Jodie Starling Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Yet another new-comer to your Detective Conan World! I began watching Detective Conan, or rather "Case Closed" at the time, on Adult Swim during its atrocious 3:00am (or so) time slot. I remember setting my alarm clock for 3am just to make sure I was up to watch the latest case! Now I've rediscovered my old passion for this anime/manga, and have become even more indulged in it than before! I'm sure I'll be quite comfortable here.
Shinichi Kodou Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 hey! welcome to DC world .. sure if you have any questions feel free to ask! hope u like it ^,^
CarpetCrawler Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Welcome to the site! Glad to see another user who was around during the [adult swim] days of Conan.
Jodie Starling Posted September 21, 2010 Author Report Posted September 21, 2010 Welcome to the site! Glad to see another user who was around during the [adult swim] days of Conan. The good old days when Cartoon Network wasn't trying to weed out anime. If I remember right, they never even aired a good amount of the English dubbed episodes from Funimation due to some low ratings. Too bad the show hadn't made it far here in the U.S. Well, at least I'm under the assumption they aren't doing much work with "Case Closed" anymore!

Yeah, FUNimation has announced that they're done with the series, dubbing-wise, unfortunately. The show was a hit with the 12-18 demographic on AS, but FUNi never capitalized on it, hence the show tanked. FUNi, of course, is known for blaming everything but themselves when an anime fails in the US market.
Southpaw Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 ah, AS.... I remember when Conan was in that G-d forsaken time slot... I tried to wake up for it a few times, but it didn't quite work... and I'd seen all the "air-able" episodes when it was in a more reasonable slot anyway ;; at any rate, welcome to the DC World club!
Maurice Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Hey Jodie! Welcome to DCW! It's always good to see hardcore DC fans lol (did you like wake up at 3:00am everyday or something?) Anyway, I hope you're having fun here and good luck with the fanfic you're working on.
