    Trivia

    • The "Urasawada School" (裏沢田家 Ura-Sawada-ke?) of traditional tea ceremony is a reference to the real-life "Urasenke School" (裏千家 Ura-sen-ke?) of tea ceremony and a pun on screenplay writer Yoshio Urasawa's name.

    Footnotes

    Notes

    1. ^ The character "刻" is usually read "koku" or "kizamu". "Toki" is a rarer form of kun reading.
    2. ^ A Shishi-odoshi (鹿威し), literally meaning "deer-frightener", is a device to scare animals, like a scarecrow. It consists of a water fountain where a bamboo tube is set on a pivot and waters pours inside. When the pivot point shifts, the bamboo tube makes a loud thud, which would scare animals away. It is a common feature of Japanese gardens.
