The culprit is Ryosuke Sawada. It seems that he was a burglar too, Kitagami tries to open the door to burgle some of his stolen jewelries that happen on the other day ago.

After they had made a deal, Kitagami's mind change, he was too aggressive. He said that he was not his fault, before Kitagami died, he tripped and hit his head on the table and fainted. So, Sawada gets the key of Kitagami and thrown out of the room. Megure shouted saying "Not only you did commit robbery, but you also threw his body from the balcony in a childish attempt to hide what you've done.". After, he breaks down to tears.

Trivia

• There is an error in this episode: when the victim slips on a bottle of alcohol in Kogoro's scenario, he is wearing white socks, but when he is falling off his balcony in the very next shot, his socks are black.
• Inspector Megure tells Junko Miyoshi that Division Three will be in contact with her soon regarding the thefts that took place in her apartment. Division Three focuses on robberies and is the division that Inspector Nakamori belongs to.
