Masumi Sera's connection to Shuichi Akai speculation

Out of curiosity, now that the connection is confirmed, what would you like to do with that section of the speculation on Masumi Sera and Shuichi Akai's pages? You wrote the speculation, if I'm not mistaken, and I didn't want to remove your research without bringing the matter to you first. :) --Skyechan 23:59, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

Sherry's soliloquy

Hello,

I don't really know if I understood this thing's concept, but if you need to see old (and now unavailable) parts of a website, perhaps the Internet Archive Wayback Machine can help you ? (Sorry for my very bad English, and sorry if it wasn't what you needed) --Maxdefolsch 16:17, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

I feel sort of stupid for not thinking of that... :( Well, I got all the pictures, but I will certainly try an archive in the future. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 18:03, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

FYI

I love what I'm seeing on the handedness complaint. I told you before, I was an IP that previously clashed with you. I don't have that proxy any longer, but you can look me up: 113.192.1.99. I also love how you ran away from a challenge. But without a doubt, my favorite is the fact that you're randomly accusing people of being me sock puppetting and being guilty of a serious offense that makes them not worth your time any further, when you yourself were sock puppeting on Mangafox. By the way, if you still can't decipher my code: start with a Caesar Square. I'm reverting the edit since it's wrong, neither my various proxies nor my natural IP match out to 71.126.239.180 (and just to help you out, my natural IP is 66.87.125.212). If you want to track me down, try actually working at it instead of assuming anyone who questions you must be me.94.229.86.105 22:05, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Heist pictures

You agreed right?! Yes I don't want the pictures to be stretched out funny.
I don't understand though; the screencaps are taken from my DVDs. They're not stretched. This is what the image looks like before I shrunk the width to 640px. http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/gg555/skyedream75/vlcsnap-2012-07-14-16h25m46s9.png 720x480. And as I said, this is from the actual DVD footage. I don't see how shrinking the image to 640x427 (using the constrain proportions setting on Photoshop) destroys the ratio. It keeps it and then maintains the width set by other images. --Skyechan 20:29, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

Re: Ran saves Ai image

Hm... Actually I think that one has accurate scale, since it is a full screenshot of the scene. And full screenshots tend to have that kind of scale (even though it doesn't look very nice to the eyes). For example, if you compare it to the images with Shinichi and Ran on the same page and some other full screenshots, you'll see that the scales are approximately the same after re-sizing to the same pixel but still keep the ratio (even when the original sizes are different):

Shinichi and Ran.jpg
Shinichi Confesses.jpg
EP622-623 Gallery 2.jpg
MK8 building check.PNG
Hakuba as Sherlock Holmes.jpg
MK8 Paul's performance.PNG
MK8 Jody used Flamethrower! It's Super Effective!.PNG

I think the reason why other images look more "balanced" is either because they're not a full screenshot (e.g. cropped) or because they were sketched in size without maintaining the original ratio. - Black Demon

Speaking of the Anokata article...

Some months ago there was an interview of Gosho that mentioned some facts about the Boss' identity, not sure if you have read it yet (I posted that somewhere in the forum).

Gosho said that The Boss is "a person who has appeared with his/her full name" (translated by Mina from DCTP if I'm not mistaken, it was posted at the DCTP Spoiler Cbox (the one used for translations) during the Mystery Train Case, you can read it there in an archive). However, I can't read much of Japanese so I'm not sure how to understand the phrase "has appeared" here. Is it safe to say that The Boss has been featured in person ?

This is the orginal Japanese Q&A:

--コナンに登場する犯罪組織の黒幕は、男ですか、女ですか

 「それは言えない。でも、今までにフルネームで登場している人です」

The page itself: http://sankei.jp.msn.com/life/news/120630/bdy12063007000000-n1.htm (That part's in page 4)

But the only problem here is that no one is sure whether this interview is real or not, which is the reason why I never included it here. So what do you think, should we add it or not ?

Re: Stolen information

I know where you come from and I know how the licensings working, but, don't it frustrates you that the source that you've founded and added it by writing the text at your own and then some other website related to the mediawiki style then steels all of your hard work, that is not as simple as it seems by taking away content from another website. Each website should be original and by copying the source from another wiki is extremely unoriginal. Thanks for understanding this painful situation though, but it frustrates me that literally the text that I've written were I had to find tons of informations from different kind of websites evenly from Japanese websites to create something special of my own. Hope you understand how I felt about it, evenly your wikia is under GNU Free Documentation License by taking free contents from different websites it is still not right by taking the content without referencing the source were you've taken. Maybe you also dislikes it when I am going to take content from this wiki and placed it to my wiki right? Hopefully we can know clear thing because I've found out that the one who took the content is the one you've banned. Hope out websites can get along with each other what do you think? I've evenly created a special rule at my wiki which contains to prevent taking content from your wiki and adding to the mine. I want to be a wiki were the source can be trustworthy and original. Anyway good luck with your wiki. Sorry for my behavior, I was just furious that exact the same content has been made here as well. KidProdigy (talk) 12:04, 17 February 2013 (PST)

I am extremely happy that you've understand the situation. Thanks. KidProdigy (talk) 13:10, 17 February 2013 (PST)

Re: appreciation

Thanks! It's mostly for my own peace of mind, but it really helps to know other people appreciate it as well. I wish I could do more, but I don't trust myself to fact-check anime-specific details right and it's hard to find what else needs it beyond what's been tagged for cleanup. Re:Speaking of guys who use their personal pages for unrelated stuff...

Bring up the matter to Maurice. I wasn't sure about that either. Technically it's just on the userpage and doesn't use up a lot of resources, but on the same token it has absolutely nothing to do with DC at all. :/ --Skyechan (talk) 20:11, 23 March 2013 (PDT)

Regarding: picture "Sonoko_is_scary"

I just wanted to ask which episode this particular scene is from. I haven't watched it yet and would like to learn what triggered this reaction. Daniel46 (talk) 05:29, 29 March 2013 (PDT)

Cleanup

Hi,

I started to do a lot of cleanup yesterday, mainly with the redirect pages, and I came across some pretty useless pages (which aren't linked from any other page), which I think should be deleted :

Pages Reason
A Mysterious Sniper Murder Case (Part 1)
A Mysterious Sniper Murder Case (Part 2)
The Traveling Drama Troupe Murder Case (Part 1)
The Traveling Drama Troupe Murder Case (Part 2)
We don't create redirections for each part of an episode
Detectiv Conan timeline
Detéctive Conan
Eiichi Yamagishi (charatcer)
Héiji
Matsomoto family
Wataru Takagi Appearance
Based on very specific typos
Unknown
Mikami Sera
When the name wasn't known, I suppose
Decisive Battle At Skyscraper! Doesn't lead anywhere, I don't know where it should (the first movie ?)
Mann (Fall 197) Leads to Scar Akai, don't know why
Other People Leads to the main page talk, don't really know why either, and as I said it's not linked from any other page
Roller Coaster Murder Case/Images Leads to the gallery, useless
Volume 61-Current
Volume 71-Current
Outdated
Xinichi I checked on the Shinichi page, it's not even a foreign dub name
Midori Kuroba Not sure about that one, she's supposed to be called Chikage but I don't know if the anime messed up or something

There's also a bunch of file redirections but I'll not touch them for the time being.

Oh, and there are three "real" pages that (in my opinion) should be deleted as well :

Apollo Glass Appearances : As far as I know, we don't do the Appearances page for one-time characters.
Diana Kingstone : The page is empty and it's a one-time character too. At best, maybe should we put her in the notable case characters list.
Family & Friends : Almost empty, useless, not linked from anywhere.

So, what do you think ? Is it possible to delete these pages ?

Thank you,

Maxdefolsch (talk) 06:13, 6 April 2013 (PDT)

Kaito's age

Not a good canon source, but his age is specified as 17 in the Clock Tower heist segment of episode 219. (Just before the flashback to the heist when Kaito is getting ready to go to the Suzuki museum to steal the Black Star.) I would have to search through Magic Kaito itself to see if his age is specified within, but I do know that the manga version of the Clock Tower heist doesn't mention it since the characters don't have the introduction boxes. --Skyechan (talk) 16:24, 7 April 2013 (PDT)

Bug with Appearances template

Hi,

I just created "The Criminal" Appearances (by the way, I hope it won't be considered useless ...) and there seems to be a problem with the Appearances template. As you can see, instead of listing all the appearances, it only outputs the number of appearances like it does in the Appearances section of "The Criminal". I suppose this is caused by the quotation marks in "The Criminal". Is there anything I can do about it ?

Thanks,

Maxdefolsch (talk) 15:45, 23 April 2013 (PDT)

Hey

I gave you a message a long time ago but you didn't respond, also I didn't evenly came with the idea to give you my thanks here. It is pretty original the Gosho Aoyama page. Most of the information that you've found seemed for me missed because I couldn't find some of those. I again thankful for taking responsibility to revamping the page. Thanks again. Can you make a Remastered version page of what is it and what episodes are Remastered please.

Question

You know the Extra information they've shown on top of the episodes, can I put them on the episodes pages here?

Tomoaki Araide

http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Vermouth#Hints_that_Vermouth_was_Dr._Araide_and_not_Jodie

<<Also, "Dr. Araide" claims to have sent his grandmother and housekeeper Hikaru ahead to Aomori, which is strange because it was established in the Araide family murder case[29] that Araide didn't trust them (especially Hikaru) to take care of themselves.[30]>>

The source is there but is not accurate. I myself am not able to find that phrase, as it is important you please put the exact source? thank you very much --User:Fra90snake 17:16, 4 June 2013 (CEST)

If you are getting a source from mangareader, you probably have a bad translation because online readers typically do not post better quality re-edits. This is the best fan translation I can find. I do not have Viz's volume, but I will inquire after the English as well. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 09:24, 6 June 2013 (PDT)

No no, I'm not talking about that phrase said by Otonashi. I'm talking about this:

http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Vermouth#Hints_that_Vermouth_was_Dr._Araide_and_not_Jodie

<<Also, "Dr. Araide" claims to have sent his grandmother and housekeeper Hikaru ahead to Aomori, which is strange because it was established in the Araide family murder case[29] that Araide didn't trust them (especially Hikaru) to take care of themselves.[30]>>

The sources must be of episodes 170-171. Araide said this thing about Hikaru and grandmother in those episodes --User:Fra90snake 19:17, 6 June 2013 (CEST)

I'm talking about this "which is strange because it was established in 235-236 that Araide didn't trust them (especially the maid) to take care of themselves." http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Vermouth_timeline#The_Haunted_House_Mystery_.28Manga:_355.2C_Anime:_274.29 for this phrase it needs the exact sorce --User:Fra90snake 14:28, 7 June 2013 (CEST)

Re: Those color pictures...

Sadly, I don't have anything color-printed. I have a folder on my hard drive with all the color pictures I could possibly find from the internet. As I collected it over several years and at least one foreign-language website, I couldn't tell you exactly where each picture came from, but I could send you what I have if you wanted. Stolen info

I have checked his edits and there's a possibility that he was only copying those info from the anime pages, since they have exactly the same contents. If the contents were stolen from tv.com, then many anime articles have violated copyrights too, so he might haven't been doing that on purpose. The main problems we're facing now are those anime pages that he likely copied these details from, but probably not every single one of them is copyvio though. --- BLACK DEMON | Reply 20:35, 7 September 2013 (PDT)

I did notice some, but not all, of the material came from the anime pages. Some came from Wikipedia as well which is safe. Well, I guess I'll start vetting, while being aware of the possibility some of the stuff might be our originals that wandered elsewhere to the web. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 21:26, 7 September 2013 (PDT)

A Duplicate File

I'm so happy that you liked Sera's image and thank you for the help. Little Help :D

Hello :)), I have two questions if you don't mind:

  • First: Can you take a look at this page [3]?. I've been waiting for an answer for 3 days, so I thought that you haven't seen it because there were lots of contributions that day :D
  • Second: I don't know if this question was previously asked, but just for precaution: Can we write more info in the people section even if it's not mentioned in the blue box when introducing a character in the anime, taking in consider that this info will not be part of a spoiler ?

Your help will be much appreciated ^_^ thanks in advance :) --Calia Archer: talk 22:42, 15 September 2013

Kaitou Kid after

I'm sorry can you help me please. I'm stuck here. I don't know what should I do. I'm sorry. Here's the full photo File:Kid_After.jpg. The text is not under the photo. Besides, the photo itself is not like the one next to it [4]. >.< --Calia Archer: talk 06:20, 18 September 2013

Really thank you for solving the problem, but is it okay to keep the photo like that without making it as the same height as the photo next to it? I mean, I read your summary of changes you made to Kaitou Kid page but I still don't understand, forgive me.

One more thing, there are duplicated files [5]. It's because I tried to crop to make them as the same height with the one "Kid Before" [6]photo. I'm sorry I caused you trouble. --Calia Archer: talk 07:17, 18 September 2013

Main Page

I just noticed maybe a typing error, I'm not sure, was just wondering if these was put correctly. http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Main_Page Under specific topics it says Ran Mouri - Shinichi's childhood and best friend Is that correct or is it suppose to be Shinichi's childhood best friend? The and part kind of threw me off, wasn't sure if that was right or not.

Mastermind

To explain my edit here: [7]

By Mastermind, I meant the one(s) ordering the theft of the money. And that by Shiho being connected, that she's part of the Organization like they are, but as I mentioned, I wanted to keep it in line with the description that Akemi had on the page by not mentioning anymore than I had to.
