  1. If Wakita was behind Mary's shrinking, then it would imply that he had access to APTX. That would at the very least make him a code-named member(in ranking), since only Gin and Pisco are so far confirmed to have been authorized to use it(two code-named agents). Overall however, I'm leaning more towards Wakita being a teacher-figure within the BO(hence the "ashita no joe" reference). I can see him being Rum's mentor, hence his possibly-foreshadowed critisizing of "pirate spirit"(Rum). Since Gin wanted to do something about Kogoro(the detective he has suspected for so long), and since Wakita's involvement could be the result of his actions, I wouldn't put past Wakita being a mentor figure to Gin as well(hence why he relied on an older higher-up, despite his portrayed trust issues with people in general).
  2. The "dokkun" SFX is here as well during Subaru's intro, so your reasoning doesn't make sense. Other than this, how do you explain all the other times when she felt BO scent and there were heartbeats sfx? The "mal-intent" that she senses from BO people is the same as the BO scent(another layer of its functionality), and it's an 100% established pattern that every person that BO triggered her are BO affiliated. In Subaru's case, the only confirmed living male that has triggered her in the past(prior to Subaru) is Rye, and in Rumi's case, the only confirmed living female that has triggered her in the past(prior to Rumi) is Vermouth.
  3. Nice. Here's mine: Trying to go for an interesting side character, who could have relevance to the plot (in the degree of Natsuko)
  4. I see. I understand your standpoint on this. Looks like we have completely different views on Haibara's behavior in File 987-989. (Btw, if her reaction to Kuroda is one of your references to when she reacts to mal-intent only, then it's not a valid reference, since there was no "dokkun" sfx to begin with). This doesn't make sense to me, since her mother figure has always been Akemi. Elena was never around, so I doubt she can be reminded of someone that she doesn't remember to begin with.
  5. Her focus and suspicion of Rumi(that lasted up to the end of file 989) kickstarted due to that initial reaction. And since the SFX is the exact same as when she reacted to BO in the past, it is that very same reaction. Are we discussing whether the BO sense she has had so far was mal intent all along, or if what she reacted to was different from the usual BO sense?
  6. Amanda: Clean room, mysterious death(drug) --> Follows BO's M.O. Haneda: Messy room, mysterious death(drug) + dying message --> Contradicts the M.O. It's common sense that Haneda was killed last because of all the errors that wasn't dealt with, contrary to Amanda's murder. You wouldn't just leave a crime scene messy, and then clean the second crime scene. As far as we know, the "BG" is completely gone. a mysterious disappearance, right after the double murder. We don't know anything of Asaka's physical capabilities and how their skill compares to Rum, so making assumptions like "Rum effortlessly killed Amanda" is baseless. As for Haneda's room, we have the clear fact that Tsutomu was involved in that case. Gosho even recently confirmed that Akai Tsutomu was a "Jeet Kune Do" practitioner, which we have seen utilizes many violent and brutal techniques(like the eye-jab technique that Akai demonstrated in the flashback[that touched a lot on Tsutomu's disappearance]). Since the room was left messy, and since Kohji somehow found an opening to leave a message(immediately after being forcefully fed with the drug), it means that something interrupted Rum's assassination and clean-up. Tsutomu mentioned that he "made enemies with horrible people"("people" most likely referring to the black organization). It makes a lot more sense to piece those two together, meaning that Tsutomu interfered with Kohji's assassination and fought against Rum with his Jeet Kune Do skills(ultimately leaving a "terrible mess"), which gave Kohji the opening to leave the message. The eye-jab demonstration could have been a foreshadowing to when Tsutomu used it against Rum(blinding his vision in one eye), which would force him to flee. So yes,... I have reasons and facts to back-up my speculations.
  7. Where's the implications that Rum is a disguiser? It just looks like baseless speculation that is trying to force it into making sense.
  8. Rather than asking about that, the question should be "why is he interested in the dying message and Kohji's case?" Because if he's Tsutomu, that got involved and possible interfered with Rum(before he could get rid of evidence in Kohji's room) and that was forced to erase himself from existance because of it, he would want to figure out that culprit's(Rum's) identity(Since Rum was probably disguised to the extent that gender was ambiguous), and the dying message was his only lead. If you find a name that happens to have the same letters as the dying message, you would immediately investigate to confirm if it's an actual lead(especially since finding leads for a 17-year-old case is rare). Kuroda was trying to confirm his suspicion, when Shiratori gave him the opportunity to investigate Rumi. To me, his comment about "that person camping" looked like him being playful with the idea that Rumi might be the culprit/Rum, rather than him being certain that she is the culprit. He probably doesn't know whether that person is a woman or not(hence the "that person" wording, rather than "her"). Which I agree with(As I mentioned above), but I don't think this was just him witnessing "that person"(the culprit/Rum). He most likely confronted the culprit. I don't agree with the bolded part. As for Rumi wondering about how he knew her name(or rather, why he's watching her), she did get her answer by provoking him. He blurted out "elementary school teacher", which is something he shouldn't know, since she was only introduced as a camping chaperone, and that lead to her getting the confirmation that his suspicion is based on the news(rather than him actually knowing her true identity).
  9. The gender neutral part was probably Gosho's touch in implying that Kuroda is talking about Rum. Basically, Kuroda was assuming and suspecting that Rumi was Rum/Asaka(due to the dying message), and that it's unlike a criminal from a secret organization to do camping activities.
  10. I personally think that Asaka hasn't been introduced yet(or at the very least not been active in the Rum arc, if they have appeared in the past).
  11. "That person" was most likely referring to Rum. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been gender neutral.
  12. Or, She hates Rum because he used the SB prototype on people, which ultimately resulted Asaka's disappearance.
  13. My point was that just because certain things weren't mentioned in the website(like Asaka being the same room as Amanda), doesn't mean that it didn't happen. As for Asaka being the uploader, since she and Tsutomu are the only candidates that we know were directly involved in the case, they are the only options that would possess those "minute-details"(As Agasa put it).
  14. Not if she's intelligent enough to write it from a neutral standpoint, in order to avoid suspicions from whoever is removing it(BO). "Photophobic" is just your assumption from one photo, which is not a fact. She released an ambiguous photo and mentioned the hiring as a mystery. What does that reveal? Nothing.
  15. You are already assuming that the uploader is a guy. Just because it wasn't mentioned doesn't mean that some things aren't kept hidden. Especially since this website is out in the public, the person who was directly involved in that case would naturally leave out things that would reveal their identity(like info that only one person would know). For example, if Asaka is the uploader, and was in the same room as Amanda(when she died), revealing that without evidence in the website would only expose the uploader's identity(because only Asaka herself would know this).
  16. We agree here at least. Why? What makes you think that they didn't? Agreed. Or rather, the mysterious object has something to do with her hatred towards the keyword "prosthetic". We don't know that. Not really. He lacks the essential description compatibility. No effeminate angle, less likely to have a prosthetic.
  17. About the "box-cutter" mystery: Yunnie's Deduction My thoughts on File 990-992:
  18. Iori Muga (his left eye is...)
  19. Nothing to apologise for I think he's just a red-herring. On the other hand, I agree with the theory(that friends in Discord server made) that Wakita drugged Mary. He most likely got the eye-injury from Mary's knife-hand strike during their struggle(struck at the same eye as Akai in the flashback), and since the Wakita setup case(Gin's suspicion, File 951-953) was a Mary case, it makes a lot of sense with Gosho's plot structure. Also, question that was asked in the chapter before Wakita's intro was "By whom was Mary drugged?"
  20. I Wanna share this alternative theory to why Rumi is interested in the dying message, that makes sense to me. Remember in Mystery Train, we got alluded to that the Itakura software had something to do with why Vermouth is hiding Conan's and Haibara's shrinking. Since the APTX shrinking effect was unknown when she was ordering the software, it would mean that the software has something to do with the previous research(since APTX research is based on it). That indirectly implies that she might've been hiding things connected to the SB research as well. If that were the case, then it makes a lot of sense that she was behind the Miyano accident(File 948 reminded and gave us more info regarding the accident, as if it will play a role in this arc). Why would she suddenly burn their laboratory? The likelihood that she found out that they made progress with their prototype is high. In order to cover it up, she burned their laboratory(along with them)(roughly 18 yrs ago). If that were the case, it could mean that some of the leftover drugs used for the assassination of Amanda & Kohji(17 yrs ago) might've had the effects that the parents discovered right before Vermouth covered it up. This was just the setup, now on to Rum arc. Asaka is not Rum, following this speculation. We find out that Rum drugged Amanda and Kohji. Now, the likelihood that he attacked Asaka as well is pretty high. Vermouth finds out that Rum used the very drugs she despises to kill off three people. However, Asaka's body disappeared. That would instantly worry her, since compared to the other BO members, she would have a hunch that maybe the newly discovered results took effect. In the Betrayal series(File 954-957), she showed indications of being interested in the Asaca song. The first was her unusual generosity to help Amuro with a disguise(she's being blackmailed, so why bother offer the blackmailer something he could force from you if he wanted to). The second is her clearly rushing with a disguise to catch up to Bourbon and get involved, with a suspicious excuse(When did Bourbon show signs of unfaithfulness to their promise? And why rush as if they are in urgent danger?). With all this in mind, let's focus on Rumi. She uses the dying message as her "alias", meaning that her interest clearly lies in the Kohji case(and she wants to provoke Conan). She might be possessing a piece of the message itself, and she was gripping it with anger after being reminded of Rum. Doesn't it make more sense with this possible angle in mind? Vermouth's anger towards Rum is more so towards his actions with the drug, that created this mess with Asaka's disappearance. Her goal is to eliminate Asaka, the living evidence to the Miyano's prototype's progression, and is using her Rumi disguise to get Conan's attention(after confirming his knowledge of the case) and help on figuring out the message(if it could help her find Asaka), by acting as "Asaka" herself. Subaru is still a part of her goal of course, hence why she wanted to invite the kids and then drop them off one by one.
