Situation

When Kogoro and Conan are going to buy some ingredients for dinner, they run into a crime scene in a house owned by a couple. It seems that the victim was burglarizing the house and that the husband killed him in self defense when he was about to attack his wife. However, Conan found out some evidences showing that the couple is lying.

Effectively, Shohei Sakuragawa killed Masuoka using the golf stick that was in the scene on purpose after misunderstanding that his wife was cheating with Masuoka, but the truth is that Erina Sakuragawa asked Masuoka to kill Shohei, inviting him to the lake, kill him and submerge the corpse in a lake. Erina also hid the money for the payment in the curry. Finally, Shohei cries and apologizes to Erina for not being her ideal husband with a creepy smile, but she calls him a creep.

Motive

• Shohei killed Masuoka in a misunderstanding that Erina had been cheating on him.
• Although not explicitly revealed, Erina's motive for hiring Masuoka to kill her husband is due to her suffocating from the marriage and that Shohei doesn't see her as anything more than "a beautiful person that is loved by him".
