Did you mean that the culprit might be Bourbon, and he was trying to blow that woman up just to test if Akai could really have survived or not ? That is a scary idea in my opinion, even for a BO member.

LOL at the last option But seriously, I have absolutely no idea who to suspect right now. I doubt that it will be Toru. The sun-glassed guy is the most suspicious, but I also doubt it. If I just go by my personal feeling and no logical deduction, I think that it was the good-for-nothing husband. What trick did the culprit use is still unclear at the moment though...

I used to be addicted to DC but not anymore. I also used to like all of the manga cases (whether they're plot related or not), but right now I only follow the series just because I want to know the truth behind all of the unsolved mysteries.

I'm pretty iffy about the love-triangle stuff, but so far I cannot think of any more suitable motive for Bourbon's hatred towards Akai. However, the different part is that if some kind of showdown actually breaks out between those two in the near future, this time, there will be no Akemi saving Akai, since she's already dead. And that battle is gonna be epic. Also, the bolded part seems to be in use, if you know what I mean. This couple really should have gotten themselves a life...

I personally think that Gosho purposely avoids adding another character who has the same personality as Gin (assume that Toru is really Bourbon). After all, what makes Gin so unique and special among the rest of the BO is his cold blood. If there exists another guy who acts the same, Gin will be likely to lose his "spotlight". And I really like it when there actually is a variety of personalities within the Orgs., which makes things somewhat more interesting: Gin: Cold-blooded, distrustful. Vermouth: Mysterious, manipulative, while a little bit sympathetic. Vodka: Inexperienced, but loyal, and somewhat helpful (at least to Gin). Chianti: Enjoys killing. Korn: Emotionless, anti-social. Sherry (if counts): Sarcastic, also secretive. Rye (if counts): Lone wolf. Bourbon (if he's Toru): From what I've seen so far, he has a unique personality. I don't really know what is the right word to describe it. Playful ??? However, his hatred/rivalry towards Akai is indeed a serious thing, especially if it does involve Akemi after all. Anyway, this is off-topic, but speaking of Akemi, does anyone know exactly what happened to the Char x Lalah x Amuro love-triangle in the end ? Back to topic:

Exactly. It is not a very nice thing to put examples here, so I didn't. But if you want, I can PM you some of the most ridiculous things that were "translated" back then...

The version that was published in my country at that time was very poorly translated. They changed the whole dialogues and replaced them with some crappy sentences from nowhere. Every important clues was damaged. They made Jodie talks things that only Vermouth knows, and also the other way around (because they thought that those two were the same person so it "didn't really matter"). They made Haibara concluding that Jodie was Vermouth from the beginning, while the original dialogue was something else. They even changed Vermouth's inner thought so it matched the fact that she's Jodie. Therefore every single person in my country was seriously mislead. When Vol. 42 was published, everyone (including me) was really shocked and thought that Gosho Aoyama had made the serious plot-hole ever, and most people started to hate Gosho and decided not to read Conan afterwards; thus created a bad effect on the series. They'd had no idea that it was the translators' fault, until the Conan manga & anime were uploaded online. Yet nowadays there're still a few people who have no idea and still blame Gosho. Even after countless times re-published, the press still made the same mistakes. Thankfully that the newest Conan manga series today is much more well translated.

This is indeed a normal case because we still haven't reached the big "800" yet. However, judging from the situation, it seems that Gosho is making some kind of "preparation" before the showdown comes. But I'm still iffy about this, since everything could just have been red herrings.
