While locked in, Conan manages to bend lose a rusted old iron pipe belonging to the stairway railing to the door out. While first using the pipe on the door, Conan realizes his body lacks the strength to batter the door open and bends open an iron grating of a ventilation shack and crawls his way to freedom through it. Meanwhile the Kidnapper picks up the ransom and manages to get away shortly before the detective boys with Jun returns from the arcade to his house to find the police there.

Conan manages to figure out the trick they used to change the trucks appearance to getaway and sets up a trap for the kidnappers partner using his Voice-Changing Bowtie to pretend he is Tadashi and that the kidnapper still alive. Goro Kitayama, the Kataoka family's chauffeur shows up and is confronted by Conan, Wataru Takagi and Miwako Sato. In a final act of desperation Goro tackles Sato and hits Takagi with a wrench before he grabs the ransom money and tries to make his escape but is stopped by Conan using the Anywhere Ball Dispensing Belt to inflate and kick a ball at him.
