The culprit is '''Nijee''' of the Phantom Thieves' Guild, who is disguised as '''Chinami Hosho'''. He hid the slipper in the bowl, using a mixture of benzyl alcohol and ethanol to match the bowl's refractive index. Nijee gets back up, compliments Ran for her skills, and fills the entire room with a smoke bomb, effectively taking the slipper and running off with it. | ||

Situation
An exhibition is being held at the Hosho Art Museum, with the main attraction being a glass slipper named "Lost at Midnight", and Anna, Mikuru and Jett are helping set it up. Suddenly, several Lost at Midnight dupes fall out of the sky, with the real one being toppled over and disappearing.
Anna and Mikuru suspect that this is the work of the Phantom Thieves' guild, and use their Pre-Kit Mirror Loupes and Pre-Kit Books to investigate. While their investigation yields no results, they run into Conan, Ran and Kogoro, the latter Mikuru recognizes immediately due to his prominence. They are visiting Makoto Mirai City to investigate a report regarding a mysterious monster rampaging the city, which leads Anna and Mikuru to worry that a Hanninda was spotted and they were seen in their Pretty Cure forms. Conan wonders how the culprit found the real slipper so quickly, which causes Anna to believe the case is closed. Conan doubts this, but he can't help further due to the other case.
Anna says the culprit is someone who isn't wearing gloves. She suspects that Chinami Hosho is the culprit. Hosho denies this. When searching for the slipper in Jett's backpack, they could not find it.
Conan returns to help, after it was revealed the aforementioned monster was simply a costume for a movie. Anna and Mikuru explain what's happened. Ran notices a glass fish bowl and finds it pretty. When finding out the theme is "Stories in Transparency", Conan, Anna and Mikuru realize what had actually happened.

Trivia
- Adaptations of Anna confronting the culprit in this episode are shown on TV in its Detective Conan counterpart The Gold-Star Answer.
- With Mikuru knowing the famous Sleeping Kogoro but not Anna, it could be inferred that in the Pretty Cure! universe, the events of Detective Conan take place around 1999-2000 rather than in 2027, the time Anna is from.
- The monster Conan, Ran and Kogoro are investigating bears a resemblance with Gomera, a monster character in Detective Conan.
- The eyecatches in the episode pay homage to the iconic Detective Conan eyecatches.
- The shadowy silhouette staring at Anna and Mikuru in the museum is a homage to "The Criminal", a silhouette used in Detective Conan to show the culprit of a case without revealing their identity.
- Jett's ability to invent tools for the detectives is similar to Hiroshi Agasa's.
- The end sponsor card of the TV broadcast has Kaitou Kid listed as one of the sponsors for this episode.
