The Wandering Red Butterfly (さまよえる赤い蝶 Samayoeru Akai Chō?) is the second episode of the Gosho Aoyama's Collection of Short Stories OVA series. It was first aired in December 24, 1998 by Yomiuri TV and released in VHS on March 17, 1999. Unlike the others in this series, it is only 7 minutes long.

This episode adapts the The Wandering Red Butterfly story from Gosho Aoyama's Collection of Short Stories, with Yusaku Kudo and Yukiko Kudo taking the roles. Yusaku Kudo has received a message from his wife, Yukiko. She wants him to find out where she is, for a date, as well as test his detective skills.

    Trivia

    • The animated version of this short story is much different (and longer) than the manga version. The detective in the original story was named Yusaku Kitakata who ends up meeting a woman at the cinema who resembles Chikage Kuroba.
    • Wait For Me and The Santa Claus of Summer were the two films showing at the Go-Show-Cinema.
    • The pamphlet is the cover of the original manga release of Gosho Aoyama's Short Stories.
