Iwao Teraoka (寺岡 厳 ,Teraoka Iwao) is a Japanese animation producer, sub-character designer. He does storyboard, key animation, action animation director, and art setting for Detective Conan anime and movies. He is affiliated with Ad Cosmo (アド・コスモ).

Biography

Teraoka is widely known as possessing "lightning-fast arms" and superb animation skills as a mover. While he was working in studio Ad Cosmo, he acted as a rather industrious director and worked all by himself. He obtained numerous high-rated praises by virtue of his peculiar storyboarding, which usually manefistes "high-calorie actions" for different animation works.

Teraoka's first participation in Detective Conan was doing key animation for the anime episode Kaitou Kid's Teleportation Magic in 2008, and this was the only time that he was involved in the TV anime. From 2011 onwards, Teraoka began to serve as the storyboard assistant for the Detective Conan movies regularly, mainly responsible for the storyboard of action scenes. Apart from the movies, Teraoka also did storyboard for two openings, in 2016 and 2021 respectively. In 2022, he did the storyboard for the Detective Conan spin-off story, Zero's Tea Time (TIME. 2, 3, and 4).
