series. being an OTP shipper, having a series where there are just so many beautiful pairings is such a pleasure. Some of my favorites are Heiji/Kazuha, Kaito/Aoko, Takagi/Sato, Mitsuhiko/Ai, Sonoko/Makoto...Etc. I think you get the idea. Well, I look forward to chatting with everyone, so, greetings all!
