Situation
At Mouri Detective Agency, Takagi is showing his gratitude to the great detective for helping him solve a previous case when Detective Chiba makes a call to him. It turns out that a man claiming himself to be Buchi wants to meet Takagi at Todoroki Park so he can give him valuable information as a way to return a favor. When Conan, Kogoro, and Takagi arrive there, however, they find Katsuya Iwabuchi dead. Moreover, a note about a potential robbery at 10 a.m of the next day is also found near the body, so it's possible that Katsuya is the person behind Buchi.
Next day, close to 10 a.m, Conan, Kogoro, and the police ambush the hinted location to await the three jewel robbers. To Megure's surprise, no robbery happens at their place, and he receives reports that three people have attacked a Jewelry Store in Tsurui City. Oddly enough, every news outlet arrives at Megure's location, having received an anonymous tip that the police were misled.
The police suspect the note was made by one of the three jewel robbers, more specifically, the ringleader, so they split up to investigate. Takagi, Kogoro, and Conan go to the apartment of Katsuya’s friend, Kazuo Kamegamori. He tells them that Iwabuchi showed fear when someone was looking for him half a month ago, he also reveals the reason Iwabuchi hated the police was because he was falsely accused of bicycle theft one year ago. This begs the question what Takagi did to Iwabuchi that made him an exception to his police hatred.
Takagi is asked to return to the station as they have led two suspicious individuals for interrogation. There, the two admit to being hired by Masayoshi Daimatsu to perform the robbery but deny any acknowledgement about the murder. Some core information about Daimatsu is also provided:
- He was caught in a pawn robbery reported by an anonymous tip.
- He was released from custody half a month ago, the exact time Katsuya got terrified.
- He injured his leg whilst trying to escape from the police, and seemed to have hatred toward Megure, who caught him.
The police also find Daimatsu and confront him on the rooftop of a building, where Conan tranquilized Kogoro and begins his deduction as The Sleeping Kogoro.

- In the TV broadcast, a special Next Conan Hint and End Card are shown. The hint is TWILIGHT!!!, and the end card shows silhouettes of members of King Gnu, Conan, and Kogoro. It teases the band performing the One-eyed Flashback theme song on Yomiuri TV's Best Hits Kayosai 2025, which will also feature an anime version, with Gosho Aoyama supervising the character design.
