The Gold-Star Answer (はなまるな真実(アンサー) Wa Namaruna Shinjitsu (Ansā)), is the eighth special of Detective Conan and a crossover with Pretty Cure installment, Star Detective Precure!. It's one of the commemorative specials for the 30th anniversary of the Detective Conan anime. It will air in June 6, 2026.
As part of the collaboration with the Pretty Cure franchise, Star Detective Precure! aired a crossover episode with Detective Conan in their series with The Detectives Assemble (名探偵の
Jewelry stores across town are being robbed, but Conan's young friend Ayumi is excited. The crimes bear a striking resemblance to the events of a certain magical girl anime she's enjoying, and she's hopeful that she'll get to meet a "PreCure!" if the thieves show up again. Cure Answer appears in the episode, and Conan seems understandably surprised.

Production details
The Detective Conan X Star Detective PreCure! collaboration project started with the Pretty Cure! producer, Masaya Aramaki, having interest in seeing both series connect with each other, due to its installment's detective theme and how he's a big fan of the Detective Conan series. Despite his doubts, he approached the Star Detective PreCure! staff about the crossover idea, half-jokingly saying "It'd be fun if we could do this, right?". The staff would be interested at the idea, along with TMS Entertainment and Yorimuri TV staff. Additionally, Yorimuri TV was interested at transcending the limits of the broadcasting stations with the crossover, since Star Detective PreCure! airs on TV Asahi.
Masataka Todo, the producer of Detective Conan, admits that it isn't unprecendented for studios and production companies to have collaborations, but noted that a collaboration with a high broadcasting station would be a "huge ask". And noted that the crossover between two series was a success thanks to the tireless effort of many parties involved.
During the proposal stages, the PreCure! producer Koji Kawasaki admits that he was skeptical at first with the collaboration as to whether it'd happen. As the collaboration advances in development stages, he admits that he remembers being hit with a strong wave of "Oh, is this really happening?".
Yasuichiro Yamamoto, the current Detective Conan director, was also enthusiastic about the crossover idea, although he had concerns about world-building and tones differences between the two series (as Detective Conan is a mystery action series, while Pretty Cure! is a magical girl franchise). He admits that it'd be a huge challenge in trying to reconciling its differences.
Koji Kawasaki was interested in seeing two different works be merged together and intrigued in using different approaches to take advantage of each series's setting. He also wanted the characters to be intrinsically involved in each other's stories, highlighing its self-contained nature.
Yatsuichiro Yamamoto had difficulties in making the crossover special work due to its worldbuilding rules of Detective Conan. When the script is shown to Gosho Aoyama, Yamamoto said that he had in mind that "things such as magic and fantasy do not exist" in Detective Conan universe. Masaya Aramaki admits that the staff had difficulties handling the transformation aspects of PreCure! within the Conan universe, and how far they could incorporate fantasy. He said that they managed to explore options and admits that it was pretty fun working in the crossover special. The staff did end up placing stuff for the viewers to feel they're watching Detective Conan in Star Detective PreCure! episode, out of respect for the series.[5]
