Kidvicious 707 2 Report post Posted November 3, 2011 Sup Guys, I just recently got into watching Detective Conan one day after searching long and hard for a new anime to watch since I caught up with the Fairy Tail anime in Japan. And all I can say is, I love it so far! But right now I'm using this as my Guideline and I'm not so sure if I'm heading on the right track because I've watched up to episode 49 on that list and there has been little to zero progress relative to the Black organization, Romance , Character Development, bla bla. I know it's a long anime but is it really necessary to watch 600+ episodes in order to grasp the story? It feels rather daunting xD. Should I skip the fillers or is there anything significant that I should be aware of?Anyway, I absolutely adore the Detective Conan universe, It's so freshening, from the Unique and sometimes grotesque Cases. Colorful cast of characters. And not to mention the timeless (and sad :[) love story between Shinichi and Ran But the pacing is kinda meh. It's just, this anime outshines other shows in a lot of ways but it's really hard to ignore the flaws because there really just in your face all the time. *Nobody ever seems to question Conan's high intelligence and deduction skills. *Ran's Gullible nature, I mean really, how has a pair of glasses successfully thrown her off for so long. Look through some old photos of Shinichi and just piece two & two together >.< The list goes on and on. Sorry if my introduction sounds abrasive in anyway. I still have a strong interest in this show and the community. So I'm glad to have been the 8,366th member to join here. So yeah. haha. Anyway, thanks for reading & nice to meet you. Well,, uhm, i'll just inform you that i'm a ShinRan pairing, i'll comment to the one that you've said, "timeless(and sad)" love story of shinichi and ran.well, i'm thinking of that ,too, and WISHING they would have a happy love story at the end.. Just watch the main arcs for the action, then maybe a couple of the suspicion cases (aka, the cases where they make you think ____ is a BO member). Won't give away much more, but I'll see if I can come up with a list that's good for watching. EDIT: Let me try and help, you're on 193 right now so... Watch 205-206, 212-213, 217-218, 238-239, 253-254, 277-278, 284-290, 304, 309-311, 323,324, 340-341, 345, 358-359, 390-391, 425, 449, 457-458, 462-465, 484-485, 487, 491-504, 507,511,568-569 580-581, 583-585, 616-621 (purely optional) 624 there you go, I tried to leave out as much fluff as possible and just give you the main story, however, there are a lot of good cases that aren't in here Quoted from Parkur. These should be the ones after 193. Cases with Black Organization: 54, 118, 128-129, 176-178. 230-231 (which Parkur didn't include) is optional, though it is a suspicion case. 99-102 is probably important if you're ShinRan (which I believe you are). Unfortunately, I forgot the episode numbers for the cellphone case where Ran suspects Conan again, but seeing as it does not relate directly to the plot, you can skip it and come back to it later. Enjoy your stay :grin: Regarding your question ,no you don't have to watch 600+ episodes but if you don't you are surely going to lose watching some interesting cases . There are couple of episodes of Black organization which can be deemed as awesome . They are long and they are connected to the storyline . Also some episodes of conan relate to the main plot in some way .Like a member of Bo is present in certain case etc ..... Also watch kaito kid's episode ,they are the best one's of conan series according to me .But they aren't connected to the main storyline. So basically you should watch episodes of BO ,kaito kid and those of conan and heiji .These usually are the best . But there are side plots like conan turning back to shinichi ,romance between shin x ran etc . So i think you should try watching all of the episodes if you can . Hope that helped . P.S Ran has the thought that conan is Shinichi many times ,but he finds a way out .And you are wrong when you say that no one suspects conan's intelligence ,mouri kogoro ,takagi,miwako etc suspect him .But he pulls it of by saying that he saw the stuff in tv .(This kind of response is given to kogoro by conan) and to the other police officers he tells that kogoro told them to do so . Episode 100 is where Ran suspects Conan and 188-193 is a big case. There's another one floating around somewhere when Conan makes a small mistakes with his cellphone, but I forgot the numbers for those. I'll tell you later if I find them.
