It wont let me vote in the poll... So in the meantime, I shall tackle another common reason for Shinichi and Ran not to be together. The intelligence/interests factor. *takes deep breath* (prepare for a rant) Okay, let me reillustrate the situation. Shinichi and Ran have been best friends for ten years, maintaining the friendship through fights and bickering, through the teasing of classmates and the ups and downs of life. They walk to and from school together everyday, they go out together (not as an official couple, though we all know they both want it. XD), and they're so close everybody talks of them as husband and wife. Don't you think they have to have something in common? How can one go through ten years of constant conversation without shared interests and passions, or at the very least the feeling of a connection? It's ridiculous to suggest such because friendship is hard to keep without shared interests and even if they are never mentioned, they most definitely exist. On the intelligence perspective, I'll have to bow to Ai for being smarter than Ran. But who says just because somebody doesn't share your brain power means you can't be together? It's not like Ran can't handle Shinichi's train of thought- I mean, he's not talking about Quantum Physics. (trust me, that stuff is complicated. I got confused just figuring out the fifth dimension, let alone string theory) And Shinichi and Ai don't exactly share the same type of intelligence. Ai is a scientist, and everything is always unchanging, everything must abide the laws of nature and whatnot. She understands how chemicals react to one another, she knows physics to quite an extent (movie 5, need I say more?) and would probably be an honors student. While Shinichi has basic knowledge of Chemistry, it's not like he can really go in depth about it with her, and I don't think Ai is exactly willing to bear listening to Shinichi bragging about his newest solved case, his other hundred solved cases, the ones before that, Sherlock Holmes, soccer, the violin, and all those other random subjects. Shinichi's a pretty diverse guy, and he's always ready for change, and he has to be able to handle 'impossible' murders, it's simply his job. Investigation and the ability of deduction is far from the controlled, balanced science of chemistry. No two things are ever the same, a 'telltale' clue could always just be a red herring. It's never completely certain. So their intelligence is different, and they don't have many shared interests. Correct me if I'm mistaken, it's been a while since I've done a runthrough of the manga, but the only times Conan actually talks to Ai is either a.) about the DB, or b.) about the BO or Ran. I haven't noticed a true, casual, easygoing best friend conversation. I know they're friends, but they differ too much in my eyes to be a couple. And about Ran's intelligence... The girl knows Calculus for god's sake! She can't be that stupid! And even if she is, Shinichi doesn't seem to mind. (typing on an itouch is a pain in the @$$. Forgive any typos as the keyboard is crappy and likes messing up my typing.)

Hmm... I wonder what Moho thinks of us grieving over his disappearance. He's probably either laughing or touched. I'm not really sure which though. XD

"Get started with what?" asked Aeyra, leaning back against the head of the bed, clearly still shaken from the discovery of Mark's sacrifice. "Mark's dead. He was the only lead." "Not quite," started Pyre, pulling out a thick wad of documents. "I did some research last night and found some info on the Organization Mark was part of." Her voice choked as she said his name, and they all understood. Bad guy or not, it hadn't been his time to go. "What did you find?" interjected Chelsea, trying to sneak a peek at the papers. "Headquarters, other members, what?" "It's an international syndicate. That's why Mark was going to Canada- it's not just some small mafia run by him. This is a powerful Organization, like the BO in Detective Conan. This isn't going to be easy, and more likely than not we'll end up following Mark in death. Is everyone here up to the challenge?"
-
OMG I've been searching forever for that!!! D:< Where did you find it?!?! Oops... We're getting off topic... Some ConAi come on so I find it less awkward to be addressing random parts of ShinRan.
-
Yup! But not as much as ShinRan!
-
You've got a point... He's Hakuba Saguru's!
-
*rolls eyes* so what do you call your pairing? XD
-
O.O I would feel very awkward to continue on this... I'll do it later, maybe.

Well, I think Legend means out of Ran and Ai.

That's not true, I just wanted Kiel to give a legitimate reason like 'Shiho and Shinichi are matched in intelligence' or 'They share a common goal' or something of the like. I respect the opinions of ConAis/ShinShis, but naturally I hold my own above others in my own head. I like listening to the reasoning of ConAi/ShinShi because it's different, and it allows me to see the other side of the Detective Conan spectrum. However, I'm a stubborn person and I try my hardest to show my ideals. You don't have to listen to me, I just like debating. It's just me. And don't mind if I start sounding too passionate, it's probably because I'm tired or something.

ARgh.... Third time I've started to reply, stupid brother.. Okay, you are only one opinion out of many, and this reason is not backed by concrete evidence. Not to mention, ShinShi technically does not exist (Shiho is no longer existent, and Shinichi is technically dead), and therefore you are supporting a nonexistent couple. Because you are supporting a nonexistent couple, your opinion is null and void.
-
We'll count on C I guess.

Stupid computer.... I thought I replied. Whatever. HeiWa= Heiji X Kazuha. That's what Kazu told me.. Do I like Heiji...? OMG I LOVE HEIJI!! HE'S MY FAVORITE CHARACTER!! 'course, then I want HeiShin, but I also want ShinRan, so my hopes can never come true unless Shinichi splits into two. TT^TT

Good! That's my plan! But I'm glad what I said moved you. ^^ I'm always ready to counter any reason for ConAi/ShinShi!! It's fun. XD

"Shit..." moaned Aeyra as she struggled to get up, finding herself in yet another hospital. The whiteness of the room and the bright lights were overwhelming after the welcoming darkness of unconsciousness. "What happened?" "Your plane crashed," informed Legend, sitting on the edge of the bed. Aeyra gave her a curious glance, noticing the girl seemed unhurt. "It's visitor hours. You won't even believe who saved you." "It was Mark," interrupted Misaki-chan, unable to keep from saying it for much longer. "H-he had a parachute and could have saved himself so easily, but he saved you and Chelsea instead. The plane was struck by a missile." "So we were the real targets..." mumbled Chelsea, who had been awake in the bed next to Aeyra's. They had refused to tell her details until Aeyra had woken up, feeling a freakout from Chelsea might disturb the other girl's rest. "And Mark was just another agent they could spare. That's terrible. Even though he's tried to kill us so many times... I can't believe he's gone trying to save us." "I'll admit, we were extremely surprised when we heard it," confessed Cure-kun, who was standing off a little bit to the side. "We were all panicking when you called, and we decided to find you guys in case you were injured. Luckily, it was just minor scrapes and bruises. We're covering up the plane story by saying you girls tumbled down a hill while camping with us. So don't mess that story up." "The doctor's say you two'll be out of here in no time. And he gave us some medicine in case you guys get headaches or something later." The fake IdentityUnknown waved a pill container in front of them. "This should come in handy if one of us becomes seriously injured again. It's painkillers." "I'd have loved that very much when I got shot in the head," muttered Aeyra darkly, remembering the exploding pain in her head. A trace of it was still there, but nothing compared to the original pain. "Would have made things easier." "Oh well, the past is gone." Chelsea sat up, eyes alert and eager. "So, what do we do now?"

DraMione has taken over my brain. O.o And of course I started plotting out a story for it, of course... I can't believe I'm starting another story...
