  1. Tamsin was shaking her head, not having felt a tug from the memory crystals so far, as the Jaeger made himself known. The suited, eyepatch-wearing humanoid seemed less monstrous than Aero, but he still looked sinister enough. She couldn't hear well through the ringing in her ears after she'd been bowled over by a pair of Shadows, but she caught mention of Aero and the cafe as she cut down a Shadow. Her teammates were listening as well, and the blue-haired woman raised her bat as Joshua appeared. Golden light rained down, scattering and demolishing Shadows left and right, and with a pop Tamsin's hearing returned to normal. Joshua was speaking... "Alita probably told you all not to engage a Jaeger, right? And yeah, if you did back then, you'd probably die. I get this feeling, though, that you're worth more than you look. Why don't you take that Jaeger down? I'll keep this army busy." With a hint of a smirk, Tam nodded. Finally, someone was choosing to believe in the group. They weren't being saved, protected, or shielded yet again. And Moto was just unlucky enough to be the first enemy they faced while emboldened with such belief. "Nice to meet you, Moto. It's too bad you're not on our side." She let out her breath and raised the hand her bat was in, making eye contact with the Jaeger only for a moment before looking to the group. "Shall we?"
  2. Tamsin wiped her brow with the back of her sleeve. Hesh and Alice had done well, and with the three of them, that Reaper was down. Shattered into nothingness, it was no more a bother than the Shadows that raged all around. She looked up from her companions to see Shadows closing in and Iyana and Aquilas fighting the second Reaper on their own. Cracking her neck as Alice praised their work, Tamsin pocketed her knife and headed back to Iyana. She noticed the tear in the girl's bag and gave the skeletal commander an impatient look. "You did that, huh?" Shaking her head, Tamsin smacked the Reaper on the side of the head with her bat, enjoying the dry crunch of metal against bone. She then started taking down the Shadows that attempted to protect it, dropping them one by one. "Take him down, you two! I've got ya covered."
  3. (Not that easy to kill a Reaper, Ari. They're way stronger than the Shadows. Your bullet'll hit, but we need more of a fight with only two of these guys and at least a thousand Shadows. I assume the reapers, as commanders, have horses of some kind. Correct me if they don't, though. xP) Tamsin hadn't been counting the number of fallen Shadows, but as they disappeared she was glad to see the wave thinning. Everyone was making quick work of the Shadows so far, and it looked like the group was turning the tide with its effort. With another pair of Shadows down, she reached over and messed up Iyana's hair with her free hand. The girl moved, looking away from the enemies in front of them, and Tamsin followed her gaze as she twirled her bat in her gloved hand. There was a Reaper among the enemies, and it was finally drawing its bow. Aquilas was in its path... There was another gunshot, and the skull-like head was grazed. "Not enough," the woman muttered. She struck a nearing Shadow, then told Iyana, "I'll be back in a minute... "Aquilas!" The red and blue-clad fighter fought her way along the front line, each movement a kill and another step toward the Reaper. As the skeleton-figure knocked an arrow, Tamsin remembered something she'd been told at the cafe. 'It's best to take out the Reapers to make the Shadows panic.' Alright then... Taking up her folding knife in her left hand, she studied her opponent, making note of the shield strapped to its left... well, it wasn't exactly and arm... Its radius and ulna? Either way, Tam wasn't going to let it fire off a single projectile. Quite literally coming up swinging, the blue-haired woman wrapped her hands around the base of her bat and took a running leap, forcing the Reaper over the side of his mount with a two-handed blow. As it fell, she crushed two Shadows that started to interfere. As the Reaper rose, she noticed a nick in his skull from hesh's bullet and a piece of a rib swinging halfway down its chest. Skeletal structure looked male, and Tamsin grinned, jesting, "Good, I don't have to hit a girl." The Reaper raised his weapon and took a stance that kept his chest protected by the shield, and the girl nodded. "Fair fight, then..." Tam let out a breath and readied herself, a weapon in each hand. As the Reaper gave a twitch of motion, she charged. She'd try to hold his sword and shield with her bat and strike with the knife until she could disarm him or break the shield that was protecting his torso. With a yell, Tam made the first strike, leading to a deadlock between the enemies as she pushed forward with the length of her bat and he held his ground, eventually forcing her back with a parry. The two collided like this three more times, and on the third occurrence, Tamsin was able to make a hit; when the Reaper parried, she faked a swing to the right and twirled her bat, forcing his sword to his left with the weapon and nicking his arm with her blade. Three Shadows came to the Reaper's defense, and she let out a sigh. "Fine, you can all die..." (They'll continue to fight in the next bit. Don't want to put too much or finish a Reaper off quickly EDIT: Uwahh, I started using real names. =_= Fixed. Gomen.))
  4. I haven't the faintest idea what my patronus or memory would be.
  5. (Bring it on ** I call dibs on one of the reapers, I'll take it out at the end/climax of the fight. Fight scenes~ =w=) Tamsin cursed under her breath at Hesh's harsh shouting. "I'm encouraging the team without being emotional, you ass," she snapped, clocking a shadow in the head as she turned to glare at the foulmouthed companion who was quickly getting on her nerves. "I'd say I want to see you try to blast that Jaeger, but I'm not anxious to have even you killed!" She noticed Prem's posture as he fired off a slew of arrows, and smirked. He's good. Letting out a breath as she finished two more shadows with her bat and knifed a third in the throat, the blue-haired melee-fighter began tearing arrows from the fallen shadows. Ducking under a broad swing, she slid across the ground on her knees and dropped the pile of projectiles beside Prem. "Luckily spent ones can be reused, unlike bullets" she muttered quickly, giving an informal half-salute before returning to the fray. The pure adrenaline as Tam bashed her weapon into the enemies was familiar and energizing, and knowing what she'd been told about the shadows, there had to be crystalline memories nearby that would tell her why. She took a quick look around to ensure that her companions weren't having trouble. No one appeared to be wounded so far, and every fighter was holding his own. Tamsin made her way to Iyana, fighting through the mass of Shadows silently. When she made it to the girl's side, the woman smiled. "Doing alright?" she asked, raising her bat at the nearby Shadows. "How about you and me slice and smash our way to getting back our memories?" She felt a kinmanship with the younger girl despite being sure she was an only child, and was sure to keep her covered when it came to the fight.
  6. "No problem. Nice to meet ya, Aquilas." Tamsin pulled away from the conversation as Prem introduced himself and studied the group. Everyone seemed to be doing okay, for a ragtag group of amnesiacs at least. No one seemed truly overwhelmed, and she was glad to see that. Tightening her tuft of a ponytail again, she decided that if someone seemed to be giving up, she wouldn't let it happen. Everyone in the group was going to survive, get their memories, and leave the Rift, hopefully the same person they were before being tossed here. The blue-haired woman heard the sound of a folding knife opening, and looked up to see Iyana making eye contact with everyone and brandishing her weapon. A ways off there was a large patch of darkness. Shadows.., maybe even reapers. With a sigh, Tamsin watched as everyone prepared to fight, addressing the group to make sure no one made an error in confusion. "Be careful. Only fight with the weapons given or prepared by Joshua and Alita. Shoot or strike to kill. And as we're always told, don't die." Moving away from the edge of the group, Tamsin swung her bat in an arc, listening to the satisfying whoosh it made breaking through the air. It was a comfortable, nostalgic feeling, and she wondered whether she'd played baseball or used a bat-like weapon. The girl patted her pocket, checking for the extra pocket-knife she'd stowed there in case, and let out a breath, charging at the creatures that seemed to have just noticed the humans. She didn't know if she was the first to make contact, but her first strikes were efficient; The surprisingly tough weapon she'd pummeled the nearest Shadow with left it doubled over for a moment, and she took the opportunity to send what she figured was a finishing blow to its head. There was a little chaos as the groups collided, and Tamsin made a mental note to keep an eye on the others. If someone was hit, she'd move to protect them. After all, she could keep fighting while protecting someone, and it felt natural to want to... Which was odd considering her memories thus far. Breaking from her thoughts, she blocked an attempted hit with her blunt weapon. Tamsin took in a breath and held her ground, taking up the folding knife in her left hand and lunging at the unprotected side of the Shadow she was tussling with. As it cringed away, she was able to swing her right arm again and do a double-strike at the creature's neck. She heard the sound of arrows flying as the fallen enemy toppled, and Tamsin glanced in the direction of the sound quickly, hoping it was Prem's shooting and not a long-range opponent. ((Fightin' time. xP I'll leave it here for interaction's sake.))
  7. Tamsin stayed silent as Joshua berated them. She hadn't really intended to take Hesh outside for his bag. It was useless to him most likely. She was hoping that when he woke up a bit he would come to his senses about going back out. They were being sent out again now that the other girl had woken and the two newbies had drank the rift antivenin. She hung back as they began moving out, letting the others move at their own pace. Tamsin felt a tug on her sleeve and turned to see the girl, who had dark hair and wore a hoodie, standing behind her. "Where am I?" she asked. Tamsin smiled and gestured for the girl to follow, lingering behind the rest of the group so that she could explain the RIft. "We're in a place without time. From what I've seen, I believe most of us are from different worlds and times, and we were drawn here by a Jaeger called Aero. Jaegers are humanoid creatures with color-changing eyes. They're very dangerous, and you are not to engage them. There are two other types of monster called I think, Reapers and Shadows. We can fight them with our enhanced weapons. Our memories have been scattered on entry to the rift, which is itself an insidious place. What you drank will protect you from its poisons. "Your memories will be contained in yellow crystals throughout the rift, and they'll react when you're near. Shadows and the rest feed on the crystals, so we have to gather them before they're consumed. Otherwise the memories inside them will be lost forever. We need to find all our memories to get out of here. Sorry to drop so much on you, but you two got bitch slapped into the middle of all this after we got our explanations." She offered a hand with another smile, then added, "Bag boy is Hesh, Skull-cap's name is Prem. The younger girl is Iyana, Misaki is the woman in armor, and Alice is the one over there. I'm Tamsin, by the way. Do you recall your name?"
  8. Tamsin nodded at Prem, but even though Hesh had been pretty harsh, she didn't want to send the newbie out where creatures could find him. "Look, we can't go back to the area where we found you. If you dropped the bag on the way, you can go pick it back up, but I'm not going to send anyone back. If you're too 'fraidy cat to go by yourself, I'll come with you, since I know Misaki can handle things here, but my help's all you're gonna get if you don't feel like goin' alone." After her long winded response, the girl put her feet up on the table and waited for an answer. She felt like she should stay with the group and try to keep everyone together, but despite her temper, didn't feel like making an enemy of Hesh right off the bat.
  9. Tamsin raised an eyebrow at Hesh before hefting up her baseball bat. "For your information, Hesh, if I smack you, it will be with this bat, and you'll be dead, let alone unable to snap any necks. I'm watching you now, bitch." She flicked off the newcomer and took a seat at the table, her bat on her shoulder. (Sorry Ari, but Tamsin has a potty mouth and doesn't like threats xP)
  10. After addressing Iyana, Tamsin turned to look at Hesh, who'd been spouting nonsense before Alice gave a short explanation. "We hauled your ass from the crash site, kid," she added, "This is Alice, the girl is Iyana, the woman in armor is Misaki, and Prem's the dude over there." She pointed at everyone as she listed names. "The woman out there who fought the Jaeger for your life and ours is called Alita, and don't forget that. You're not gonna have any memories right off the bat, but you can gather 'em through yellow crystals. And just to clarify, you stay with the group. A Jaeger could ice your ass in two seconds. I'll let ya wake up. Alice, if he says somethin' stupid, just smack him..."
  11. A Jaeger, THE Jaeger, was changing the game. She wanted to shout, to turn and yell at Aero that no, the humans were not swine, and they'd end her pitiful existence... But she held back, doing as she was told and trying not to endanger the others. They were no longer to follow Alita. Tamsin gave a heavy sigh at the thought of leaving the girl behind, but she knew there was no reason to argue. Alita had chosen to take on Aero and get the humans to safety. "Thank you," Tamsin mumbled, taking one of the unconscious girl's arms as Misaki took the other. The group ran straight back to the cafe; a few turned to look back, and the blue-haired woman knew she heard crying from at least one member of the group. I'm sorry, she thought. Her grip on the survivor's shoulder tightened, and Tamsin steeled herself as she faintly remembered having done in the past. There's some kind of war the Jaeger's are involved in. This one has it out for human and 'angel' alike, so I assume the fighting's between those factions... And then we got tossed in here. Damn, if I remembered who I was, I onder if I'd still be pissed about being taken from that life. "Alice, Prem, watch your step." When they'd trundled the two survivors into the cafe and closed it up, Tamsin set the girl she and Misaki had carried in a chair and walked to Iyana, who wasn't standing huddled with the group or close to another person. "Hey," she mumbled offering a smile, "You doin' alright, Iyana? I'm not gonna fuss over you 'cause you're young, but if you ever feel like no one's listening, or you need somebody to talk to, I'm 'ere, 'kay?"
  12. Is it weird that Clarice Starling and Hannibal Lecter are my favorite book/movie couple right now? xD

  13. Hannibal. Not a particularly romantic movie, but still xP The book confirms the romance, but even in the movie it's intriguing and though twisted, I support it xD
  14. Way too many new drawings, but oh well. xP A dump of my new art~
  15. The new information was both confusing and expected; Of course, in a place like the rift, where poison is in the air and memories are shattered, there would be such creatures. Tamsin wondered what gave the Jaegers their power, and if there was a way to overwhelm them, but knew she wouldn't be allowed near enough one to find out. Tightening her ponytail as everyone began to move, she stretched and took a look at the table; there were a few standard firearms and old-fashioned weapons, each tinged with the yellow of the memory crystals. As Alita headed out, the others following with their weapons of choice, Tamsin reached over the guns and wrapped her fingers around the grip of a metallic baseball bat. It was sleek but nostalgic, and Tamsin smiled a little as she hefted the surprisingly heavy bat over her shoulder. Damn, I like this weap already. Taking one last look at the almost empty table, she plucked a folding knife from its surface and slipped it into her pocket before walking outside. Aero, huh? She patted a smirking Prem on the shoulder as the group ran toward the site of the crash, sighing, "You're probably the most worrisome bastard of the group, kid."
  16. Tamsin listened to Alice's explanation, thinking that perhaps this rift wasn't composed of one same world. If those who had woken in the white poison of the rift were scattered from different threads, maybe it was intentional that these particular people were here... She heard the question Iyana asked, and wondered if those two were adapted to the rift, or immune to its environment. She put a hand on Iyana's shoulder, thinking the girl might be having a hard time with the situation, and added her own question aimed toward Alita and Joshua. "I'm not sure what my memories mean, or what kind of person I was, but if we have a common enemy in the one who brought us here, I'll help... How do we gather our memories and find this person?"
  17. Tamsin had remained quiet until they were sat down and offered what looked like black coffee. She didn't recall liking coffee, but neither could she remember hating it, so she picked up the cup and gulped some down, grimacing at the overwhelmingly bitter flavor that gripped her senses. "That's some crappy coffee," she grumbled, putting a hand to her throbbing head as the silver-haired boy started talking about poison and the rift. 'Rift, huh? Never heard of it... But if that was poison, why should we trust these people to help us?' She didn't speak, instead hoping to let the others decide for themselves whether to put faith in the two who ran a cafe in the middle of nowhere. Just as the disgusting bitterness was fading, a sentence echoed in her mind. 'You got the product, Tammer?' She closed her eyes and concentrated on the distinct male voice, but found flashes of memory invading her thoughts. There was a group of teens and young adults, mostly boys, loitering outside a government transport station... Several exchanges of money. The flash of a firearm, a laser-burst relic, and the sight of crimson falling from the blade of the swiss army knife that had been in her pocket... Tamsin didn't know what they meant, but it wasn't what she'd expected. She listened as Prem had his denial-outburst and Misaki reassured him. 'Facebook?' It sounded familiar. She'd read about it. Studied it for some reason. 'Wait... That operation the central government shut down for invasion of privacy back in the electronics boom? Can people pirate it still?' Tamsin wondered if any of those stuck in the 'rift' would be able to understand what was familiar to the other when memories started to return. "I don't remember anything important," she mumbled, not wanting to explain the unclear flashes of memory that seemed to point at criminal activity.
  18. Misaki had a familiar air about her. It wasn't just the armor that spoke of one trained to protect. Even if she didn't remember it, the woman had an aura to match, one that Tamsin found eerily familiar. 'But I don't look anything like her. If anything, I appear the type of pseudo-rebellious teen that's the problem for people like her...' She tugged at her bangs and sighed, hoping they'd get some clues to work on about their identities. At the offer of jerky, the blue-haired woman nearly turned it down, but she noticed that although the others looked hungry, only Alice had taken a piece. Tamsin grabbed a proffered strip of meat and passed it to Iyana. "Hey, you should eat," she mumbled, thinking about the weird-looking cell phone the girl had taken from her pocket. "I also think sticking together is the best idea... There could be dangers around, and if someone gets lost, we'll have a problem pulling together..." Turning away from the group and digging through the pockets of her blue jeans, Tamsin found half of a metal stylus, an antique swiss army knife, a plastic baggie of something she'd identify later, and a palm-sized piece of silver metal with a screen and two panels. Fiddling with it, she discovered that one of the panels was in fact a small screen. There was a green light on the screen, and as it flashed, Tamsin had an idea. She pressed her thumb to it and put her ear close, wondering what the power source was for the object. After three seconds, the piece let out a soft buzz and a blank, robotic voice said, "Off- deactiv-. Data ba- erased..." With an annoyed sigh she stuffed the aggravatingly useless piece of technology back in her pocket. 'Dammit, coulda had something there...'
  19. I said I'd change it back xP But you didn't have to be accurate, so it's fine.
  20. It's nice. The hair's a bit smudgy and lightly drawn for the rest of it, but nice xP
  21. There was a moment of silence following Prem's words. Tamsin decided to break it with a serious, "You better not actually piss your pants..." With a grimace, the blue-haired girl turned back to the only person who hadn't been introduced yet, the younger girl. "Hey... You know your name too, right?" she asked, a friendly smile appearing on her formerly dark face.
  22. Tamsin looked away from the small girl at the others' words. 'Prem and Alice, huh?' The guy looked oddly happy considering they were all in an unknown location with no apparent knowledge of how they'd arrived, and she assumed he was either high or had a concussion. She flinched at Alice's 'harem' remark, glancing at the younger Iyana before giving Alice a red-faced stare. That wasn't exactly an appropriate joke in their situation. "That's-" "Nice hair," the other girl whistled. Tamsin shrugged and glanced at the navy bangs hanging over her eye. "I guess it's something I like... It's kinda weird not knowing what I look like though." With a frown, the grey eyed girl added, "My name's Tamsin... but uh, that's kinda it as far as knowing things goes."
  23. Looks like you're heavily outnumbered by women in the IRL Round.

  25. Cold... This was the first thought that came to Tamsin's mind when her consciousness roused her. Blinking away the sleepiness that always lingered after rest, she found herself facedown on a rather chilly, luminescent white floor. Stretching, the girl propped herself up on her hands and looked around. There was nothing but cold white all around, with a few broken patches of darkness. Tamsin hopped up, regretting her lack of footwear for a moment as cold seeped into the balls of her feet. Dark blue flopped over her left eye, and she grabbed at the hair, wondering why she'd styled it that way. It was a bit annoying, hanging over her eye. And blue? Reaching to the back of her head with a half-gloved hand, she felt a tuft that she assumed was supposed to be a ponytail. "So I'm a f***ing punk." With a frown, she cracked her neck and sighed, grumbling, "What's all this?" She didn't remember coming here... In fact, there was just about nothing in her memory bank. "Name... Tamsin... Reicher. Age?" She couldn't recall that bit, but looking down at herself, she decided she was probably a teenager, maybe an adult. "Damn, I'm short," she muttered, trying to gauge the distance to the floor. Grey tanktop, blue jeans, red flannel... Colors were good. They distracted from the glowing white that was starting to irk her. Frowning as she wondered what she looked and acted like normally, Tamsin felt almost naturally inclined to shrug it off and do something useful. "I'm probably weird," she sighed, now wondering how she knew speech and terminology but had forgotten her life. Cracking her knuckles, the girl again took a look at the surroundings; a couple of the dark areas were shifting, and Tamsin decided they were living things. "With any luck, human." The glow of what she assumed was the floor of some room kept the way light, not that the surrounding nothingness didn't. There were a few people lying on the floor, and just in the distance two others, standing possibly. She mumbled, "Better see what the hell's up," and made her way to the awakened cohabitants of what Tamsin decided was the weirdest room she'd been in. It was a shoo-in, considering it was the only one she could recall having been in. The two she could see were unaware of her presence, and the closer of the two didn't appear to be walking anywhere. She didn't think either of them knew her, but that guess was based on appearance alone. After a moment, she could make out that they were a curly-headed boy and a girl with black clothes and hair. The boy lingered on his own, not asking anything but looking a bit anxious as he mumbled to himself. The girl approached and said something, but Tamsin had to read her lips to get it from even that short distance. 'Maybe this is hell' she'd said... Talking to the boy with the cap, she supposed. Looking at the two, then back at a third awakened person, she frowned. "Um, hi?" the bespectacled younger girl tried. With another sigh, Tamsin dropped her questions, knowing by their expressions that no one else had a clue what was going on either. Instead she answered the small girl. "Hey..." (It's difficult to write an opening when everyone before you says there's a group, and no one's in it... So I eliminated the standing group of three from the first posts that for now is impossible with the amount of people who've just walked over there in confusion. I won't say anything about Tamsin's personality yet, but I've decided she curses a lot. xP))
