Situation

Conan and the Detective Boys meet spider researchers. One of them gets a call, and they rush to the facility on to find their professor fallen to a deadly poisonous spider. Conan discovers that the spider was already dead before the professor came into contact with it, and there's a needle on the ear piece, pointing to murder.

It seems that Hitokawa is Mitsuhiko's neighbor. It was later revealed that Miwa Yasuda killed the professor. The cause of death wasn't the poison from the spider bite but he had a heart attack. She did that for her boyfriend, Hitokawa. She didn't intentionally killed the professor instead, she just wanted him to be sent to the hospital for awhile so that Hitokawa could present his research on the academic conferences that the professor took credit for.
