Wanting to return to his playboy lifestyle, he decided to kill his fiancee and make it look like an accident by leaving her unconscious in the cave so that she would drown by the rising tide. Conan and the detective kids find her and they escape by traveling deeper into the cave where the water tides carry them out of another hole into a tide pool, where Kogoro and Kasuga are there fishing.

Kasuga immediately takes Ayumi hostage and threatens to kill everyone present, but Ran and an old guard arrive in time to save them. Kasuga is immediately subdued and arrested, while Kogoro recieves a stern lecture from the old guard for fishing in the tide pool, which is off-limits.
