Trivia

The film Running in Handcuffs, of which Takagi is such a huge fanatic, is a fictional titular variation of the 1958 film The Defiant Ones, starring Sidney Poitier and Tony Curtis, which sports a similar plot of two men bonding with each other while chained together.
The plot shares also some similarities with The Wind Is Hot in Morocco, the 30th episode of the anime series Lupin III Part II , where Lupin III and Inspector Zenigata must flee a group of war fanatics chain-linked to each other by their necks.
