I Wanna share this alternative theory to why Rumi is interested in the dying message, that makes sense to me. Remember in Mystery Train, we got alluded to that the Itakura software had something to do with why Vermouth is hiding Conan's and Haibara's shrinking. Since the APTX shrinking effect was unknown when she was ordering the software, it would mean that the software has something to do with the previous research(since APTX research is based on it). That indirectly implies that she might've been hiding things connected to the SB research as well. If that were the case, then it makes a lot of sense that she was behind the Miyano accident(File 948 reminded and gave us more info regarding the accident, as if it will play a role in this arc). Why would she suddenly burn their laboratory? The likelihood that she found out that they made progress with their prototype is high. In order to cover it up, she burned their laboratory(along with them)(roughly 18 yrs ago). If that were the case, it could mean that some of the leftover drugs used for the assassination of Amanda & Kohji(17 yrs ago) might've had the effects that the parents discovered right before Vermouth covered it up. This was just the setup, now on to Rum arc. Asaka is not Rum, following this speculation. We find out that Rum drugged Amanda and Kohji. Now, the likelihood that he attacked Asaka as well is pretty high. Vermouth finds out that Rum used the very drugs she despises to kill off three people. However, Asaka's body disappeared. That would instantly worry her, since compared to the other BO members, she would have a hunch that maybe the newly discovered results took effect. In the Betrayal series(File 954-957), she showed indications of being interested in the Asaca song. The first was her unusual generosity to help Amuro with a disguise(she's being blackmailed, so why bother offer the blackmailer something he could force from you if he wanted to). The second is her clearly rushing with a disguise to catch up to Bourbon and get involved, with a suspicious excuse(When did Bourbon show signs of unfaithfulness to their promise? And why rush as if they are in urgent danger?). With all this in mind, let's focus on Rumi. She uses the dying message as her "alias", meaning that her interest clearly lies in the Kohji case(and she wants to provoke Conan). She might be possessing a piece of the message itself, and she was gripping it with anger after being reminded of Rum. Doesn't it make more sense with this possible angle in mind? Vermouth's anger towards Rum is more so towards his actions with the drug, that created this mess with Asaka's disappearance. Her goal is to eliminate Asaka, the living evidence to the Miyano's prototype's progression, and is using her Rumi disguise to get Conan's attention(after confirming his knowledge of the case) and help on figuring out the message(if it could help her find Asaka), by acting as "Asaka" herself. Subaru is still a part of her goal of course, hence why she wanted to invite the kids and then drop them off one by one.

It's funny how the simplest type of interactions between some of our main characters hasn't happened yet. Maybe next case could be their moment(although again, probably unlikely).

Hmm... His hair seems different though. And the mystery man seems to have distinguishable cheekbones. Interesting comparison nonetheless.

Which seems to imply that the end-goal of the APTX research is not the same as SB research(at least what the Miyano parents envisioned). ... implying that rejuvenation does go into the right direction, in some way. True, but the end-result isn't necessary the same as the APTX research is intended to be. They are based on the same materials, so it's not weird that both research would follow similar processes and stages before they eventually follow their own two different paths. This is seriously a well thought out theory. I'm intrigued. Although I wouldn't exempt Subaru as someone unrelated to the BO, since he is a former BO member(Rye). You lost me here. The whole deal with Conan sensing people's stare has been an ongoing DC trope that even other characters have utilized, so I can't really treat that as a part of the "sensing ability mystery". I doubt you would claim that Ran was affected by a drug after sensing Kazuha's stare, or Takagi for sensing the other police detectives' stares. Since the Mystery Train fake death, it has seemingly been "switched off"(According to Haibara in File 956). Now in recent events,... Once again, you have seized my attention. It's a very interesting correlation to the senses of a detective(a shark, as Shinichi put it). Applause for giving me a very exciting theory-reading session. It definitely had an sought-out purpose for the BO goal(hence why Tequila requested it), but since Tequila implied that the BO gave up on Itakura(the words that Souma heard when Tequila passed him: "You're not needed anymore"), the question here should be "why was Vermouth adamant about ordering the software and took Tequila's job?" Yukiko and Conan seemed to be onto her in Mystery Train. Probably had something to with why she's hiding the research progress of not only APTX(since she didn't know about its shrinking effect until after she ordered the software), but also the SB research. If she has been hiding the effect of the SB research, then she was most likely behind the accident that killed the Miyano parents to hide the new results that was similar to the APTX shrinking side-effect. Overall, regarding the sensing ability matter with Haibara. The pattern I've noticed is that maybe Haibara can only sense people that has been in her presence when she was young(as if she was registering their "smell"). Pisco was sensed, and he had said that he had met her when she was a baby. Rye, Akemi and Vermouth were clearly involved in her past. Bourbon hasn't officially met her before, but since he was seen with Elena before she wanted to "leave"(probably because Elena either sensed danger from Vermouth, or they realized that the BO were planning on creating another drug with the SB research), he might've met baby Shiho. Numabuchi wasn't sensed because she said herself that she never had a chance to meet him. This would explain the implications in the Numabuchi incident. What do you think of this pattern?

This is still her third appearance, so who knows... maybe we will see some sneaky attempts as we move on. Or maybe we will get new development in their relationship. For now, it looks like Gosho is focusing on making her look like Rum. Let's wait with the "should've" and "could've" questions. Me too, although I doubt it. If it's a Heiji case, then I'm hoping for more Momiji/Iori(although unlikely, since Gosho mentioned that she would appear close to her Anime debut). Btw, has there been a case where Haibara and Heiji has interacted and been involved together(excluding Shiragami case and desperate revival, since it was "through phone" / "Haibara in disguise")? Maybe. She might've suspected her as Vermouth at the beginning, then she got confused when she noticed the "one-eye" behavior and thought of Rum. And then she noticed her genuine good side, which was the only thing that made sense(since the other notions conflicted with each other). A very good question. If Gosho were to give an official explanation to that(through manga or other means), it would mean a lot to me. For now, the "met before" pattern is the only thing that makes sense to me.

Never xD I personally think the boss is a shrunken adult and that Daikoku Rentaru is his double that secretly represents him in all matters of affair. I'm thinking he was the mystery man that Sharon met, and he's probably half-japanese(seeing as he looks foreign in the flashback and the alias "Daikoku Rentaru" would seem questionable if he was a complete foreigner). In that case, he could fit with the "former foreign minister" description that Heiji gave to one of the names in the guestbook. As for the whole "7th child" interpretation of the kanji for "Rentaru", maybe it's a literal term for Rentaru being the boss' seventh child, or he's the youngest among the seven original members of the BO(since the song was referring to 7 "crows"). Would be interesting if Sharon and Rentaru are 2 out of 7 children of the Boss(and the boss thinks that Chris is his granddaughter), while Bourbon only has the info that Vermouth is the Boss' direct daughter. I personally believe that Vermouth is hiding the halted-aging from the Boss. Went full-on speculation-mode there Me neither. There's no indication to a change at all. Maybe her whole Rumi disguise goal is such a pressing matter, that she doesn't have time to focus on orchestrating Haibara's death. I personally prefer this idea. Vermouth is a favorite(mine and Gosho's), so to see her get involved and developed would be the perfect setup to future revelations of her past, considering that we are close to the final arc(and we are seemingly getting 3 high-ranked BO members as Rum suspects). I don't think we need to always have new characters and ignore the already "popular" ones. I personally see that as a foreshadowing to when it would happen(post-Mystery-train), since she didn't seem as adjusted at that time(especially when she was aware that Vermouth was nearby). Considering that she never met Numabuchi before, I feel like that plays into it. Now that she's ignoring her BO warning(that she could barely get since her fake death), what she was afraid of happening at that time is seemingly happening now(because Vermouth is definitely danger to her). As image above shows, she seemed to rely on that sense a lot, which makes me assume that it was very effective before she shrank. Now that she's away from the criminal life and is assumed dead, like she said in file 856, that probably played into the dissensitization. How she was able to sense anything from Rumi now is beyond me(looked like Gosho forced the opportunity to use Vermouth's BO-ness to mislead us into thinking Rumi is Rum). Maybe Rumi's grudge was simply that strong that it couldn't be bypassed?

Vermouth has never been measured to Conan in a situation where they are in equal grounds, equal cluelessness, and where we could clearly see who is above the other in terms of deduction(like a case, where Vermouth isn't hindered by herself due to trying to uphold a character disguise). So far, all our arguments was based on incidents that involved so many factors + ambiguity. Akai and Conan had multiple interactions and moments where we could clearly tell the level they are at compared to each other. Overall, my final say is,.... We never had actual evidence that Vermouth is inferior to Conan in terms of intelligence,... just like how Rumi's moment in File 988 is just one clear instance that at most can tell us that she's at least on Conan's level. I don't think we need to wait to know that Mary shrank with APTX. That's pretty clear to me(even without 100% confirmation). In any case, that's irrelevant, because the point was that the possibility that Asaka shrank isn't that unlikely at the moment(especially when we don't know anything about the SB prototype, other than its foundation being what APTX research is based of). 11 chapters later(File 362), we have this mayor introduced, talking about liquor It's not a rule that he has to name-drop everything in just the setup case for an arc-subplot. If we were to take an example from the Bourbon arc. First stage was finding out about Bourbon's antipathy with Akai,... and then literally at the end of the arc,... second stage is the name drop of Scotch(the reason for the antipathy). Similarly to that, Gosho doesn't have to name drop everything surrounding Rumi's grudge and backstory right away. I agree that there was a fitting opportunity there for whatever hatred she has against Rum to get alluded to there, but I still prefer ambiguity,... I want to be challenged and have fun deducing and debating(like right now). Which hasn't been the case yet. Killing Haibara as Rumi would be a direct promise-breaker. Letting Bourbon choose if he is gonna destroy the link(to the train), after forcing Sherry into a car full of bombs, or not is indirect. Would be funny to see how she would've acted if Ashizawa was holding Haibara instead. "Stab her... I can do it for you if you want... but not really...so Stab her!" Not really. He's wearing a disguise, so his opened eyes wouldn't reveal those eye-bags(as seen during Scarlet and beyond). Mystery Train was a different situation, where Subaru wasn't wearing his disguise, just a wig and glasses(since he recently took em off to face Bourbon). Point is, from the start, one wouldn't picture him as the same guy because of his distinctive feature. Since the Vermouth theory would imply that Rumi is a disguise, that could simply be the result of Gosho's artistic touch to her eye expression, when Vermouth wears coloured contact lenses for the Rumi disguise. Well, let's start with baby steps. I just mentioned the pattern I interpreted. Based on the whole ordeal with Numabuchi(which was seemingly alluding to future explanations as to why she couldn't sense him), all the people she has sensed and the moments of inconsistencies, what do you get from it?

Well, we still don't know what it is. But we can't deny how similar that shape is to that shard(more so then to a Shogi tile). Whatever it is, it's connected to her grudge on Rum. Before the details of the shape was shown, I was betting on Rum killing Sharon's husband(which would be an awaited development to Vermouth's backstory). The way I see the "stab her" antics, it's that she obviously wasn't gonna hurt Ayumi, but the idea that she's capable of killing children isn't false either. You have to be a bigger monster to overwhelm another. This monster however is Vermouth, and she has another side to her character, a caring and kind side, which was shown through her genuine worry for Ayumi, that was able to move even the suspecting Haibara. I mentioned this before, but when you create a new identity from scratch, I can imagine it's very hard to stay on character, when there's no real "script" to follow. Unintentionally, bits of your true self can easily slip out. The whole deal with Kuroda was her being suspicious enough to the point that she was trying to provoke a confirmation to her suspicion from Kuroda, that he came because of her(meaning that he came because he thinks she's the prime suspect Asaka and that he's involved in the Kohji case somehow). The method she did it with was an effective one, and it clearly had her true self mixed with it. Because he assumed she's Asaka, including that Asaka is Rum(meaning that if he was involved, he has never met Asaka and Rum's appearance doesn't contradict the ambiguous Asaka photo). Kuroda implied that he clashed with Rum at some point("that person" was definitely referring to Rum, and it was left gender neutral so that we wouldn't assume that Rum is either gender). Conan hasn't shown indications that would make her believe that he's onto her(which I'm sure she's waiting for, since she is clearly trying to provoke a reaction from him with her name). No one obviously heard her, since she went close enough to the culprit that only he could hear her(And I bet she was gonna pull off a "Subaru"). Only if that name slips out of the elementary school environment. Or, she's simply that good. Incompatible glasses doesn't mean blindness.

Still, she's dealing with a completely different opponent that she has never fought against before,... a teen in a child's body, who should be limited in every way, which makes it easier for her to underestimate his capabilities(yet he proved how well he could utilize his surroundings[Gadgets, allies etc.] to the point that he could be a "Silver Bullet"). I think it's a big stretch to jump that far ahead with the assumption that Rumi is completely beyond Conan level, based on a one-time deal where she hints him(while being on equal ground with him(since in File 966, she had a time advantage)). Subaru has shown to be on Conan's level, and even he has hinted to Conan before. Sure, we didn't see what gave Rumi the idea with the balancing toy, but that doesn't really tell us the level she is in comparison to Conan(considering that she really just hinted at one part of the trick). I still don't think this is a matter of her getting smarter, but rather her revealing how smart she is. I still can't see her as inferior in any way during the Fullmoon showdown, just because Conan took her by surprise(due to her underestimation). Even a great genius can miscalculate and underestimate(especially when most of their data is controlled and limited[Since Conan made sure that she didn't know of his true awareness, and that she didn't find out about his secret counter-attack]). There's no precedent that proves otherwise either. I can't take Pisco's knowledge of the SB research process as fact, since he wasn't a research-mate. In the end, I prefer not to overlook any possibilities(just because they don't have a precedent). Actually, it's clearly shown in the manga too(File 351): I'm saying that this flashback scene is most likely real(why else make it so elaborate for a lie), but the story about Chris disguising as this mystery man is fake(Sharon was most likely covering up her secret meeting with this man, and since there was rumors about her bad relationship with Chris, this "meeting with a man" story probably hit the news and Sharon covered it up with the "chris" lie). Point is, that's not necessarily the husband's real appearance(because he might be someone else), and there was a memorial/grave of her husband in the US. The criteria doesn't have to be Sharon's namedrop though. It can be anything Vermouth-related. And if he keeps the ambiguity of Rumi's identity beyond File 1000, I personally don't see any harm in that. That case served as a setup for her Rum plot involvement and Subaru investigation, but again, since we don't really know what's inside her pocket yet, it's still early to say that she's tied to Kohji(that's my current suspicion though(which can easily change if isn't a shard), since the shard shape matched well with the object shape). Merely stating that idea. So far at least, Haibara might be starting to see Vermouth in a different light. Rumi hasn't shown any treatment of Haibara that would contradict with Vermouth's wish to want her dead, and she clearly respects her promise to Conan enough to not directly go back on her words. It's a disguise, so she's bound to look different(no matter how the difference is portrayed). Subaru's closed-eye-style would also qualify as too unique of a style to be same guy that recently(at that time) "died". And only one being currently alive that Haibara has sensed in the past. The rest isn't precedent, like how we knew beforehand that Akai was sensed by her(at the end of Contact with BO), to figure out that Subaru could be him. I'm pretty sure we would have been alluded to a character(that Haibara could sense) during the start of the Kohji/Rum plot if that was the case(like how File 948-950 setup Tsutomu(Kuroda), File 951-953 setup Wakita, File 954-957 setup Rumi(the way I see it), File 958-962 setup Iori(at least the ending part). I can't see Asaka as BO either(from everything that we know about her and the Kohji case). So far, Vermouth is most reasonable and fact-grounded option. I already have this theory that Asaka is Kohji's bodyguard, who was assigned to Amanda, during their meeting. This makes everything fit together(Kohji being given the hand-mirror by someone, Asaka being seen with it[because it was originally hers] and Amanda's secret hiring). If Asaka was his bodyguard, then she could easily have more layers in her relationship with Kohji. Don't know where you are going with this(by suggesting another "Haibara"), but the only answer that would explain the BO trigger is if Asaka was a former BO member. Don't see why she would happen to get involved with a Shogi player, but regardless of that, it's a stretch to assume that Haibara can sense her(when we really have only a select few confirmed that she could sense: Pisco, Vermouth, Akemi, Rye, Bourbon). Since she couldn't sense Numabuchi(who she never met before), and openly expressed concern over that matter(as if it's worth considering), I think the pattern makes sense that she can only sense people that she has met at some point(Pisco met her as a baby, and Rei was seen with Elena before she left, so he could've met Shiho). Not stating this pattern as fact, but I feel like "Asaka" would be a random addition to this selected people that Haibara has sensed.

Yeah, but still, it doesn't give her a reason to believe that he is involving her. She didn't even know that Heiji(the detective from the festival) was involved in his secret. The only allies she could assume he had was Agasa and Haibara(after overhearing their convo through the bugs). Again, the whole plan was based on the preconception that Conan wasn't "Silver Bullet" level. I'm saying that he couldn't have predicted everything leading up to Vermouth taking him as a hostage(after Haibara ruined the plan). It was luck that got him to a situation where his plan was still in motion. Which again, Conan was lucky that it worked in his favor at the end(after all the setbacks). Vermouth was definitely careless, but that shouldn't discredit her anymore than when Conan is careless. In the end though, the latest case is the only thing that truly showed that Rumi was one step ahead of Conan in the case(but keep in mind that it only partained to the main trick of the case, and not the rest of the details), since we didn't see her get as involved in the case as Kuroda and Conan. No problem. Rumi still feels like an obvious Asaka suspect, and considering that she's being treated as Asaka/Rum, I think that the option has diminished just very slightly(to the Asaka theory's credit though, she hasn't openly been addressed as Asaka/Rum yet, but she is still giving me the "Subaru" vibe). I'm being open-minded to options, but the only I can think of is the bartender from Jii's bar(File 853-855), and even she seems irrelevant(and it's based on the idea that Asaka shrank and then aged). Otherwise, I'm betting on Asaka being an upcoming new character and also that she's behind the website. That's one of my options. It would imply however that they had a secret marriage. The flashback with his grave doesn't seem fake(although clearly the story is, since Sharon is Chris), so it would also imply that she made a memorial of Kohji there(unless he was really buried in the US). I wouldn't mind them just being close friends(shogi buddies? :P). It's never too late to hint at things(Kuroda was introduced before the Tsutomu mystery started after all)[I know, I just assumed the Tsutomu theory as fact, but I can't help how obvious it seems now]. Maybe we are looking at the start to some new development in their relationship, seeing as Haibara is growing attached to Rumi. If we base it on facts alone, the only living female that Haibara has sensed the BO smell from is Vermouth alone(hence the likelihood pointing at her favor at the moment).

Considering that that case was when she realized Conan might be their Silver Bullet, I don't doubt that she underestimated him a bit(hence why she anticipated that he would go to the Halloween party). She only had NY-ending/School festival/Bus-Hijack/Omiai/haunted-apartment-start/Miyano-house-start to base her suspicions on. None which hinted to Yukiko being involved. Shinichi managed to trick her by seeming oblivious, due to knowing that the house was bugged(like he later did in Mystery train). Hinting to Conan about cases doesn't make her an all-knowing-entity. We can't know that for sure. She is clearly aware of his stun-gun wrist-watch(after Bus Hijack), so she could've easily thought ahead in case she would be faced by it(I was actually planning on using that in the last fan chapter :P). When Conan brought that for that situation, it was for the situation in his original plan, when he was captured as Haibara, not after all the setbacks would occur. He was lucky that Vermouth was forced to take him as a hostage(even after knowing he's not Haibara). To me, at the moment, Asaka hasn't been introduced yet(or at the very least isn't one of the obvious Rum arc characters). "Mary = Asaka" was debunked ever since the Ripple series(File 972-974). She got it afterwards. Maybe she was in the hotel to meet Kohji(who she seems to have personal relationship with, of some sort)(it's the US, so it's not weird that Sharon would be there). She could have easily disguised herself as a cop and found/taken it from where Kohji hid it(inside the sink maybe?) As well. Rumi's two sides was being emphasised through Haibara's and Conan's behavior(the way I see it, it's identical to Vermouth's overall portrayal, and since Vermouth is Gosho's favorite BO member, I don't find it weird that he used Haibara to transmit two opinions(Haibara's and his own)). Don't know how aware she was of Kuroda's intentions, but if anything else, maybe she was planning on doing what Subaru did to save Ayumi. Subaru showed a completely new side of Akai, so I'm ready for new sides overall. I'm the kind of person who gets a thrill from being confused. Gosho managed to throw so many curveballs in the latest development, I was having a blast piecing them together. Overall, I think the fact that Haibara's sense was overlooked makes it an even more vital clue to Rumi's identity, and I can't at the moment see Asaka as a BO member, with everything in mind. Also, the biggest indicator(along with the sense) is that Rumi is aware of Rum's artificial eye, when even Kuroda himself(who seems to have clashed with Rum) doesn't seem to know about it, nonetheless Rum's appearance(since he suspected Rumi). So far, none other than BO members has shown knowledge of his prosthetic eye, which further supports the idea that Rumi is BO-affiliated, and therefore, more likely Vermouth.

She's not really aiding him if she simply wants his aid to solve the dying message. If you are once again talking about Rumi's intelligence, then as I said, we haven't really been proven that she isn't smart enough. As for this dying message, we don't know even know if the message is missing something or what knowledge it relies on. We can't just generalise the whole confrontation in File 429-434 without taking into account all the factors that played into it. Conan and Yukiko's disguise-teamwork shouldn't have been in her realm of possibilities(since I doubt she even knew Yukiko was in Japan and she wasn't aware that Conan was onto her). Ran was an unpredictable interference(her weakness), and in the end, she did outsmart Conan and successfully fled. Nope. Rumi is not Asaka. I think it was genuine, based on how Haibara was able to ignore her suspicion because of it. The whole "stab her" was meant as a distraction, but I don't doubt that she would under other circumstances be capable of killing children. If we got that twist, there would be no time to flourish anything. I would be just as mind-blown(like how I was by the Subaru reveal, even though I knew and agreed with the Akai theory).

Remember this question? Based on her possible grudge on Rum(since she was gripping that object hard in reaction to "Prosthetic"), and based on this finding... I think that she has a personal connection to Kohji and wants Conan's help to solve the dying message(while in disguise as Rumi).

[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 987-989: The Burning Tent

I think I've found out what Rumi is carrying in her pocket(in File 989). It's the "U" shard from the dying message. -
[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 987-989: The Burning Tent
MeiTanteixX replied to DCUniverseAficionado's topic in Manga series
Didn't say I know the truth, I said that your reasoning about Rumi not being able to hit the robbers if she wore wrong-strength-level-glasses goes against the truth. How does that mean that? You're talking as if she's blind. ...assuming that Asaka is Rum. Because just like how Gin is suspicious of Kogoro's involvement in the Hotta Gaito case, she is suspicious of Conan's(because Conan is the actual brain behind Kogoro, which Gin doesn't know). His involvement in the ASACA song case only made Conan, as well as the unknown detective(Subaru), even more suspicious. Because she asked him if something was up with suspicious Subaru(which there clearly was, because Bourbon was staring daggers at him, and Vermouth noticed), but he kept denying it. She isn't stupid. With her acting experience, she definitely knows that he's lying, so she can't really rely on Bourbon if he isn't honest with her. Again, you are assuming that Asaka is Rum. Vermouth knows if Asaka is Rum or not, and the only reason she would suspect Conan to know that is if she herself thinks that the dying message says "ASACA=RUM", which still isn't confirmed yet. In any case, going by your logic, how is she exposing him to danger if she's acting like she's Rum? She isn't an actual threat, so she isn't really endangering him, she is just making him think that Rumi is dangerous. As far as I'm concerned, Asaka isn't Rum. When Rumi is portraying herself as Asaka, she's assuming that Conan will treat her as a criminal(which will confirm that he read the website, because Asaka is the prime suspect, regardless if Asaka is Rum or not). it took Conan a receipt to notice all the fake coincidences surrounding her. -
[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 987-989: The Burning Tent
MeiTanteixX replied to DCUniverseAficionado's topic in Manga series
Unless she's taking extra precautions to not risk someone finding out that the glasses are fake. That's your problems, not the truth. Her having different strength-level doesn't make her see double, to the point that she can't aim at the right place, it just messes with the perception of distance. The reason she hit the desk was because she perceived it as being further away. Going by that logic, when she elbowed him, she perceived him as being further away, meaning that she hit him harder than what she needed to. Like I said, she doesn't need to take them off, since it doesn't really hinder her to take action, and she is clearly skilled enough(whether the handicap is "incompatible glasses" or "one-eye"). Conan's ambiguous suspicions are always right. Her bumping her head is not an act, and bumping your head doesn't equate to "one-eye". She's not behind the case. My theory is that she's trying to confirm that Conan is investigating Kohji's case, while she herself is investigating Subaru(and is using the kids to naturally get close to him, as they visit Agasa). -
[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 987-989: The Burning Tent
MeiTanteixX replied to DCUniverseAficionado's topic in Manga series
That's not an accurate statement. Having incompatible glasses doesn't necessarily hinder you from doing things. Depending on the strength level(relative to yours), It only increases the chance that you misjudge certain distances and accidentally hit yourselves. You are assuming the worst gap of strength-level when u say that she can't literally hit things with a stick(if that were the case, she wouldn't be able to walk properly either). Which is why she is more obvious(to some degree) to us readers and Conan about her suspicious acting... because she isn't following a "script"(existing identity), meaning that more of your true self is more likely to easily slip out. If her side-goal is to provoke Conan with her fake name(to confirm that he really is investigating the Kohji case, similarly to how she's now aware of Kuroda investigating that case), then she would be forced to create a new identity. -

Just noticed that you interpreted my "bluff argument" wrong. When I said Bourbon was bluffing, I was referring to the consequences of Vermouth Killing him, not that Bourbon is acting like he knows the secret(he definitely knows the secret).

Then I guess Rei has a big mouth. (We still don't know how recent his transfer to Nagano was, but it won't be a stretch to assume it was recent, after Scarlet). -

Didn't he just say, "you're popular in the HQ"(referring to Nagano)? -

My theory is that she can only sense people that was in her presence in the past(even when she was a baby). It covers all the known people she has sensed, except Bourbon(Unless he met her) and possibly Rumi(unless she's indeed Vermouth).
