Well Kaito has tons of fans from DC, so you can't say he isn't interesting. He's the coolest Phantom Thief ever! (and the only crook that Conan has had the ability to catch and didn't. Do I sense KaiShin?) And Hakuba has a hawk, is British, and looks so cool! His connection with Kaito is so interesting, friend or rival, enemy or helper? It's awesome. I want to see character interactions with the these two more! I want to see more MK crossovers! *starts acting like Renge from OHSHC*

Anything by Becky Tailweaver, who writes, in my opinion, the best stories there are. Relative Truth, for example, explores the relationship between Kaito and Shinichi. Will not say more because it'll spoil it. I'm Already There- songfic about Ran and Shinichi, and how she's coping without him as she takes care of their son, the adorable Yuuichi Mouri. Mainly about Conan though. This fic expands into a trilogy which is also unfinished, but it was unbelievably BRILLIANT!

I heart sad fictions. Somebody who is waiting for me to finish my HeiShin fic, currently at 11,000+ words and not even half finished. Sheesh, it was supposed to be a one-shot, but it shot out of control and I can't stop it anymore...
