I'm the Killer! Three Independent Murderers? Reveal the Mystery of the Disguised Murder! (私が殺しました! 3人の単独犯? 偽装殺人の謎を暴け! ,Watashi ga Koroshimashita! Sannin no Tandokuhan? Gisō Satsujin no Nazo o Abake!) is the 12th episode of the Challenge Letter to Shinichi Kudo live-action drama series. It was first aired in September 22, 2011.

Machiko Sonoda, Ran Mouri's computer school teacher and Kogoro Mouri's drinking buddy, is found lying still – presumably dead – behind the closed shutter of Beika City Bank's safe-deposit box floor. There is a warning – the moment the shutter is open or the police make a move, the bank will be exploded. When asked for the murder culprit, all three suspects – Yuzo Nimura, Yoko Sakai and Ryosuke Hasegawa – raise their hands. Can Shinichi Kudo find the true culprit and prevent the 'explosion'?

• Evidence
  • A small puncture wound is visible on Sonoda’s leg.
  • Kogoro found a long rod from a plant nearby with some thread tangled on it.
  • The passcode to unlock the shutters was Ryosuke’s birthday.
  • A melody sounds from one of the safety deposit boxes, it’s number being also Ryosuke’s birthday.
  • The melody is coming from a cellphone with a email address that is the combination of Ryosuke’s name and birthday.
  • After the shutters are opened, Sonoda is found dead, from the body’s condition it is apparent that Sonoda died from poisoning.
  • Sonoda’s diary which had her detailing the embezzlement crimes that have been occurring and the names of the people involved.

• Conclusion

The culprit who murdered Sonoda is Ryosuke Hasegawa. He killed her by using a long rod as a makeshift bowgun. He fired a poison needle at her leg killing her instantly. He then used the string to remove the dart from her leg to get rid of the murder weapon.

• Motive

As it turns out Ryosuke’s was part of the embezzlement scheme and he did not want to be found out so he killed Sonoda. However Shinichi mentions that Sonoda truly loved him and believed in him. She set up the fake bomb threat, she wanted to lure out those who are involved in the embezzlement scheme. This is further proven when Shinichi directs Ryosuke to Sonoda’s deposit box, which contains a new cellphone that she bought for him. With it is a birthday message and her declaration of love for him.

Kogoro furious that his friend had believed in someone so selfish and greedy, grabs Ryosuke and punches him causing him to land near Sonada’s body. Where he tearfully apologizes for killing her and for being so greedy, as he truly loved her as well.

Resolution: The Last White Room

Shinichi enters the case's keyword, "ta-n-jo-u-bi" (birthday), releasing Ran from the infra-red ray sensors. He rushes to Ran, feeling confused after calling her two times, and suddenly realizes something. Standing up, Shinichi states that now he understands why they are trapped in the room, and that Ran is the culprit behind everything.
