The Mysterious Written Invitation Case (謎の招待状事件 Nazo no Shōtaijō Jiken) is the second OVA of the series Shogakukan Illustrated Encyclopedia Series. It was released as a VHS by Shogakukan as a standalone direct-to-video product for the cost of 2,800 yen. Its runtime is 40 minutes.

Plot
Case
At the Mouri Detective Agency, Ran shows Conan and Kogoro a letter inviting all three of them to a children's science museum. It is sent by a mysterious "doctor A.". When they arrive there, they are welcomed by a set of beaming lights and Conan figures out that it is a morse code message spelling "A-ga-sa", meaning that professor Agasa invited them. He appears from a separate door and explains that he invited them to a new science museum he opened.
The following scenes show Agasa leading the three around his musem and explaining real-life scientifical phenomena, accompanied with live-action demonstrations.
