The culprit is Itaru Kaburagi. He confesses about Tomari's real name, Ari Sukiyama, who was a marriage swindler who tricks his good-nature older brother into supporting her before leaving him with a huge debt that drove him to suicide. Kaburagi takes the knife from the cart and tried to commit suicide to rejoin his brother. Takagi stop him by grabbing the knife before Yokomizo incapacitates Kaburagi.

Manga to anime changes

• Some original scenes and dialogues are added:

• Kogoro realizes that he lost the key and might lose it in front of the restaurant.
• Jugo imagines that Chihaya picks a man for dinner before shaking his head off.
• Conan asks Jugo not to touch the body (because he does not know that the man in the mask is Jugo).
• Takagi is doing a hand pose after Jugo did Western Lariat to the culprit.
• Chihaya walked away with Jugo after talking to Conan while ensuring Jugo did not become grouchy after she asked for a ride home.

• Some background scenes are not adapted:

• Jugo when he thinks Kaburagi also slipped at the entrance.
• Woman staff when she tells Jugo about the incident that happened at the previous matchmaking party.

• Sango appears in the background both in manga and anime, but on different occasions:

• In the manga, he appears when Jugo mentions his fancy shoes.
• In anime, he appeared when Jugo thought about Sango and kept introducing him to his colleagues.

• In the manga, Conan eavesdropping on the suspect's questioning is only shown at the end during Enzaki's turn. In the anime, it is shown since Kaburagi's turn.
• The events after Jugo slips are changed in the anime, where the staff only appears to clean the glass shards after Chihaya remarks that Takagi is just like Jinpei. In the manga, the staff showed up immediately before Sato asked Takagi about his foot.
• The scene and dialogue when two staffs pushing the food trolley is changed. In the manga, the male staff asked the female staff to return it as dinner was canceled. In the anime, the staff are both female, and one of them commented that the dinner is wasted.

• In the manga, when Kaburagi took the knife from the trolley, the food cover opened, and the food was shown. It remained closed in the anime.

• When Jugo recalls that Enzaki was reading book while waiting for his turn, there is drawing error where both Jugo and Enzaki did not wear mask.
• In both episodes, Itaru Kaburagi's name is wrongly spelled as "Itaru Kaburaki" (かぶらき いたる).
• The suspects' names are related to "marriage" :
  • Anju Tomari (泊里 安珠) comes from "mariage" (マリアージュ ,Mariāju), while her real name Ari Sukiyama (鋤山 有梨) comes from (marriage) scammer (スキャマー ,Sukyamā) ;
  • Ikuhisa Uedera (上寺 幾久) comes from "wedding" (ウェディング ,Uedingu) ;
  • Genji Enzaki (円崎 源司) comes from (to be) engage(d) (エンゲージ ,Engēji) ;
  • Itaru Kaburagi (蕪木 到) comes from bridals (ブライダル ,buraidaru).
